Killing the Ice Sparrow (Part 2)

Quietly flying through the tunnels that all lead to somewhere in the massive cavern, Luna followed a familiar path that she had gone through numerous times to be ready for when they would kill the ice sparrow. She wanted to be careful, of course, seeing the guards rarely had any beast cores, and since she already knew most of the guards attacks, it was easy taking care of them all, especially with Lili's magic. But this ice sparrow was a queen, and had been unmatched for 50 years, according to Lili, as they had once memorised the beast habitats near them, to watch out for danger. They didn't know what sort of magic the ice sparrow had, and even if it was probably similar to the guards, queens all normally tended to have some sort of ace, that would guarantee them a victory if they used it at the right moment, which could also be logically something that could counter Lili's void magic. Peeking out the flora that was obstructing the entrance from the ice sparrow, they had a perfect view of the sparrow's normal spot. It was in a bird nest made of a sort of shiny material that looked like gold, except it wasn't, and the whole nest seemed golden, which was a bit strange for a ice sparrows nest, as Lili had once risked it and flew close to the edge of the nest, and she had reported the material to be quite soft.

Although the nest was in a high position, it wasn't at the top of the cavern, so there was plenty of spots where the plants grew wild across the wall, covering entrances that were just far enough to not be seen, but close enough so they could stalk the ice sparrow in peace without straining their eyes. Right now was the time that the ice sparrow normally went to fly out, carrying along with 2 other baby chicks that she assumed were the sparrows new children, considering the fact that there was 5 other eggs in their nest. She had memorised the sparrows time table, and normally around this time, the ice sparrow would take her children out to fly, even when they were only a few days old. But she supposed that in this world, life was more brutal, and the mothers would train their children in harsher ways, and if they didn't survive? Simply having a couple more children would fix the problem in no time. "Psst- Luna, they're quite far away now, you want to start carrying out the plan?"

"Ok, make sure to keep a lookout, I can only disguise my aura, not my entire being."

"You got it!"

Their plan was simple. Wait until the sparrow was far away enough, then have Luna disguise her aura to a simple bug which they noticed was quite common in the cavern, with Lili looking out in case the sparrow decided to come back for any reason. Then set up some traps, make sure the sparrow eggs won't hatch, then get ready to kill the ice sparrow and perhaps the two babies if they tried to interfere. Lili had argued about the last one, but Luna thought it was totally reasonable enough. Their mother was just going to make them a guard when they grow up, so it was basically freeing them from child labour. Besides, if they didn't kill them if they interfered in the battle, they would probably get hurt in some other way, or they would be an annoying distraction in the right moments. After telling Lili all that, she had reluctantly agreed, but Luna reckoned that Lili won't give them any fatal injuries, and would probably only make them pass out. Honestly, that sort of hesitance was going to get her killed one day. So they set out the traps, put the eggs aside into her spatial ring, as they were technically not living being yet, even though they were probably alive in the egg.

As {redacted} gazed at the ruined town in front of her, {redacted} grinned with delight. Finally, her masterpiece will be close to completion! All she needed now was the Ancient Moon Flower, which had conveniently bloomed recently, and her creation would be complete! Really, she had to thank Rosina one day, she'd destroyed this town with only a small bit of persuasion from her magic, and now she could spend way less effort clearing out the ground beneath the town for the holding place of the Lustrous Soul Mirror, a key part in her masterpiece! {redacted} quickly began her search, looking through ever tunnel underground. Most of the tunnels were under this large estate, so {redacted} guessed that they were into shady business. One of the tunnels that had the most condensed soul aura looked like it was forced open, so maybe it was Rosina did it for her. Honestly, that girl was so thoughtful! {redacted} knew rewriting Rosina's memory to think they were good friends was a good play of them!
