The Transformation

It has been seven hours since Zoe has been gone from us. Breyden assures me that she is fine, but I do unfortunately not believe a word he says. I do not hear her heartbeat, and there is no breath leaving her lungs. To me, she is as dead as you get.

So it is with a somewhat heavy heart that I am about to give up. We knew there was a risk that we were taking. We did know from the start that this might take her life. I just wish that I have told her that I loved her before she went. Guess that is the first regret I will have to live with. The second will be the guilt I will have for taking her life when I was supposed to protect her.
