Chapter 64

At the gym Sam made her way into the MMA ring. She shook off the pain she had been feeling all day and got right back into work mode. 

"Let's do this, pretty boy."

Nick had called for one of the Star Fight trainers to work him in the ring and the man was already waiting for them when they arrived. She had Nick do a few of his signature moves and they to men spared for about half an hour before he took a break. It was surprising how limber he was in the ring after such a traumatic injury. 

The truth was, he could have been back to fighting far sooner, but the worry of having another injury had set his mental state back months. Knowing he needed to be confident in the ring to win, he kept dragging his feet to get it done, but with Sam in his corner, it seemed he was getting his fighting spirit back. Something about her just made him want to work harder than he ever had before.
