The meeting part 2. [Day 12]

Me: "You can either be a part of this meeting and I can help you with the bandit problem or you leave now. You choose." I then turn the conversation back to everyone.

Me: "I can provide help to deal with the bandit problem, but I am not going to fix it for you. It mainly depends upon what you want to me do."

Nilahr: "For myself, I don't need much just some help to remove the extra bandits, I can deal with the main ones. I just don't have enough soldiers to deal with the rest. If you help my village, we are willing to provide some of our services to your village."

Me: "That sounds like a good deal to me."

Some easy EXP for us and potential trade already.

Me: "What do the rest of you ne-"

Valeg: "You just need to kill all the bandits for me and that can be your payment."

Me: "No thanks. What can I do for you Alor?"

Alor: "Same as Nilahr I can handle the rest and same agreement."

Me: "Alright th-"

Valeg: "Hey you should be paying attention to me. Go deal with my bandits."

Me: "Not a very tempting offer. Liko how about yourself."

Liko: "If you are willing can you deal with the boss bandits. I can take care of the rest, but I don't feel confident enough to deal with her. I can also do the same deal as Nilahr."

Me: "That works for me."

Valeg: "Once you defeat the bandits, I will allow you to work for me and you can be under my protection. How is that for a deal."

Me: "Um, how about no."

This guy doesn't know how to make a deal and does he have to act so spoilt all the time. Why are there always people like this no matter where you are?

Flugl: "I can deal with the outer bandits you just need to deal with the boss. I can then give you all the bandit gear that you find and will promise to trade with your village later."

Something doesn't seem right with this.

Me: "Just out of curiosity how are you going to deal with the outer bandits."

Flugl: "You don't need to worry about that I can deal with them."

Something still feels off about him. Oh. Please tell me he is not a sleazy dealer type of person. He carries no weapons but claims he can deal with the other bandits. He also calls the leader of the bandit's boss, kind of suspicious. His deal is also very good except for the wording. We get the gear that we find, meaning if we find nothing, we get nothing. He says he promises to trade with the village later and with both, he can weasel his way out of if he wants. So yep, he is a sleazy dealer.

Me: "If I am going to be helping you guys, I will be spread a bit thin so I will have to do some before others. How quickly can the bandits communicate between each village?"

Alor: "Not very quickly it can take them many days to get any word of what is happening in other villages they are more likely to get news by spying on the other village."

Me: "That's good for us then. How far are you all from this village?"

Alor: "Valeg is a day away from here to the southeast, Liko is two days away to the east, I am three days away to the south, Flugl is two days away to the southwest and Nilahr is four days away to the southwest, along the river."

Valeg: "Wait shooty boy why do you know so much about every village?"

Alor: "Because unlike you I pay attention to my surrounds and what is going on."

Me: "Alright no need to get into an argument Alor is just a very observant person who likes to know his surroundings. But that is beside the point I think I have a plan of action for our approach. I will head east and go to Liko village and deal with the head bandits. Valret will lead his squad and another to Nilahr village to help once he has done that he will head back and go to Flugl village and deal with the bandits with the help of Flugl. Then the rest of our guard squad will go to Alor village and deal with the extra bandits."

Valeg: "Then you will all help me deal with the bandits. Always pay attention to the most important person."

Me: "No I was just planning to let you deal with it seeing how you said that you can beat me in a fight you should be able to easily defeat them yourself."

Valeg: "Of course I can beat a coward like you, but the bandits are much stronger than you."

Me: "There is no way that they can be stronger than someone as outstanding and powerful as you."

Valeg: "mmm. Yes, they must be weaker than me as you are weaker than I and weakness can see weakness. I have no need for you anymore I can easily deal with the bandits myself."

He then processed to stand up and leave the house presumably heading back to his village.

Me: "Alright with the planning done do any of you have any questions."

Nilahr: "How long until you can set off to help us."

Me: "All the squads and I can head off tomorrow."

Nilahr: "That is perfect then we can wait here then and lead them to our villages."

Me: "Good idea, you can all stay in my house there are spare bedrooms upstairs that you can use."

Flugl: "Great, please lead me to my room today has been exhausting making our way here."

Leaving the table, I show the four of them the spare rooms upstairs where Flugl goes to sleep whilst the rest decide to explore the village and area. Whilst the rest of them are away I motion Valret over.

Me: "Valret for the plan tomorrow after your battle at Nilahr is done come back to the village instead of heading to Flugl village. I don't trust him. Instead, what I want you to do instead is have one of the village runners from Nilahr village or however, they communicate with each other. Have them tell Flugl that you had too many casualties and are where not strong enough to help his village. Then once we are all here together, we can plan what we want to do with his village."

Valret: "Are you sure about this you could be creating an enemy when there was none."

Me: "Once you have lived and meet enough sleazy and desperate people you can spot them a mile away."

Valret: "If you are sure then I will follow your lead."

Me: "Rest up Valret everything is about to get cranked up to 100."
