The Party

*THUMP THUMP THUMP*

The music made it hard to hear things, so when my brother shouted something to me, I just shrugged. He grinned and waltzed over to the drinks. Earlier, Able and I had driven a whole hour to get to this party, which was in a forest clearing.

I looked at the drink in my hand, the alcohol in my stomach making my vision blurry. Someone bumped into me and I stumbled. Strong hands grabbed my arm and held me upright.

I grinned up at their face, the details fuzzy, and lifted my drink to my lips. As I took a swig, they began pulling me away from the crowd.

I frowned. I didn't want to go that way. I wanted to keep partying! I tried to pull my arm out of his grasp but his grip was tight.

"Heeey." I slurred. "Where we goin'?"

The boy...man...whoever he was didn't stop.

We walked for a couple of minutes. Well, he walked and I tripped and stumbled, before coming to a stop. The thumping of the music was far away now. I felt a sense of dread, but the alcohol swept the feeling away. Instead, I was just annoyed. I had already finished my drink and had left it on the ground a while back.

"Take me back!" I growled angrily.

The person just laughed and glanced around like he was looking for something. That something arrived shortly after.

Rustling in the bushes and trees indicated another presence. Then, two more figures walked out of the trees.

"This him?" one of them asked. Male.

"Yeah." The guy next to me said. His voice was deep, but it wasn't gravelly.

The other figure stayed quiet but walked up to me.

I backed up a step but was nudged forwards by the guy who dragged me out here.

"H-hey. What's going on?" I stammer, cursing the alcohol that had seemed so wonderful. My drunken brain wasn't functioning right!

The other figure stops about a foot away from. "Ssshh. It's going to be ok."

Female. She sounds nice.

NO! I tell myself. Whatever is happening here is not nice!

I step back again, only to bump into the guy behind me. I look up at him and gulp. Suddenly, my fear gets the best of me and I dart to my left. I got a few yards before I tripped on a root and fell, knocking the wind out of my body.

The sound of shoes crunching leaves gets closer before they stop. Someone turns me over on my back, before covering my mouth with a rag.

Wait. No! NO! I thrash, trying to throw them off, but someone else holds me down as well. I hold my breath, refusing to breathe. When my head starts to pound, I'm forced to breathe in.

The sickly sweet smell of the rag fills my nose, my lungs. I try one more time to get them off of me but it's useless. My eyelids grow heavy and finally, they drop shut. The forest sounds fade away as the world goes utterly dark.
