Chapter 16

Registration for Piqmentia Grand Academy will end today. Because of that, the SkyDome hall was crowded with countless people, and they numbered in the thousands. They came not only from the nobility but also from the common people. The queue becomes six lines and long snaking.

In one of the queues far away from Ziel, a beautiful girl with long, straight, purple-white hair stood quietly. Behind her was a boy with slicked-back hair of the same color as her.

The two of them saw Simon Voskila trampling on other prospective students. But they suddenly heard a voice accompanied by a terrifying pressure that filled the hall. Everyone there felt the coercion but not the girl and boy. When Merlick appeared and spoke to Simon, the purple-haired boy sneered weakly.

"I think you are overestimating the human race, my lady. If you give the order, I can exterminate them all now, including the teachers and principal of this academy." The boy said to the girl in front of him using telepathy.

"Berith, you must not underestimate humans. Don't you remember that the king of our race died at the hands of humans?" The girl reminded the boy with a soft and melodious voice.

As she had mentioned, the boy with the slicked-back hair was named Berith, while the girl in front of him was Lilith, one of the five main fallen gods on the Clorius continent.

Lilith was assigned by their organization called 'God's Domain' to investigate the plans of the humans and exterminate them if she deems it dangerous for the gods to fall. But they couldn't act carelessly considering what had happened in the Argaint Kingdom.

She was chosen for this task because her organization thought she was the most suitable person. Lilith would sneak in as a human academy student and secretly investigate the Five Kingdom Project.

"It is our dark past. Besides, no one knows whether it is true that humans defeated our king. But if that were the case, that person must have gotten lucky or used some underhanded means because our race won't lose to a lowly race like them!

Most importantly, the strength of the human race is much weaker now than in the past. Every decade they will be degraded. So, what should we fear from them?" Berith could not accept what Lilith said. In his opinion, the Divine Race was the strongest race on the Clorius continent, and the others were just ants they could step on at any time.

"Your words are true. But we have to know what they are planning because that is the task given by the organization. We can easily spy on humans if we mingle with them. If we find something that can increase humanity's power and threaten our existence, we must seize it or destroy it." Lilith said coldly to Berith.

"Aren't you disgusted to mingle with them, my lady? I feel sick of just being in the same place as those ants." Berith kept complaining to Lilith.

"If you keep complaining like that, I'll have someone else replace you." Lilith sighed softly because she was tired of hearing complaints from Berith.

"Fine, I understand. But I will not hesitate to kill anyone who dares to touch or find trouble with us." Berith turned his eyes to the prospective students who always stared at Lilith with lustful eyes.

This is natural because Lilith wears a sleeveless shirt with a black skirt above the knee, showing off her smooth and beautiful legs. Because of that, she received a lot of lecherous looks from the prospective male students around her.

"Yes, but you shouldn't overdo it. You have to remember what we came here for. So don't make unnecessary fuss." Lilith warned Berith. She was also disgusted by the stares of the prospective male students around her, but she couldn't act recklessly. But it didn't matter if he allowed Berith to give them a little punishment.

"Hahaha... Alright, My lady." Berith pointed his finger at the male student candidate with the most lustful look at Lilith. He intended to shoot magic to blind his eyes. But before Berith could do that, a gaze locked on them, and they felt terrible coercion.

"Argh!" They groaned and tried to fight off the pressure.

"Kugh! I'm a fallen god! I won't lose to this kind of pressure! Don't joke with me!" Lilith screamed in her heart and tried to fight the pressure with her power. It was the same sight as Simon before but on a much stronger scale. The more Lilith struggled, the stronger the pressure she felt, and the floor beneath her feet started to crack.

Crack!

"Urgh... My lady! What kind of pressure is this? Who could do this to us!? Is that another fallen god!?" Berith's situation is much worse than Lilith's. He endured the pressure until the blood gushed from his nose and ears.

The people around them were completely unaware of what had happened to them because they tried their best to act casually so as not to look suspicious.

"Aahhh..." They no longer cared about their purpose of coming there. Right now, the most important thing for them was to survive. Lilith and Berith felt they couldn't take the coercion any longer and were prepared to unleash their full strength. But then the pressure they were feeling suddenly disappeared.

"Hah...hah...hah... What the hell!? Who would dare to do something like this to us!?" Berith was gasping for air and almost screaming out loud in anger. But his voice also contained fear because of the pressure.

"I don't know. But I feel that person is dangerous and already knows our strength." Lilith breathed heavily from the force, and her pretty face was sweaty. But it looked very sexy in the eyes of some prospective male students in the hall.

Lilith looked around the hall for the person who had unleashed that coercion upon them. But no matter how hard she searched, she couldn't find that person after using detection magic. As a fallen god, Lilith should be able to quickly find that person, even if he was dozens of miles away. But she was astonished that that person's existence seemed to have disappeared from the Neigal Kingdom's territory. Because of that, Lilith's face became gloomy.

"Are you okay, My lady?" Berith asked after seeing the look on Lilith's face.

"I'm okay. But I can't find that person anywhere in this region." Lilith said in a deep voice.

"So what should we do next, my lady? If that person finds out about us, wouldn't it be dangerous for us to stay here?" Berith felt scared after knowing that Lilith couldn't detect the person.

"No. If that person were on the side of the human race and wanted to guard this place, he would act directly on us instead of warning us using force. He will not leave behind a dangerous existence like us to move freely in the academy he wants to protect." Lilith explained her analysis to Berith.

"So what do you mean?" Berith still didn't understand the meaning of Lilith's words.

"I mean, that person isn't from the human side. He was not the protector of this academy. That pressure may warn us not to get involved with him. So we have to be more careful in the future, Berith. It seems this mission is not as easy as we think." Lilith said to Berith with a serious face.

"Alright, My lady." Berith nodded slightly and looked around. He had forgotten to punish the boy looking at Lilith with lecherous eyes.

"Haa..." Ziel opened his eyes and sighed heavily.

"What's wrong, Ken?" Clara asked Ziel.

"Nothing. I'm just tired of having to queue all this time." Ziel didn't notice that Clara had been watching him all along.

He focused on suppressing the two fallen gods and didn't pay much attention to his surroundings. Ziel didn't notice because Clara's gaze didn't contain any malice. If it had any hatred, he would know it right away.

"Is that so?" Clara doubted Ziel's answer and kept looking at his face. When their eyes met, she realized she had been staring at Ziel for too long. Clara quickly turned her blushing face away and covered her cheeks with both hands.

Beatrix could only shake her head and smile wryly when she saw Clara's behavior. After waiting two hours, only one person was left standing at the front of their queue.

Not long after that, their turn came. But then they heard a commotion from the entrance of the building when they were about to head to the registration desk. The prospective students suddenly stepped aside as if giving way to someone, more precisely because they were afraid to approach that person.

Ziel and the others were curious and looked toward the source of the commotion. They saw a beautiful girl walking gracefully toward the registration desk. The girl had long, straight black hair with bangs covering her forehead.

She is the same age as Ziel and Clara. The girl wore an all-black dress with some white ornaments. She wears a black bracelet on her wrist that matches her dress. Ziel could feel the sadness and loneliness from him. That girl was the Neigal Kingdom's first princess, Iris Neigal.
