Chapter 22 End of the Blood Cult

I walked over as her men froze in spots looking at me in fear. Jones was tied to a chair and knocked clean out, but sadly Liam was shot and killed. I breathed in and out as I heard her grab a gun and pointed it at me. I looked over and saw that she now had a frown. I pulled my gun up and shot the person next to her as fear ran down her face. The sounds of gunfire were near as I saw that her important followers backed into the wall. Their lives would save many others as they killed many in the past. I watch from the sidelines and would no longer be her puppet.

"You should be tied up!" Karen screamed at me, pointing her gun.

"You have more than one enemy," I spoke, "than me."

"You come any closer," she stuttered, "I'll kill Jones!"

I looked at her and knew that she was too scared to do anything as I stepped closer to her. She soon pointed her gun at him as I laughed. She was scared and was caught in a corner. Death wasn't with her, but against her as she killed many. The members of men and women in her cult were killed while fighting for her dream. It was the end, and she knew it as I pulled out my gun and shot again. This time it hit her leg and she fell to the ground, dropping her gun. I did so again and again to members who finally snapped out of their shock. Bullets grazed my skin as I felt the pain over and over, but it didn't kill me. Fear was something growing inside of her.

"Poor Liam," I said under my breath, "But I should thank him for helping me. Without him, I wouldn't have the detonator for this place."

"What…" she said as crawled towards her gun but ended with a bullet in her hand.

"We planned to end your little cult for a long while," I spoke, "he would be happy to know that it's gone."

"You wouldn't betray me," she spoke trying to get me back on her side again. It wasn't going to work as I went to Jones, checking if he was still alive. His chest moved up and down as his eyes lay closed. I untied the ropes and place him next to the door. Her other members watched as they could do a thing. I smiled as these were the leaders of the other cults and made it easy for me to end it there.

"Loyalty is hard to get," I said, "I know that as I used to be part of a group. One I helped lead and grow, but it changed as I was a monster in their eyes. But they still treated me like family, a family I will have to let go of. They will be fine on their own as I'll be looking for a new home."

"You'll never find a home!" she screamed at me.

"Maybe or maybe not," I said, "but yours is about to burn to the ground."

I walked over to the other members and did the same as I did to her. Shooting limbs that would help them leave. I wanted them to suffer as much as these people had and made sure of it. Then I remember the little girl from the back as she was still hoping for someone to save her. I walked in to see that she was still crying, hearing all the gunfire in the other room. I walked over and shot the lock. She looked up to see who it was and calmed down a bit seeing it was me. Helping her out of the cage as we walked out of the caged. I lifted Jones with one of his arms on my shoulder and looked over to see blood on the ground. This was the end and I smile.

"I hope you like Hell!" I called back to Karen

She didn't say a thing as I thought that she bled out and died, but I was wrong. The sound of ringing came as I looked down to my side. Blood and lots of it poured as I forced us all out of the building. I barely could walk, but soon as I knew we were far away from it. I clicked the button, hearing the building explode. I was scared as I felt the pain inside of me. The thoughts of my little one made me cry as I kept seeing blood pour out of me. Jones started to come to life as he saw me crying and holding my side. The little girl tried to pull me away, knowing that zombies would come to this place soon.

"Lize!" I heard before blacking out into the darkness as this felt so familiar. The feeling of pain was still there as I felt my body being moved and then nothing.
