Talisman Testing

(A/N: I'll edit this chap later. Enjoy!)

"We have arrived. There's still and hour before the aution starts." Tina pulled the car by side of the road. She pointed at the tall and luxurious building nearby and continued, "That's the building where the auction held. Do you want to go in now?"

Ban turned his head and examined the building. He nodded and asked, "Do you think I can auction an item there?"

"Item? You mean..." Tina was puzzled and asked.

"A treasure that a Divergent needed." Ban took a bracelet that has a protection talisman on it.

"This thing? What does it do?" Tina took the bracelet and examined it closely.

"A defensive bracelet. It is a talisman that can block an all out attack of any Divergents of 10th level up to 20 attacks. It can also replenish itself to be able to use again. At least for a day of replenishing." Ban explained briefly the functions of the bracelet.

Tina was shocked. Her hands trembled when she heard the explanation of Ban.

"You... You created this treasure?" Tina asked in disbelief. She recognized the material of the bracelet. This stones came from her store.

"Yes. You could say that." Ban chuckled and nodded in confirmation.

"D-Do you have more? I-I want to purchase this treasure for myself." Tina blushed as she carefully asked Ban.

"I have many of that. I can give you more for free if you provided that stones needed on it. It's just a hobby of mine." Ban shrugged his shoulder. Spending little Spirit Energies to create this thing is a breeze for him.

"Truly!?" Tina excitedly kissed Ban on the cheeks. However, her action paused and coughed lightly.

"W-Will it be fine if it's free? I can pay you money if you want."

Ban recovered from dazing as he felt his cheeks. He replied calmly, "It's fine. You're my friend. Of course, I'll help you about it. It's just a hobby of mine actually."

'Friend....' A look of dejection was seen on her lovely face.

"T-Thank you." Tina replied while bowing her head. Her mood was a little sour at the moment.

"Mm." Ban nodded and asked, "Is it sellable for aution then?"

Tina blinked her eyes a few times and recovered quickly. She nodded with a smile, "This treasure is indeed sellable. In fact, if the functions of it were true, this treasure is priceless for everyone out there."

She wasn't bluffing. A treasure like this is a life saver for any Divergents. Especially for Elementals since they are weaker in terms of defense.

"Great then. Let's go." Ban nodded with a smile.

"Okay." Tina directly parked the car into the building's parking lot.

...

Ban wore the sunglasses again and entered the building with Tina.

"Good evening, guests. May I know your purpose in coming here?" A polite black suited man asked the two.

"We are here for the auction. We have ticket entries." Tina replied calmly.

The man nodded and said, "The auction is in the 100th floor." He then beckoned to a woman next to him.

The woman nodded and escorted them to the elevator. She politely said, "This way, dear guests."

Tina didn't move and said, "I want to talk to your manager. I have a treasure that I will present to him for the auction."

Hearing a word treasure, the man's eyes light up and personally invited the two, "This way, guests."

The woman beside him remained in her position to receive the other guests.

...

*knock!* *knock!*

The man knocked the door on the 99th floor. Ban and Tina silently waited.

Ban examined the floor and narrowed his eyes at what he discovered.

'This whole floor is full of treasures.'

The floor looked simple, but every room have black suited Divergents guarding these treasures with care.

"Come in."

An old man's hoarse voice resounded in the voice prompt.

"Sir. Luke, There are guests that wanted to auction a treasure." The man respectfully stated.

"Oh?" A hunched back with white hair man glanced at Ban and Tina.

'10th level Enchant.'

Ban commented on his mind. This is the first time he saw a strongest Divergent so far. Tom was only at 9th back in his City.

Luke frowned at Ban and glared at the man, "Why's a mortal here too? Can't you recognized the rule of out auction house?"

"I'm sorry, guests, but our list on the auction for this year has been finalized. Your treasure will be display for next year's auction if it passes the appraiser's approval." He continued while staring at the duo.

"Are you sure old man? The thing I have can benefit a Divergent in the 10th level like you." Ban said nonchalantly as he looked down at the old man.

"Presumptuous!" A buffed black suited guard on the door approached Ban as he prepared to throw him out.

The old man raised his hand to stop the guard from his action. He narrowed his eyes at Ban and asked, "How do you know I'm in 10th level?" Nobody knows his level except the boss of this auction. He usually maintained a low key when he associated with everyone.

"Would you believe me if I told you I am a Divergent?" Ban chuckled and asked back. He continued while taking off his sunglasses, "I can tell your level even my eyes are closed."

"Interesting." The old man nodded. He waved his hand, "Follow me."

Ban and Tina followed the old man to a private room.

The old man beckoned the two to sit down and gave them tea each.

"What treasure do you want to sell?" The old man sat down as he sipped a glass of tea.

Ban nodded at the old man for being straightforward.

"This." Ban presented the bracelet to the old man.

"A bracelet? You're joking, right?" The old man stared at Ban in disbelief. He thought Ban was playing with him. He already commended Ban from being too calm earlier as he guessed this young man has more to him from his guts.

"Nope." Ban shook his head and explained the talisman on the old man.

The old man stared at Ban weirdly. He played along and asked, "So how does this thing work?"

"It will work automatically as long as it is within a person."

"Look here kid. If you really want to con me with your thing, this won't work on me." The old man was disappointed as he shook his head.

"Heh. Why not test it for yourself. I wear this and you can attack me with all your might." Ban suggested with a smile.

The old man frowned. He was silent for a while and waved his hand, "Follow me." He then left the room after that.

"You." The old man pointed at the buff man amd commanded, "Follow me."

The group entered on a dojo-like room.

"This man is a 5th level of Enchant. If you can defend his attack unscathed, I will consider putting your item on the auction tonight." The old man said to Ban.

Ban smiled and clapped his hands, "Perfect. Lets begin then." He then wore the bracelet on his hand and faced the buffed man.

"Ohoho. You should've left earlier, kid. Now it's too late for you to cry to your mama 'cause I'm gonna beat you senseless." The buffed man cracked his knuckles as he slowly approached Ban with a menace on his face.

"Please." Ban only smiled and beckoned to the man.

"Here I come!" The buffed man hurled a fist at Ban's face.

*Boom!* *Argh!*

The buffed man was thrown a few meters away from the recoil and slammed to the ground.

"..."

The buffed man shook his head from being dizzy. He glanced at Ban with puzzled expression.

"Damn it hurts!" He now noticed that his fingers were deformed without knowing.

The old man's eyes light up when he saw the result. He then waved at buffed man, "You can go. Treat your wounds to the infirmary."

The buffed man wanted to say something, but bowed his head and backed away.

"Interesting. I saw a curtain of light for an instant that covered your body in it." The old man caressed his white beard.

"Heh! Wanna try me, old man?" Ban smirked and said.

The old man raised a brow and hesitated for a while before nodding. He said, "You mentioned that it can withstand a full attack of 10th level Divergent up to 20 times, right? Then, I will try it for myself."

"I'm ready when you are." Ban nodded and beckoned to the old man.

"Tsk!*" The old man gave a snort and dashed at Ban with full speed. He was going all out in the first try.

*Boooom!*

The building shook violently like an 8th level of magnitude earthquake hit the area.

Everyone in the building panicked and sounded the alarm.

Tina covered her mouth in shock. She stared at the dust covered dojo in disbelief.

The old man was standing not far from Ban. He look at his fist in shock.

'What a powerful barrier! I can feel my arm trembling with pain.' This is the first time the old man felt pain after so many years of fighting with somebody.

However, Ban didn't fight back at all and old man skidded away from the impact of recoil.

The old man recovered from his stupor and took a device.

"False alarm. Return to your work."

Ban smiled as he glanced at the shocked old man. He said, "How is it? I can do this all day." He can since he has a way to replenish the talisman with energies needed.

"What happened here?"

An etherial voice resounded in the dojo.

The old man glanced at the incoming person with wide eyes.

A lady appeared in the scene, but contrary to her beautiful voice, her appearance was quite the opposite.

Her hair was disheveled and there's a saliva that came out from her mouth like she just woke up from a good night sleep. She wore a pajama and her curves were exposed in some angle. Her skin was so fair that she could be compared to Clara or his lovers.

"P-President." The old man bowed respectfully when he approached the lady.

Ban on the other hand was startled. He focused clearly and commented on his mind.

'A Profound Practitioner?'
