STRIFE
My back hit the asphalt hard, causing a pothole from the impact. I was losing the fight, badly. He picked me up again and threw me into the woods.
As far as I know, Hadura wasn't this powerful...she only incited desires and made them stronger but this was beyond her powers.
"Don't make this hard for me..." he was a few feet away from me. I couldn't move because my left leg was turned into an awkward angle, muffling my scream, I snapped it back into place. "I understand Inke shared his power with a human in order to rile up Kaos..." I tried as much as possible to not make any noise as I got up and phased into a tree. "Hiding?" he caressed the tree I was hiding in "The human took his soul to Inke's abode...that place, I heard, is a wrong place to be...and for a soul to be taken there... I'm surprised he hasn't been ripped apart by Inke's Feeders" I felt his hands grab me from inside the tree, pulling me out. "Nice trick!" he bashed my head against the tree repeatedly until I was gasping to breathe. "you really are stubborn...I still wonder how I managed to snag you though" he sneered but that was cut short when a armor clad arm from nowhere slammed into him, sending him deeper into the woods.
"Pathetic." was all he said and then disappeared before I could get a 'thank you' out. Was he watching me?
I couldn't use my powers as most of my energy was directed at patching me up. I felt my pockets for the phone Kaos gave me, it wasn't there and I'm sure it was probably broken but luck was on my side, it was lying in the small pothole my body created and it was buzzing.
"yeah, Dhiji..." I wheezed when a sharp pain hit me.
"Are you okay? are you on your way? what's going on?" he was frantic.
"I'm on my way, I'm walking... I can't use my powers so it might take a while for me to get there..."
"I can turn around and come get you..." and relief washed over me
"If you can, I'd owe you my life." I winced as another wave of pain hit me.
KAOS
Bloodlust filled me when I saw what Inke's Feeders did to Dhara. They circled him like vultures while taking occasional bites out of him and it was all this woman's fault.
"Oh no, I left him for too long!" She ran to his side, shooing off the feeders and when she touched him, his battered body reverted into a small colorful orb that suddenly went dim "You were too stubborn for your own good!"
"Stubborn? you brought him here in the first place!" I gritted my teeth in a fit of restrained rage. "Heal him..."
"what?"
"Heal him...it's the only thing that would keep me from killing you in a few seconds from now" Omen took over and his monstrous form loomed over them, saliva dripping through the cracks between his jagged teeth, his souless eyes ripped into her being; taking control of her senses. "Heal him"
"I can't...the deal has been set into place...n-nothing must go against it or he'll die." she trembled.
"Then I guess you die!" Omen's hand sharpened into a long blade and readied to stab her. "You disgust me!" he nicked her arm before dropping her. "You have been marked for death...I would be careful if I were you...or not" Omen picked up Dhara's soul and disappeared.
"How did you know what to do?" I asked, reverting back to Naga.
"There was no longer a deal in place. He lent her his powers and now that he has taken them, nothing bounds them anymore... she's just a regular human and I noticed that when the Feeders were attacking the human's soul" he echoed.
"Ever so thoughtful, Thank you Omen...you rest now but this is far from over" I stared at the battered soul in my hands and silent tears streamed down my face "I'm sorry" I transformed into Kaos and gripped the cage the soul was in with my snout before sprinting off into the woods towards his body.
WEJAH
ugh!
Heavens, that hurt! Who the fuck was that? I know for sure that was a god but which one?
My head was pounding and my balance was off.
I leaned against the tree as I tried to get my bearings right but before I could take a step, a sudden pressure befell my surrounding, taking me with it. I was pressured to the ground and my newly found powers were useless against it.
I really should have done more research against the god whose power I took...Hadura, the goddess of desire...she wasn't half bad, she really incited my desires so much that the inevitable happened. It was fun but she had what I need.
Something suddenly zoomed past me, leaving a trail of dust behind and soon as it was at a far distance, the pressure disappeared as it came.
"Woah, gods are really running around this place like a playground or something"
My curiousity got the better of me. I got up and dusted myself off, I could walk now but i needed to lean on trees and shrubs and I decided to see what it was that went past me at such speed and what commanded that much atmosphere.
Halfway through my walk through the forest, Inke materialized in front of me. He was battered, too battered for a god. He had a deep gash on his forehead, another deep gash was gaping at me through his torn suit.
"Should I even ask..." I arched an eyebrow
"Yes, god slayer...you should! This is your fault!"
"No it's not. it's not my fault you blindly went after her and didn't access your enemy before going full on attack head-on" I spat. Was he this dense?
"she is not my enemy!"
"why are you treating her like one? I wonder what she saw in you anyway if you were this idiotic!" I walked around me and he pulled me back and I gripped his hand, refusing to let go.
"How dare you!" he tried to remove his hand but I held on tighter.
"Thank you for willingly touching me...an opportunity for me and a fatal mistake for you."
"what the hell are you doing? let me go!" he shrieked.
"I'll use this wisely" I absorbed his godly essence and He fell in a tired heap, looming over him I smiled.
"you will never get away with this, Wejah"
This wasn't going as I had originally planned. Inke failed to capture Kaos but with his power, I might be able to turn the tables.
"if everything goes according to my plan... I think i would get away with it" I sneered before disappearing.
KAOS.
It was getting dark now.
I slowed to a stop when I got to Strife's little cabin. Her scent was faint, what was keeping them. I trotted tiredly towards the cabin to wait for them and rest a little.
For some reason a familia sense of dread filled me. I felt my mind quiver.
"Calm down, dear" I whispered to the twin gods. "Nothing is going to happen to you" I tried to reassure them.
"He's coming!" They warned "he's here!" but it was too late, I was rammed into and thrown to the side and at the same time, I heard Dhiji and Strife arrive.
I was away from their line of vision and it took a second for me to realize I had dropped the soul.
"Finally, we meet" the voice they feared and hated so much, spoke. "you're even more beautiful in person, I am so graced to be in your presence....goddess of Chaos" He revealed himself.
