Finally

Mark quickly put the 200 goblin marbles inside his ring and walked into the house.

"Sister, I'm home," he said.

"Huh? Mark. Were you the one knocking on the door?" she asked.

"Uhh… yeah, that was me. Anyway, did you eat? Were you watching TV?" he asked.

"Yeah, I was eating right now. I came to see who was knocking. Are you going to eat too?" she asked.

"Um, no. Just eat and watch the TV. I will go to my room," he said and swiftly went to his room. He couldn't wait to go increase the experience of his goblin warrior.

He quickly went to his room and locked the door. As swiftly as he could, he took out the black box and took the only marble in there, and checked it.

It was a Goblin Archer.

"Tsk. Could've given me a goblin warrior at least," he said and put the goblin archer aside before taking out 9 goblin marbles. He then put the 9 marbles all around the insides of the black box.

He wanted to test something, so he even put one in the middle as well, leaving only a single spot at the top.

He then took out the goblin warrior marble from his body and put it into the top hole.

"You should be able to get 100% by the end of the day," he said and closed the lid. As soon as he did that, green light started leaking out from the black box.

"Can I check what is happening inside? Should I even?" he wondered, but curiosity got the best of him. So, he opened the black box while it was still at work.

Or at least he tried to. However, no matter what he did, the black box just wouldn't open up. "Damn, why is it so hard?" he thought.

He was still not sure what the black box was. "Just how can something merge 10 monsters into a single one?" he wondered. The origins of the box just brought up more questions when he thought about it.

"Whatever. It does what it does for now. That's enough for me. Either way, how much experience did I get?" Mark wondered and opened his status page.

A blue translucent screen that only he could see appeared in front of him.

"Hmm… that's an 8% increase? We were 5 people so it's not that bad," he thought. He had nothing to do so he just used his phone while waiting for the box to do its work.

After 15 minutes or so, the box stopped glowing.

"Hmm… oh, it's done," Mark said as he quickly got up and opened the black box. Now that it was over, the box opened as easily as ever.

When he opened the box, there was only one single marble in it, and it was at the center of the box.

'Is it still my goblin warrior? I put it on the top of the box,' he thought and took out the marble. He put it in light to confirm that it was in fact a goblin marble.

Then, he took it back into his body. As if it was used to it, the marble easily flew off into Mark's body and disappeared.

'It is my goblin,' Mark thought.

He quickly checked the status and once again confirmed that the goblin had gotten experience, and it did.

The goblin warrior was now at 70%.

Mark once again took out the goblin warrior and put it in the box, along with 9 different goblin marbles.

And the waiting game started once more. No matter how excited he was, the wait was just too boring.

And this time, it even took nearly half an hour. "Oh god, why is it taking so long? Sometimes it happens in 5 minutes, and sometimes it takes half an hour. Is there logic behind these times or is it just random?" he thought.

However, he believed there to be logic behind those numbers. It after all only increased the more he made it work.

"Could it be that the higher the experience it has the longer it takes?" he thought. But that couldn't have been the case because there were times last night when it took longer than it was taking today.

So, he gave up on finding any legitimate answers and just rested. Soon, the goblin warrior was done getting experience.

He took out and checked his status. 80%.

2 more turns to go.

He did the entire thing once again. 9 goblin marbles, 1 goblin warrior marble, and 1 black box. When those things were together, it wasted another 40 minutes of his time.

During these 40 minutes, he decided what to do next.

"I can sell the goblin warrior, goblin archer, and goblin wizard marbles for quite a lot. That should help me earn enough money to pay for the rent," he thought.

"After that… I will have to go back to the dungeons, only this time, I will be the one hunting," he thought.

"Gosh, how I wish I could just stay at home and earn money by selling the goblin warriors. Alas, I need to find the cure for sister's amnesia," he thought.

"I should do this for 2 more days and then get my license on Sunday. That should be a good time to finally become an official hunter and stop my work as a porter," he thought.

Once again, the black box stopped glowing. "Oh it's done?" he thought and quickly opened the box to take out his goblin marble.

He didn't have to check it, but he still did. And as expected, the goblin warrior was at 90%.

"Just one more time," he thought and took out 9 more goblin marbles. He put them inside the black box and put this goblin warrior marble in as well.

Then, he closed the lid and watched as the green light started spilling out from the black box for the last time.
