Claire rushed towards the man in the armour while Alex was flanking and because he was so focused on Claire he didn't notice that Alex was gone.
It was a two-way attack, Alex was attacking from the side while Claire was going head-on.
When both Alex and Claire prepared to strike, the man disappeared.
Before they knew, it, they had blacked out.

Mei and Connor, we're repeatedly walking up and down the street of the hospital to no avail. It had only been a few days since they had disappeared off the face of the earth but the only clue was Claire's headband but they couldn't do anything with that.
They went back to the tower to the room where Davies was sitting.
"Since you can't do something as simple as tracking two people, I'll leave it to the leftovers," Davies announced
Mei and Connor left the room and a brown-haired boy and a grey-haired boy were dragged into the room.
They both looked pale and sickly with sunken cheeks and eye bags. A man in a suit walked up to Davies and handed him a syringe. Davies sat up and walked towards both of the youngsters with the syringe in his hand.
He jammed it into the brown-haired boy's arm and several blood red lines stretched from where the syringe was injected into towards his head and heart. He did the same to the grey-haired boy.
Their eyes glowed and fire surrounded the grey-haired boy while rocks covered the brown-haired boy's body.

Alex woke up once again in an unfamiliar environment.
He was in a four-poster bed wearing pyjamas that he didn't remember putting on, on his left, there was a window with a mirror on the windowsill along with a few plants, there were multiple shelves filled with books and a wooden desk with practice swords leaning on it.
There was a crimson wallpaper with a black pegasus pattern covering the entire room. He got off the bed and saw that there was a golden chandelier hanging from the ceiling. He walked out the door and entered a hallway with multiple doors and windows.
He walked down it and ended up at a stairwell.
He then strolled down the stairs and ended up at a glossy, wooden door.
He opened it and walked into a huge hall with several hundred youngsters sitting on benches eating.
They were talking fairly loud before he went in but when he got in everyone stopped eating and turned their heads.
Alex felt as if all the world were watching him. He quickly turned around quietly tiptoed out the door while feeling hundreds of eyes on his back.
He walked back to the room he woke up in and he noticed that there was a blank paper on the desk. Intrigued, he picked it up and flipped over where he saw very neat, cursive and tidy writing.
"Alex, you must be confused so ill start off by explaining where you are right now. Currently, you are at the Imperium academy.
It is a prestigious academy that had students the likes of royals, nobles, and high ranking army members.
Because you are quite sloppy with everything, combat in particular. This is the reason why you are going to join this school.
There is a mask in the drawer that can allow you to change faces instantaneously and make you appear as someone else.
You only have to visualise a face in your mind's eye with it on your face and you'll be able to use it.
You will use this for the duration of your stay because you are already quite notorious because of your stupid decision back in Placentia
Signed, James," Alex read.
He reached into the drawer and felt something of and felt like flesh and instantly recoiled.
He picked it up and dropped it on the desk. It was a transparent oval with eye holes, nose holes and a gaping hole for a mouth. He picked it up and walked up to his bed.
He looked at the mirror on his windowsill while thinking about the man who they have attacked the rooftop.
A scar appeared on his cheek and his skin became more tan. He inspected his face in the mirror and could not believe that it could work. When he smiled in the mirror and showed his pearly whites, it looked very natural, which to him, seemed very unnatural.
He didn't think he could go to school with the face of a grown man and the body of a child so he thought about the blond boy who had woken him up at the in.
His skin turned pale, his hair turned blond and his eyes turned a baby blue. He thought that he could never get used to using someone else face.
He went back down the stairs to the food hall and saw Claire waving her arms at him. he was confused because one of her arms were amputated.
He walked up to her and she explained that there was a hospital wing with a doctor who could heal anything, even regrow lost limbs she said with a grin.
A bell rang and she dragged him to a court outside with sand on the ground. There were about 18 other kids who were the same age as them who were in a line facing the man that they had met the last night. He and Claire fell in line.
"My name is Captain Andrei, now, this is the first lesson of this year, you will all be in the same classes for the next 5 years, so you can each introduce yourselves to each other before I start the class," The man said.
They all got acquainted with each other and the lesson started.
They had to run for five miles and do various other leg exercises until the sky became dark. Andrei told them that that was the only lesson for the day because the school is lenient for the first day, but starting from the next day, the school really starts.
