Chapter 13 Birth of Emma

It had been hours and Ace was becoming restless. The sounds of Hanna screaming curses and Ace's name made him worry. I sat there with him and acted like a little sister to him, being supportive and wishing him to be the best father there was. But it all ended with a little cry as Hanna died down with her screams. The sweet sounds of life coming into this world, a world with no peace at this time of day. This sound made me smile with joy as Ace sat there crying. He was finally a dad, and he was going to enjoy this day for the rest of his life. August 26th of 2028 was the day that everything had changed for him as he was going to protect his little one.

We all walked into the room with smiles on our faces as we saw a tiny figure wrapped in a blanket in Hanna's arms. Her smile was bright as the light whimpers of the little girl in her arms. She wasn't crying as she felt the love in the room as Ace finally got to see her. Hanna had never been so happy to have a baby, but Ace seemed like he was going to cry. She was placed in his arm and wiggled a bit before finally getting comfy to sleep. Ace could only hold her with one arm, but the smile he had was a proud one over time.

"How do you guys feel about being parents," Colt chirped in the crowd.

"Nervous," Ace said, "but I can't wait to watch her grow."

"Me too," Hanna hopped in, "If you put another one in me. You better hope you live to see another day."

"You were serious about that?" Ace questioned with a smile. Hoping that it wasn't true as she nodded a yes to him. At this time, I would be watching my back from her, but at the same, it would have been worth the long while.

"What are you going to name her?" Jade asked.

"Emma," Hanna said proudly, "Emma Lize Taylor."

"Not going to use Ace's last name?" Colt questioned

"No," she replied, "if he were to be killed or makes me angry. I have a good reason to leave without a problem."

"Really?" Ace stuttered

"No…" she smiled, "but it's a good backup plan though."

I pulled myself away with a smile, but I couldn't stay here for long as I had to get back home. Squeaks probably drove Jones to the point of murder, and it seemed that everyone was going to enjoy their time with the baby. So, I patted Martin's shoulder and pointed at the door, hinting that I was going to leave. He followed right behind as a smile was on my face. I was an aunt again as I have never gotten the chance to see my nephews beforehand. The walk was short, but when I got onto my bike and seen how calm I was. Ace was a dad, and I still had a home to get back to.

The sounds of footsteps came from behind me as Jade knew I was going to leave again. She didn't seem happy, but she stopped to tell me something.

"Leaving so soon," she said with hate

"Back home yes," I answered as I made sure there was plenty of gas in the tank.

"You know if you leave," she said coldly, "You are to never return here again."

"What?" I questioned

"You heard me," she snapped

"I have many rights to be here as you," I muttered back, "plus I think it's the others' choice and not you."

"You know damn well that no one wants a monster living in their home," she laughed as it pushed something in me. I was something different, but I didn't know if I had the chance to be the same after those words. If I leave, I was a monster, and it was the same as if I were to stay. I rather felt love with Jones, but what will happen to the group if I leave? Jade would probably lead them to fall, but she didn't seem to want me there.

"Fine," I answered, "Don't come for me if something bad happens."

Those words seemed so blank and empty as I left. The cold feeling in my heart stood there as I turn on the bike and said what seems to be my goodbyes. The doors were barely opened as I pulled it fully force home. Tears ran down as I thought of how much I hated life and how I was different. The sounds of wind clouded as my vision were focused on the road home. Jones would be there waiting for me to return as he seemed to be fine with me being there.

The closer I got the more pain pulled my heart as it came to a stop. The lights to the house were still on as the smell of stew once again was in the air. Turning off the bike and heading into the house was all I could do. Tears still rained from my eyes as I saw him looking at the door with a smile on his face. It changed as he saw me broken and afraid to be the same once again.

"What happened," he asked with a worried look in his eyes.

"Jade told me to never come back," I sniffed as I fell onto my knees. The feeling of pain was there but I never thought about going back to them again. I couldn't tell Emma about the stories we faced over the year or teach her morals. There was nothing left in my heart as my arms wrapped around me. Squeaks ran up to me and curled up into my lap, saying it was okay for me to be sad. Today was both the worst and best day of my life.
