Chapter 45

Eve had settled into Hunters guests' room and few days of being there it felt like home. As much as she loved being with her best friend, she knew eventually their lives would go on different paths, but they would always be family.

On a little trip down the beach to visit Greg, the group sat cross legged on the floor of the luxury home. Eve and Hunter were playing the card game Old Maid with Harper, while Greg was sprawled out on the couch with Drew, watching the news.

Since they had gotten their Hunter hadn't lost sight of Drew. He didn't trust him one bit, but he understood Eve's need to be near Greg whenever she could. They were each other's lifelines in since, and almost like siblings. Being so close to his brothers and sisters, it was easy for him to understand.

"Old Maid! I win again Daddy!" Harper cheered.

Throwing the first full of cards on the floor he laughed. "Dang it. I hate this game."

"Daddy always loses, Evey."

"He's also a sore loser," Eve laughed.
