Chapter 44

Slumped over on his knees on the motel room bed, Adam was exhausted and looked a mess. The FBI had been snooping around and he found his condo ransacked when he arrived back in LA.

The local news had shown the man Drew had spoken to had given details of Adam's connection after his mother's story hit the five o'clock news. They were now looking into Adam for helping in her line of black widow murders. Due to the stress that he was under, his connection to her wasn't even something he hadn't considered when he turned her in. That meant they possibly knew his real name and his criminal background as to why they were looking for him. His mother would rat him out in a heartbeat if it meant saving her own ass.

Sneaking out the back of the luxury apartment building, he and Victoria managed to dodge being seen by police who were scouting out the building.
