Light shining in his eyes caused Embree to come back to the conscious world but as his searching eyes landed on strange walls his heart began beating faster. 'Where the heck am I? Did that alien take me to her hideout or meeting place with her kind? I DON'T WANT TO GET PROBED!' Unable to sit up, panic began to take hold of the young man now struggling to find something to help him up. In his panicked state of being, the older man went unnoticed until frightened eyes landed on him. A rough-looking taller man had scars that came over his lips and nose. A fresh-looking scar was now in place where the deep cut had been on his forearm yet Embree knew that it could not have healed that quickly. The silence was thick in the air as the two men stared at one another. A growl sounded from the older man then he cleared his throat. "You'll have to excuse my behavior. I sometimes have an issue keeping my other half under control when someone is challenging me without knowing it. What all do you want to ask before you leave?I don't think I can handle babysitting a mortal and my mission at hand all at once."
"You don't have to kill me if you tell me about what I witnessed?" Hesitation was very heavy in his voice. "No because I know no one will believe you." A deadpan look accompanied his reply. "I can agreed there. Though I don't really have close friends and my family threw me out like I was garbage when I was 16." Embree closed his eyes at the painful memories from those lonely tough times. "I can relate with that. I was abandoned by my parents back in much tougher times. Over time I have healed from those wounds and forgave them for their faults." A glimmer of sadness flashed in his cold dark blue eyes. "How long have you been a dog-man?" Unsure of what to call his transformation so he tried not to insult the stranger. "Werewolf." The sharpness of his tone spoke of his dislike of the Embree's wording. "Sorry? Wait then what was Lila? Is she an alien?" When the older man chuckled a bit Embree jerked in surprise and pain shot through his body once more. "Oh that hurts a lot." Concern crossed the other's face but he answered the question at hand. "She is a demon possessed witch. Margarita has been hunting alphas in order to gain control over packs all over the world. She already destroyed a few packs to use as fuel for her black magic."
Blinking a few times as his brain processed this new information then fear took hold of his heart. "Those are real? Are there vampires and other things from mythology that are really too?" Hearing his heart beat in his ears made panic creep into him. "There is no need to be afraid. There are many other creatures that exist from myth but they don't bother many people. They're in hiding like the rest of us. Though you do have these crazy ones that do stupid stunts like what, as you call her Lila, has done." Carrying a heavy tone in his voice as memoriesof all the bodies of murdered wolves flashed through his mind. "Over the 300 years I have been around she is the most terrible creature to have walked this earth." Shock was clear on Embree's face when he heard 300 years. "Wow you're a really old man. Where all have you lived over the that time span?"
A grumble left the older man's lips from being called old. "A lot of places, not just here in the states either. I am originally from Ireland. I lived in the area close to the Moores and that was where I was gifted this curse. Where my family had abandoned me and I had to chose whether to live or die." Pain shot through Embree once more and he felt a tickle in his throat so he coughed. As he weakly pulled his hand up to cover his mouth he seen red liquid spray his hand. 'Dang it, he must know I won't be able to survive my injuries which must be why he is telling me everything. Just my luck.' He tried to sigh but another cough hit him. A warm trickle was felt sliding down his chin. "I am regretful to say that I can not help you with this unless you are fully committed to living a new life and live by our rules." As he now was fighting for his breathe a sadness over came him. 'He is willing to change me into a werewolf like him? I guess that would be better then dying. How hard can it be to be alone and deal with massive shedding or fleas for that fact?' "Would I get fleas?" Another disapproving look settled on his face. "No we don't have to worry about them if we were our flea collars." His serious look turned softer as this comment made the younger man laugh which turned into another coughing fit.
"Are you willing to start a new life? I can end your suffering if you would like? Make it quick and painless." Embree knew this man was serious with his offer but fear seeped in again. "I know I can handle a new life. I'm not ready to leave this world just yet." He pleaded in between coughs. Speaking irritated his throat and it was getting harder to catch his breathe. A heaviness was setting on his chest more and more after he breathed out or coughed. "Then you agreed to becoming something more then just a fragile mortal? You accept this gift or curse that I am about to give to you? Once you accept this from me there is no going back to mortality."
"Agreed." It was becoming hard to see now, he felt lighter, almost as if he was floating. His eyes began to slowly close as the older male began to leaned in towards him. Then a soft spike of pain as something pierced his flesh was the last thing he remembered before darkness over took him. The older male stood there, watching the other man as his body temperature began to get higher. Trembles shook the younger man and his broken bones slowly mended over the next 2 days.
