Mystery 6: -If you managed to find the red arrow inside the school's storage room, a treasure awaits you-

It was three in the afternoon when Arya decided to go out in her usual summer dress. As she was about to leave her house, she was greeted by a peculiar sight. After what happened last night, I decided to take the initiative and was waiting for Arya outside her house.

"Reve?" Arya asked in astonishment.

"Y-yo." I was also in my usual shirt and short attire as if both of us planned what we were supposed to wear.

"What are you doing here?"

"Well, aren't we going to continue our adventure?"

"Yes, but... I thought we decided that we will start at 4pm."

"Well, knowing you. You might suddenly come at my house earlier than expected. And besides, adventure doesn't have any schedule right?" I said as I imitate Arya. I was not sure if this was something I should say but I really wanted to cheer Arya up.

"Reve." Arya said in a rather affectionate manner. It seems like my intention got through to Arya. Realizing this, Arya simply nodded and smiled. "Well, I guess we should go."

With our newly reconciled friendship, the two of us continued our adventure.

"So, where are we going again?" I asked. This time, I tried to sound more interested than before.

"According to this notebook, it seems like we need to go to our school."

"Hmm. By the way, I've been meaning to ask this. Where did you get that notebook?" I asked as we are walking.

But instead of answering, Arya just smiled and said, "It's a secret. Now, we need to hurry! Our school is quite far from here after all."

"Hey!"

Arya ran gleefully as I chased after her. But what started as a chase became a race. The two of us started racing towards the school. And, as expected, we have arrived in no time. Both of us may be breathless and tired, but smile was very much visible on our faces.

"You aren't bad." I said as I try to catch my breath. It's been a while since we raced like this so I was feeling pretty refreshed.

"I'm faster than you." Arya was also catching her breath. "It's been a while since we had a race like this."

"Yeah, and it's also been a while since I moved my body this much."

"Now, let's go. We don't have time to rest, you know?" Even though she was still catching her breath, Arya still managed to make such a suggestion with a smile.

I simply smiled back and nodded as I look at her beautiful smile. Why was it that whenever I looked at Arya, I can't help but find her beautiful? Even with that face covered in sweat, her smile looked as vibrant as the morning sun. After that confirmation, the two of us started running again. But this time, it's no longer a race. We were just having fun and were now both excited as to what the mystery would bring. After getting school permission, we directly went to the storage room. But soon enough, our excitement turned to astonishment. For this mystery brought us an impossible task harder than the mystery in the lake.

"This is the storage room?" I said as I swallow my words.

"According to the notebook, this should be it. But, I didn't expect this." Even Arya is in disbelief.

What was in front of us was far from a normal storage room. It was big, and the inside was surely a mess. Several broken ply woods were scattered on the floor. The room was filled with dust and it seemed like it didn't receive any cleaning for ages. The lights were also broken, and the lock of the door seemed to be in the same condition. Finally, to add in their problem was the mystery itself.

"What does this red arrow mean anyway?" I pointed out as I start questioning the mystery. Simply stating that we should look for a red arrow was far too vague. Was it an actual arrow? A mark perhaps? We really don't have any idea.

"Well, I also don't know."

"This might be hard. We don't even know how big it is or where exactly it is located."

"Well, why don't we just start searching?" Arya, who also seemed to share the same feeling as I, suggested.

"Good thing we brought a flashlight." I said in relief as I turn the flash light on.

Since we only have one flashlight, we both decided to search together. After searching for what seems to be hours, the two of us, covered in dirt, failed to find a single trace of the red arrow.

"Ah! We've been searching and searching but still no signs of the red arrow." Even Arya started to complain.

"It's surprising that you are the one to complain first. But given the situation, I completely agree." I said as I wipe away the sweat on my forehead.

We decided to leave the room for a while to catch some fresh air. But when we were near the exit, a loud thud was heard throughout the room. The door was shut. And due to the sudden noise, Arya dropped the flashlight, breaking it. We were left inside the dark room all locked up.

"So-sorry." Arya said apologetically.

"Don't worry about it. Wait, I'll just go and check th-" I tried to go to the exit but was pulled back by Arya.

"Don't leave me."

"I won't, I'll just go and check it"

"No." Arya was shaking. "Don't leave my side please."

"Arya, are you? Fine, I'll just be here. I won't leave you." I assured Arya as I pat her head.

Arya drew closer to me and rested her head at my chest. The room was then filled with utter silence. Only the breathings of the two of us can be heard. We remained in that position for who knows how long. And all that while, I can smell Arya's sweet scent and hear her heavy breathing. It was unbearably stimulating that I needed to remind myself to keep calm over and over again. After what seems to be an eternity, things have finally calmed down. I gently pushed Arya away from my chest, revealing Arya's face.

"You, you're crying?"

"Shut up."

"Are you afraid of the dark?"

"N-No! I'm just not good with it." Arya replied with a mixture of embarrassment and denial.

"What's with that?" I laughed as I try to lighten the mood.

"Meanie!"

With that awkward yet comforting exchange, both of us started laughing.

"Thank you." Arya said as she hides her face.

"Hmm?"

"For not leaving me. I really appreciated that."

"I see." I was flustered. I can't really be used to this kind of Arya. "How can I leave you anyway?"

"That's what I really liked about you." Arya murmured, almost inaudible.

"Huh? What did you say?"

"Nothing. Anyway, what are we going to do now?"

As soon as Arya asked the question, the door opened. And in front of us was a bearded old guy wearing a plain blue pants and an oversized blue polo. He was our school janitor.

"What are you doing?" The janitor asked. I stared at the janitor for a while before catching something at the corner of my eyes. As if being forced to, my attention trailed towards the small red marking just beside the sliding metal door.

"Ah! AAAAHH!!" I suddenly shouted as if discovering a hidden treasure. Well, considering what the mystery was about, my reaction was very much appropriate. Well, at least that's how I saw it. Both the janitor and Arya looked at me like a strange creature for shouting unintelligibly. But paying no attention to their reactions, I quickly approached the janitor and started asking for permission. At first, he just gave me another weird look. But after begging the janitor to let us dig the area where the arrow was pointing as if I was begging for my life, he finally allowed us after giving a deep, stressed sigh.

"I knew there were people locked up in here. But I can't believe you were doing something like this." The janitor sighed once more.

"How? How did you know we were here?" I asked with a hint of relief in my voice.

"Well, I heard a loud sound a while ago so I thought that it must be coming from the old storage room. I was then informed that some students went inside, so I immediately went to check. And look what I found." The janitor laughed as he explains.

"We really are sorry."

"You shouldn't really be hanging out with your girlfriend in a place like this. Be more careful young man." The janitor teased.

"Ah well, she is not-" I tried to explain that she wasn't really my girlfriend but was interrupted by the janitor.

"I got it, I got it. Anyway, what's with that box?" The janitor pointed at a small box Arya was holding. After allowing us to dig, Arya and I worked together to find this so called treasure.

"Well, we were actually investigating this mystery. It says that we should look for a red arrow and we will find a treasure." Arya explained.

"Oh, a treasure. Well, please be careful next time. This storage room has been untouched for about 10 years now. We have a new one over there." The janitor pointed to the other side of the school. "By the way, what did you find?"

"Pendant!" Arya said excitedly as she presents the pendant we have found. Looking at it, there really wasn't anything special about it. The pendant had a very simple crescent moon design attached to a plain silver chain. In fact, it looked rather cheap, like one of those accessories a kid would buy at a discount shop. But despite that fact, Arya seemed to be pretty happy about it. I guess the fact that we managed to uncover the mystery was indeed something to be happy about.

After thanking the janitor, we left the school. Since we consumed a lot of time being locked up inside the old storage room, by the time we left, it was already night time.
