3 monsters down, 4 people who cannot fight, 1 monster who was practically useless aside from distraction, 1 monster who couldn't fight as well because it was only equipped a few days ago, and Mark, the situation was truly dire.
Mark looked at the goblin warrior and told him to stand up quickly. The boss's back was bleeding from the wolf's bite and it was huffing a little, but aside from that, there seemed to be no problem with him.
'This is going to be an annoying battle,' Mark thought and turned back to look at the teacher who was still marking them.
'Well, at least he hasn't failed us yet,' Mark thought and moved around the sword in his hands to get a perfect fit.
Once he got the balance of the blade, he turned to Ayral and said, "Shoot an arrow at the boss's eyes when my goblin runs forward."
"What? But it will easily dod—"
"It's just for distraction. Just do it when I send my goblin warrior running," Mark said. Then he started to walk around the cave, staying away from the hob goblin's vision.
He looked at the boss's feet and saw the long sword left behind by Tim's goblin warrior. 'That should be fit for my goblin,' he thought.
The 4 party members were looking at him in shock, thinking it was suicidal to attack the boss. Even the teacher had come forward and was ready to save him if required. But Mark didn't give thought to their concerns.
Once he thought he was ready, he looked towards Ayral and nodded.
"WAAHHH," his goblin warrior shouted and rushed forward towards the boss. The boss also ran towards it, ready to swing its club.
SWISH
An arrow came flying at the boss's eyes. The boss put up its club to block the arrow and in doing to blocked its own vision.
The goblin warrior suddenly launched forward and hit the boss square in the chest with its shoulders, sending it tumbling backward.
At the same time, Mark rushed forwards from behind and cut very close to the ground, targeting the boss's tendon in the foot.
The tendon was in strain, so with enough force, Mark managed to cut it and he rolled forward while the boss fell down.
The boss cried out in pain from the cut in its leg and got back up. However, it once more fell to the ground due to not being able to stand on its left foot anymore.
While that was going on, Mark made the goblin warrior pick up the sword that was on the ground and told it to go attack.
The goblin warrior rushed forward and started swinging its sword towards the boss. The boss managed to block the sword and sent the goblin warrior backward.
It then stood on its right leg, limping on the left one.
The battle was still not over.
This time, both the goblin warrior and Mark ran forward. At the same time, another arrow went in between them towards the boss.
The boss didn't bother blocking the arrow and jumped to the side. It then slammed down at Mark with its club.
The goblin warrior came in between and blocked the club swing with its sword. Mark could hear the bones creak, but it was fine.
Instead, he proceeded to make multiple small cuts at the monster's right leg. The boss winced in pain and took back the club.
It then tried to hit Mark, but Mark jumped backward and dodged the club slam. At the same time, the goblin warrior attack the boss with the sword.
The boss tried to dodge, but it still got cut on the side of its left arm. It then swung horizontally at the goblin warrior, but the goblin warrior was nimble enough to dodge the attack.
At the same time, Mark had already rushed forward to take advantage of the opening and started cutting at the boss's legs once more.
And while the boss focused on Mark, the goblin warrior jumped back in to attack it once more.
Together, Mark and goblin warrior were playing with the fact that the boss could only target one of them at a time and were dealing a lot of damage to it.
The 4 party members in the back had their faces in awe as they looked at the most glorious fight they had seen since the Hero and his monsters had fought against the invasion in the dungeon break two years ago.
The teacher too was in shock. He couldn't believe that someone with no dungeon fighting experience was actually fighting so well against a boss by himself.
He secretly started to think that the student had fought monsters like the boss before.
However, this truly was Mark's first time fighting the boss. Not even last time when the 3 E-rankers allowed him to fight did they let him fight the boss. It was too dangerous.
And yet, Mark was easily fighting the boss right now. The entire time he attacked the boss, he had his eyes on something that could help him further increase his damage output.
Seeing Mark near itself, the boss brought the club overhead and slammed downward. However, Mark didn't jump backward, but instead just stepped to right.
The time had arrived. The moment the club landed on the ground, the goblin warrior swung its sword, targeting the boss's finger, while at the same time, Mark jumped on top of the club and got a hold of the sword that was still stuck on it.
The sword belonged to goblin warrior, which had been stuck on here since earlier when it was kicked back.
The sword masterfully chopped 3 of the boss's fingers, making him wince and pull back the club. However, Mark was already on it and had wiggled out the small sword from it.
The moment the boss took back the club, he jumped onto the boss's face and in one clean sweep, stuck both of the swords directly into each of the boss's eyes, deep enough to stab the brain.
Mark jumped back and landed a little back while the boss suddenly went limp and fell to the ground.
The boss was dead.
