Chapter 52: Strictly Business

Nick Ashford was sitting in his living room, looking out the window watching the rain hit the window pane. It was a dreary early fall day in Orlando, yet it was a nice break from the heatwave they had been having. The clock on the wall ticked in unison with the water dripping on the windowpane, setting his teeth on edge. He had been a nervous wreck all morning, hoping the trainer he was hiring would work out this time. Awaiting his new fitness coach, he was ready to get back in the MMA ring once and for all and was eager to meet them.

Truth was, being the acting Vice President of the Ashford Sports organization wasn't all that bad. He just felt as if he was too young to settle down into an office job; at least just yet. He was one of the top fighters in the MMA and he still had some fight left in him.
