KAOS

I could feel them tremble within me, proof that this man did terrible things to them and for some reason a part of me wanted to kill straight away and another part of me wanted the satisfaction of watching him try to justify his actions before I actually do kill him.

"who are you?" I asked, not really caring about his answer. I wanted him to feel so little in my presence. "I cannot say, I feel graced to be forcefully cornered like a dog." My left eye twitched, I was slowly losing control. They wanted to lynch this man all at once.

He slowly circled me in a bid to intimidate me. He is bold, I will give him that.

"I've heard a lot about you, goddess. How humans turned their backs on you after everything you did for them... don't you wish to get revenge?" he stopped, inches from my face.

"Sounds like something Inke would say... and I understand why you smell like that bastard, you took his essence..." I pinched the bridge of my nose, sighing "...he is a careless excuse for a god and I am not really surprised you got to him" I walked around him and that was when i spotted the soul. It's dim light had grown dimmer, I was losing time and this human was taking whatever I had left.

"Yeah, he is. Talks too much..." he laughed a little like he remembered something "...you really did a number on him...You must really be a powerful one..."

"Is that what you want?"

"You want to negotiate? That's a first" he clapped in glee.

"No, I just really have not decided yet if I wanted to kill you and get this nonsense over with because so far with what I pieced together, you hunt my kind for our power."

"you don't scare me...but fine, I'll let you do whatever you want...but you're coming with me when that's over. I'll be waiting here...no funny business"

"Sadly, I am bound by my promise. I will come, now step aside" I spat

I picked up the dimming soul and in a split second, I was by the car.

"you're here...what took you?"

"nothing... I am here now..." I suddenly started to cry. "I am here now...and...and I have no idea what to do!" I broke down in Dhiji's arms. "His soul is so dim now... he is going to die because of my stupidity...I am so sorry" I was soaking his shirt with tears

"No...let's not lose hope just like that..." I could tell he was at loss for words.

Strife, who has been silent for a while, spoke. "Let me have the soul...I want to try something" She took the soul from my shaky hands and held it over his almost lifeless body and it glimmered a little. "Look..." a little flame of hope lit up in me.

"Let's keep holding it up then...I'll try just about anything..." Dhiji watched in amazement as worked to bring his brother back

Unfortunately, the soul didn't glimmer than it did earlier before his body started to absorb his soul back and soon we were holding nothing. We watched as his body regained color slowly and he slowly began to breathe. I kissed him on the forehead, mumbling a hurried apology before pulling Strife aside.

I didn't have much time.

DHIJI

I watched the two goddesses, against all odds trying to bring my brother back and succeed. I watched color creep back to his face and his chest slowly heaved slowly and a sigh of relief that I didn't realize I was holding in escaped me.

They left his side to discuss something seemingly important and I moved closer to my brother and saw him crack open his eyes with difficulty. He must have been depraved of light for long while he was out of his body.

"Dhara...They did it..." I whispered, gingerly picking up his hand...his Ice cold hand. "Your hand is so cold, man" I chuckled lightly "...weird"

"No way...How are you doing, man?..." his words wobbled after that. His hands dropped from mine limply and his eyes fluttered close.

"Hey ...Hey! Naga! He's cold! He's fucking cold!" I gripped his body trying to warm him up in my futile attempts to not think about the fact that my brother just died. "He can't be!"

They were by me in a flash, shoving me aside to get a hold of what was going on. Naga burst into an inhuman shrill, clutching his body close to her. Everything shook as though an earthquake was happening as she cried and I stood there motionlessly as I watched everything unfold.

Strife slipped her hand in mine, squeezing softly. A concerned look plastered on her face.

"Everything is going to be fine." She assured me

"How? He's dead" I said in a monotone.

"She is a god, Dhiji. Do not lose hope" She said, hopefully. "I believe in miracles"

STRIFE

Kaos, the Token...

I heard one of her gods speak. They sounded like a child's voice. It was a rare occurrence for a god to retain the form of a child.

Use, the Token...

She began to mumble Suddenly. Chill ran down my spine and goosebumps covered my skin. Her chants got louder and from her hand a familiar token covered in orange light floated upwards, sucking Kaos's essence into it and then she began to turn back into her original form, the white fox. Unnatural strong winds engulfed the car, obstructing our view.

"Close your eyes, Dhiji" I was not going to risk it. "Looking into her eyes in that form could drive you insane..."

"what is happening?" his curiousity reared its head and who can blame him, it is his brother in there.

"A miracle..." that was the simplest way I could explain all the while shielding us from the debris.

Soon...the winds died down and all I could catch was the remnants of Kaos's essence being absorbed by the token which in turn attached itself to Dhara's chest, burning into his skin until there was nothing but a hexagonal scar left.

And Kaos?...she looked like an ordinary fox now. I walked up to her and picked her up.

"My Lady..." Her head snapped to the side. Dhiji was by his brother, expectantly. She raised her head to look at me, her yellow eyes unblinking. I knew what I had to do.

I wrapped her in some of my essence and she hopped off from my arms and sprinted straight for the woods, not looking back once.

A long strained cough diverted my attention. Dhara was awake.
