Test Over

The sound of the boss's body falling to the ground made a sound loud enough to bring the 4 students out of their stunned state.

"The boss… is dead?" Ayral couldn't believe her eyes.

"I think it's dead," Seph said.

"He didn't even need our help," Tim said.

"Holy Sh*t dude. You killed the boss, you're awesome," Ross was the only one celebrating the victory while the others were still trying to get their head around what had happened.

"Now that I think about it…isn't he the one that nearly beat Tina?" Seph said.

"What?" Aryal said and took a closer look. "Holy Sh*t, you're right. I was so far away that I didn't even see who it was at the time."

"No wonder, he can beat the boss so easily."

While the group was talking, Mark walked towards the boss's dead body and pulled out the swords from its eyes, spreading eye and brain matter all over the ground.

After all the fight, he wasn't even breathless. He went straight to his next task.

He waved the sword around a bit to get the blood and stuff off of it. Then, he started skinning the boss skillfully.

With all the experience he had with cutting open the boss, it didn't take him very long to fully skin the boss, and found a mana stone.

He looked at the pigeon's egg-sized blue translucent stone and walked back towards the place where he had kept the bag full of skins and mana stones and stored the loot.

He then finally turned to look at the party. They were all silently looking at his work.

"What's wrong? Aren't we gonna leave now?" he asked.

"Haah? That's all you're going to say after killing the boss of the dungeon?" Tim asked.

"I mean, what else can I say?" he asked.

"Sigh, alright, let's leave. We still need to finish our test," Ayral said and left the boss room. The rest of the group soon followed, and behind them, the teacher followed in silence.

The goblin warrior was carrying the backpack so they left the dungeon pretty quickly. As soon as they left the dungeon's gate, the goblin warrior turned to white light and returned back to Mark as a marble.

He kept it into his body and asked the group, "How do we share the loot?"

The 4 guys looked at each other and said, "You should just keep it. We wouldn't have passed if not for you."

"You guys sure? This will give us about 300 units," he said.

"Yeah, we're sure," they said.

"Very well then," he said and took the whole backpack in.

Then they walked further away from the gate and saw a whole lot of people already in the field.

"Huh? Did they finish before us?" Ross said in shock.

"It's not that surprising. They probably didn't collect any loot in the dungeon. Otherwise, with our speed, I doubt we would've lost," they said.

Everyone including Mark nodded.

They waited a little longer for other people to arrive as there were still quite a few in the dungeon.

While waiting, Mark could hear happy voices from ones who cleared the dungeon fast, dejected voices from ones who needed to be saved, nervous voices from ones who were late and didn't know if they passed, and tired voices who were just done for the day.

Finally, once everyone had left the dungeon, the examiner came up to talk once again.

"Congratulations to those who defeated the boss. That means you passed without worry. As for those who didn't manage to kill the boss, there are other variables in play, so don't worry too much for now."

"The exact points itself we will tally after looking at the information the teachers have picked up. That combined with your performance in the battle test and written test, I hope you get a satisfactory result."

"Good Luck."

The examiner dismissed them after saying that. Everyone started to leave the dungeon ground and return back to their home.

Mark was the only one that remained and was considering whether he should return back or not.

On one hand, he could stay here and hunt the dungeon for the rest of the day, earning some more money.

Or, he could go back home and—

"Mark, what are you doing here?" a voice came from behind him.

Mark quickly turned around and saw who was speaking.

"Ah, president. Good morning," he said.

"Why are you still here? You should go back home and take care of your sister," the President said.

"I… I was just thinking of whether to stay and do some portering or go home for the day," Mark said.

"Oh, did the teachers not mention anything?" the president asked.

"Mention what, sir?" he asked.

"The dungeon is closed for the day. We didn't know how long the test would take, so we made an agreement with the dungeon association to close the dungeon for the rest of the day."

"There won't be any dungeon hunting today, so you can go back home without worry," the president said.

"Ah, if that is so, then I will leave right now president. Thank you for letting me know," Mark said.

"Alright, then I won't keep you. Take care of your sister," the president said.

Mark thanked him one last time and ran to the dungeon traders. He sold everything except the dozen or so goblin marbles he got and quickly brought them back home.

"I should get sister something good to eat today," he thought and got a cake from a relatively fancy store.

That would also serve as a celebration for him passing the test.

He walked back home and went up the stairs to his apartment. When he reached his apartment, he saw that there was someone in front of the door, knocking on it.

"Who?" Mark looked suspiciously. But then, he noticed the big bag the man was carrying and the logo on the bag. "The Delivery!" he said in surprise.

His 200 goblin marbles had arrived.
