"This isn't for me, Louis," Lisa said and threw that paper on the ground with teary eyes, denying the reality. Her hands tightened on her purse and a feeling of hurt flickered in her eyes. Various emotions flashed through her eyes but the pain of losing her mother was dominating one. It was unbelievable to her, but she denied it in her heart.
To go through that heart-wrenching pain again? She doesn't want to go through the same path as before when her dad left her alone in this selfless world.
"No, this can't happen again, No mom you can't do this to me?" she mumbled and hurriedly asked Louis about her whereabouts.
"L-O-U-I-S?" she whimpered.
"WHERE IS SHE?"
Louis panicked hearing the questions, he didn't wish that her life was full of pain and suffering but for her, he always prayed for her happiness in her life but everything isn't according to people.
"Lisa, listen to me-"
"Where is she?" that time there was stay in her tone, Lisa seems to have sworn that she would not let him complete his phrase.
"There," he pointed out at the front room, where the dead bodies are kept for postmortem.
"Why she is here?"
"Louis?" she asked and held his hand in hope that he must have made the wrong move.
A tear left his eyes, wiling that off he looked at her face and cupped, "You can't change the fact, Lisa. Please try to act rational," but Lisa yanked his hands and moved to his mother.
"Mom, you ask him. He may tell you," Lisa said to her with pleading eyes.
But she turned her face sideways to avoid tears.
Seeing that nurse passing by the corridor, she stopped her and asked about her mother.
"Excuse me, nurse. Can you tell me where is Ms Ava_" her face had a normal expression because maybe her mind accepted the truth but her heart didn't believe in that letter, Louis silence and her mother's words.
"Are you Lisa?" that nurse asked.
Instantly nodding at her question, she smiled.
"It was the last word that your mother uttered before leaving this world," the nurse explained.
"Last? What do you mean by that?"
"She is no more, and before she could complete her sentence, she felt pain in her cheeks, Lisa slapped her.
"Lisa?" Louis uttered and tried to calm her down by hugging her.
"Please, don't do that,"
"Then why she said that my mom is no more, she is alive, she can't live me. I know that she promised me that she would never let off my hand, Louis,"
She pulled away and again came up with the same question.
"Tell me where is she?"
"Lisa please, she is not with us anymore," Louis whispered.
At the mention of "she is not with us anymore," she shouted at him.
"DON'T TALK LIKE THAT, LOUIS,"
"Lisa, this is a hospital. Don't shout," his mother whispered, putting hands on her shoulder.
"Why is he talking like that then?" Lisa stiffened. She still tried to be reasonable thinking that he was not at fault but she didn't want to accept the truth.
"I'm sorry, Lisa. Come with me," Louis said and held her hand. Lisa thought that he was taking her to her mother but yes it was true that Louis was taking her but to make Lisa accept the reality or the harsh truth that her mother had left her.
Entering the postmortem, Lisa grew suspicious. "This is not the place, I guess," she uttered.
But Louis pulled her in front of her mother's dead body.
"She is here," he said.
Proceeding with steps, she seemed to utter her mother softly and forwarded her hand to pull off the covers from her face. Slowly rubbing out it from her face, she shut her eyes and ripped it off in one go.
Opening her eyes, she looked at her mother's grave, she froze on her spot for a moment.
"M-O-M? M-O-M, gEt Up plEasE," she tried to move her body with her hands but she didn't move an inch from there neither opened her eyes.
Then a shrill scream echoed in that room, Louis went to her side and supported her with his hands.
"You can't leave me here," she cried out and rested her head over her.
Her sobbed were quite loud, "please don't leave me, you both left me here. What I gonna do without you, please come back," she cried while Louis caressed her back, some tears rolled down her cheeks, watching her like that.
He gathered courage and whispered, "Lisa, Let's go outside after the autopsy, we can have her body,"
"Leave me alone for some time,"
"But-"
"Please, go," Lisa whined.
Louis didn't want to make her feel upset so, he moved outside the room and saw his mother standing outside there. He hurriedly went near to her and hugged her tightly.
"No matter how much I try to stay strong for her but I can't help her. She has already experienced the pain, suffering when she lost her father but I don't know what she will be like," Louis whimpered.
For some, it sounds like men don't cry but there must be someone to ask. He never felt ashamed of crying and sharing his feelings.
His mother patted his back and pulled out to face her.
"I know that but whom she needs right now is you, she had a painful past but you are the one who can bring her a beautiful future. Trust your love and you will make it easier for her," his mother assured him and wiped the tears from his face.

"I poured all of my efforts into doing everything as before but why my fate is so wrong. I always did good but why is it me who always face wrongs. I never thought I would lose you, but when I lost dad and you came then. I believed that my life would be easy from then on but why I faced suffering. I can't bear it, mom. You know that I trusted my life with you that whenever you are there to hold my hand then I don't have to care about anything. But now what I would be doing without you. I am alone without you. Please don't leave me. I will miss you so much. And I promise you that I will take care of myself in the best way possible and raise your granddaughter as you wanted. I love you. Sleep well," Lisa whimpered those painful words and pecked her forehead before leaving the room.
Glancing at her for the last time, she wiped her tears, she went out of the room.
"Lisa?" he mumbled.
She passed a smile to him but he knew that she was just trying to push her pain off her face and her heart.
Without further asking, he hugged her tightly.
She patted his back as if he was the one who was hurt. And of course, he was hurt.
"Are you okay?" he whispered.
"I'm okay," she mumbled.
But it was obvious that she wasn't alright but then she tried to stay strong for her mother.
Pulling away, he adored her face and noticed dried tears on her face. Wiping those tears, he caressed her hair.
But she hissed in pain as well as screamed out of pain but it was not because of her mother but the baby inside. Her hands were down on her stomach.
"L-O-U-I-S?" she whispered in pain.
"Doctor?" he yelled and pulled her in his arms and ran for help.
Putting her down on the bed, he went outside the room.
Her doctor exam the situation, and looked after the baby if the baby was alright.
"Is my baby alright?" Lisa asked the doctor.
