Pro glanced at his status screen pondering how upgrades work. He then thought of the library and began to search in there. After searching 'level upgrade', a result popped up.
[To upgrade host level, the following requirements must be met.]
[Requirements] Domain size of at least 2 small rooms, 500 life points
"2 small rooms? How large is that?" Pro then searched up 'room sizes'.
[Host current domain size: 1 small room]
[During expansion, the price of expansion will depend on the size of the room or area. The room or area will then be categorized into a certain size.]
[Small room: 35-229 square feet]
[Medium room: 230 - 399 square feet]
[Large room: 400 - 999 square feet]
[Small area: 1000 - 1999 square feet]
[Medium area: 2000 - 3999 square feet]
[Large area: 4000 square feet and above]
[Special rooms may have increased price for expansion, but will come with special perks.]
[Every rank of room or area can count as 3 times of the lower ranked area for level upgrades. Medium is equivalent to 3 smalls, large is equivalent to 3 mediums, an area is equivalent to 3 large rooms.]
[Host can only expand to rooms connected to host's current domain. The cost of the expansion will be shown once host has thoughts of expansion towards a room.]
Pro scratched his head in confusion, "So specific? But how much does it cost to upgrade?"
Pro then looked out the doorway of the bathroom towards the living room attached with a kitchen, "Expand to living room?"
[Expansion Name] Living Room attached with Kitchen
[Room Category] Medium
[Expansion Cost] 1000 Life points
Pro couldn't help but curse when he saw the price, "Damn! And I thought I finally got rich with 200 points. I can't afford to upgrade my level, nor can I afford to upgrade my domain? Then what the heck can I even do with it?!"
Pro soon calmed down as he knew there was no point in being angry. He then thought for a bit before glancing over to the left wall of the bathroom, "Wonder if that will work? Expand to bedroom?"
[Expansion Name] Bedroom
[Room Category] Small
[Specialty] None
[Expansion Cost] 200 Life points
Pro's eyes sparkled as he happily chuckled, "Nice! It seems I can actually do something with my points. In fact, this is all I can do for now, and it also fulfills one of the conditions for upgrading my level. Although I can save my points, I will need to do this upgrade sooner or later, so why not now? Expand!"
[Are you sure you want to add Small Bedroom to your domain?]
"Yes!"
[Deducting 200 points. Expanding domain, please wait ...]
Pro then felt an intangible force spread out from the left wall and filled in the area on the other side starting from the floor upwards. It felt like water filling up a room even Pro couldn't see anything. Not long after, Pro began to feel that it was possible to go through the wall and enter the other side with no consequences.
[Expansion completed. Current host domain size: 2 small rooms]
"Finally! I don't have to chill in the bathroom all day!" Pro exclaimed in happiness before cautiously stepping through the left wall and entering his familiar bedroom.
Opposite of the door, sunlight streamed through a window revealing a small bedroom with white walls, popcorn ceiling, and gray carpet. A small bedside cabinet was under the window. A lamp along with a clock and a phone sat on the the cabinet. To the left of the cabinet was a single sized bed with blue blanket and white pillow. A wooden desk, where an assortment of stationary laid in a mess, filled in the gap on the other side of the bed with a black swivel chair that had its color fading in some parts. An old laptop, with a mouse plugged in, sat closed on top of the desk, and its charger laid messily on ground besides the chair and next to the electrical outlet. On the opposite wall facing the desk, an old, wooden clothes wardrobe stood. A small, ragged rug by the bed served as decoration on the ground. As for decorations on the wall, Pro was too poor to purchase any.
"Oh bed, I miss you!" Pro cheerfully said as he hopped onto his bed and laid down.
Although he didn't fall through the bed, Pro was also not able to affect the bed physically in any way so it felt like sleeping on a carpet floor.
"Eh? Not as comfortable as I imagine, but I don't need sleep anyways. Not sure if this expansion is worth it because there is no specialty, but at least I got a new place to hide if the bathroom is compromised, but there is a bit more sunlight in this room so I might only want to stay here at night," Pro concluded as he felt a bit weaker in the bedroom compared to the bathroom, "Hmm, now that I think about it, is there anything special about the bathroom?"
Pro then hopped off the bed and cautiously stepped through the walls to re-enter the bathroom. Then, he thought internally, "Bathroom details?"
[Room Name] Bathroom
[Room size] Small
[Specialty] The yin energy gathers here, gain 10% extra resistance to sunlight within the room and 1% extra resistance to sunlight within domain
"Ohhh! There's actually a specialty here, no wonder the female ghost chose this place as her hideout ... ehh, did she even get a choice? Whatever, at least it's beneficial for me," Pro happily exclaimed.
Pro then glanced at the small bathroom with a couple of cracks on the old tile flooring, then decided he still preferred resting in his bedroom due to habits, "One week of being grounded in the bathroom is enough. I'm not H*rry P*tter, I don't want to live in a small closet-like room for years."
Pro then stepped back into his bedroom and began to explore it once more. Well, technically, only one thing interested Pro at this moment, "Fortunately, the police did not take that away for investigation."
Pro strolled towards the desk area, used a bit of energy to turn the chair gently to face the desk, and then sat in the chair. Pro then used some more energy to plug the charger into the outlet. Afterwards, Pro exhausted his energy to move a part of the charging line up to the table and plugging it into the laptop to charge it.
"Phew, never knew that wanting to use a laptop can be so energy consuming," Pro muttered as he stared at his charging laptop, "I will probably leave it plugged in from now on even if it kills the battery. The only problem is that typing would be an issue. I can probably only press 1-3 keys at most which will cost me 20 energy, and that is providing that the keys are close together. Fortunately, I can turn into physical form for that part even though I need to rest for an hour in between."
Pro then began to wait for his energy to recharge as he read novels in his system library once more. Did you think he wanted to use the computer to read novels? Hell no, he can read for free in the system library. The computer can be used for more important things.
After an hour, Pro then turned on the laptop. After it booted up, Pro used all his energy just to type his password in and pressing enter. The laptop changed to a familiar PC desktop and Pro watched all the icons load slowly, "Uggg, seriously, there better not be any more windows update, as those take ages and only serve to slow down the computer even more."
After another hour, Pro spent his energy to shift the mouse and double click on a browser that was not Internet Explorer. Anything is better than that. After the browser loaded to a search engine home page, Pro began to think up of keywords to search.
"Hmmm, to implement my plan, I would need to find a good forum of some sort."
Pro began to type in some keywords into the search engine until he ran out of energy. After waiting for his energy to recharge, Pro began typing the rest of the keywords. Fortunately, the laptop was set to no sleep when plugged in for charging or else Pro would have to expend energy to wake it up. Pro then spent hours browsing the search results for a suitable forum and finally made a mental list of the couple he wanted to us.
Afterwards, Pro spent a couple more hours to make a new account on one of the forums. Although most of the time was spent waiting for the energy to recharge, Pro was patient and he used the time in between to think of the most efficient way to use his energy. This was tedious and time consuming, but the following result is very important for Pro's coming growth so he persisted.
After finally making an account, logging in after checking stay logged in, and going to the correct forum category, Pro began to write a post.
[Title] Horror of the Toilet
"Legend has it that room 444 of the old apartment building at XXX street of XXX state of XXX country is haunted. I heard that the ghost there actually makes you constipated. What kind of joke is that?! Can someone nearby go check it out to see if it is true?"
Pro stared at the post that he took a couple of hours to write. He stretched his fingers and posted it in an local horror story section of a horror story forum. Although it was more like a comment instead of a horror story, Pro can only do so much and hope it won't get deleted.
After posting and copying the text, Pro opened a new tab to enter another forum to post the same message. Pro did this in multiple forums to attract some attention. Although this might attract the attention of some extraordinary existence, Pro believes that it will have a higher chance of attracting unsuspecting prey. After all, the recent case has been closed, and the investigators may not actually send another special investigator down just because of some leaked rumors.
After spending a couple days to finish this task, Pro happily checked back on the first forum where a multitude of people had already replied.
"The brother above, if a ghost that makes another constipated exists, I will eat sh*t."
"Please watch your language, no sh*t talks allowed here. You got to hold it in."
"Upstairs, I don't get it, why can't I let it out?"
"Lies, I have a higher chance of believing ghosts exist rather than a ghost like that. Is that even a scary ability?"
"I agree with the above, it's not a scary ability. It can actually be used as medical treatment for those that can't stop sh*tting on these forums."
Pro's mouth twitched as he read the comments from keyboard warriors. Although there were many comments, there were not many that believed in it. Fortunately, the moderators didn't delete his 'story'. Perhaps it was a novel, interesting new idea for a sh*tty horror story.
After scrolling through some more, Pro finally saw someone say, "Oh that's nearby. This brave soul will go check it out. Which ladies want to partake in this adventure with me?"
There were a couple replies nested in that comment. While some cursed the commenter out for causing false hype, others said that they will direct message the commenter regarding the trip.
Pro grinned happily as a fish has bitten the hook. The first time is more based on luck, and Pro felt really lucky right now if the comment was true. After all, once they actually come and experience the horror, they may become Pro's loyal, free advertisers.
The plan is in motion. As for what it may attract, Pro believes that even if he can't fight them, he can hide as long as it's not overwhelmingly strong one. Let the horror of the toilet be know to all!
