Curse

On the way home from Melinda's grandmother's house, there was no meaningful conversation in the car. They were all silent with their thoughts and Jane was trying to stay focused on her driving activities.

Abriella, who was sitting in the same chair as before, just stared at the necklace given by Melinda's grandmother who was called the antidote to that dream. Abriella thought about whether she should listen to what Melinda's grandmother had to say, or whether she should go back to meet David and reveal who the culprit was that had killed the man.

"Ella..." The call woke Abriella from her daydream. The woman turned to Melinda who had just called her and looked at her intently. The car that Jane was driving had stopped at a rest area because Jane felt that she needed time to rest.

"Jane said she wanted to go to the toilet and rest here for a bit. Let's find a restaurant for lunch!" Take Melinda to Abriella who nodded her head slowly. The woman just realized that Jane and Natasha had left the car, had already gone out to go to the toilet.

Melinda and Abriella walked towards a fast food restaurant that served a variety of drinks such as soda, coffee, juice, and mineral water. The two women sat at a table provided outside the restaurant because they felt that they should breathe fresh air rather than stay in the restaurant and inhale the smell of meat.

"Is something bothering you, Ella?" Melinda asked Abriella who was silent and stared at her intertwined fingers. Abriella raised her head to look at the worried-looking Melinda.

Abriella immediately gave a smile to Melinda, so that her friend would not worry about her, she also said that she was fine with a fake smile painted on her face. "No Mel, I'm fine." That was the answer Abriella gave to Melinda, which didn't succeed in making the woman believe it.

"I know, maybe you don't want to talk about what's bothering you right now. But, if you have something you want to talk to us about, please talk about it… Okay?" Said Melinda who couldn't do anything or force Abriella to tell her, and the nod of her head was what she got after saying that.

"Want to order something? I'll order it!" Melinda spoke again and offered something to Abriella when she saw Jane and Natasha had come back from the toilet and were walking towards them.

"Hmm... Order anything, I can eat it as long as it's edible." Abriella replied with a joke in her words, which made Melinda chuckle softly. The woman also asked the same thing to Natasha and Jane who had just arrived and sat on the empty chairs at their desks.

"Just fries and a soda!" Natasha replied, apparently preferring to order potatoes and soda, while Jane stood up from her place and said that she would come with Melinda to order food.

"I'm coming!" And after that Melinda and Jane went inside to order food for them.

Now there were only Natasha and Abriella at the table, silent and staring at each other. "Do you not believe what Melinda's grandmother Ella said?" Natasha asked who looked very serious about the matter. Abriella, who heard the question, couldn't help but stare at Natasha who was still waiting for an answer from her with a look full of seriousness.

Flashback

"You will follow him into that world, and will die in this world! Because it's too risky for you. The proof is that your breath always stops when you meet him!" Upon hearing that answer, Abriella reflexively stood up from her seat. Surprised his three friends, except for the old woman in front of her who now only looked at her intently. They all stared at Abriella, who was now breathing heavily.

Abriella did not feel angry at what Melinda's grandmother said, she only felt afraid and did not believe what Melinda's grandmother said. Abriella has always believed that David was only part of her dream, and if it was a reality or even she had returned to the past, Abriella believed it was all because David wanted the mystery of his death to be uncovered. David wants the people who killed him to be known, and that's what Abriella has always believed. And it wasn't something that would kill her, or that it was David's words asking them to meet again that would eventually get her killed.

Abriella was sure that David would not do that to kill himself indirectly.

"So you're saying that David cursed me?" That was the question that came out of Abriella's mouth who did not understand the meaning of Melinda's grandmother's words.

The old woman shook her head slowly and replied, "I didn't say that he cursed you… This all happened because he coincidentally remembered you in the last moments of his life. It was that strong desire that was accompanied by a grudge against someone that resulted in his death that made all of this happen. I don't know for sure if he swore when he died or not, but look at what's happened to you right now. I'm sure he has taken an oath that I do not know what the content of the oath is. I'm just providing a solution so you don't get involved in the problem, this will be very dangerous because it involves death!" The long explanation managed to make Abriella speechless.

...

"Ella!" Abriella blinked her eyes and woke up from her daydream which recalled when Melinda's grandmother gave that explanation to her. Abriella is now looking at Natasha who is sitting across from her waiting for an answer to the question she asked Abriella earlier.

"Hh..." Abriella breathed heavily, she nodded her head repeatedly while saying that she believed what Melinda's grandmother said to her.

"I believe her, Natasha. I just didn't think that if I entered into the oath that was said by David... What was the content of the oath? Did he swear to see me again?" Abriella asked Natasha who could only shake her head and be silent because she also didn't know what oath David had said at that time.

Abella fell silent again and looked at the necklace she was still wearing.
