Chapter 19

Inside one of the rooms in the red tower, the prospective students were taking their exams seriously. The place was still and quiet, without anyone speaking. Only the sound of scribbling on the test paper could be heard in that place. Time passed quickly, and the two hours allotted for prospective students to take the exams finally ran out.

"Time is up!" Christof's voice echoed throughout the room. He snapped his fingers again, and the exam papers in front of the prospective students disappeared.

"You will be given a fifteen-minute break. After that, we will do the second test. For the place, you can look in the manual book given during registration. See you in the second exam room." Christof and Kalya disappeared from the podium.

Fifteen minutes is a short amount of time. So, Ziel decided to stay in that room until break time ended. He wasn't the only one who thought that way. Most prospective students stayed in that room to wait for the next test.

When Ziel was waiting for the second test to start, he raised his eyebrows because he felt a cold gaze from the table quite far away. The room was spacious, and the number of prospective students who took the exam today was nearly 3,000. The distance between Ziel and that person was quite far and was blocked by other prospective students.

Ziel knew who it was that kept staring at him. That person is Lilith. Berith wasn't with her because he got a different test site. Lilith wore a purple dress that was slightly closed, and her hair was tied in a ponytail. She wore glasses and kept her presence inconspicuous. Lilith doesn't use magic to change her appearance because the tower has a system that can detect disguises. He didn't disguise himself but used his past face for his present self.

Ziel ignored her and pretended not to notice. Lilith only looked at him briefly and shifted her eyes elsewhere. She seemed to be checking something in the room. Fifteen minutes quickly passed, and the prospective students' manual vibrated and made a 'Beep' sound. They opened it and saw the room that would be used for the second test.

They immediately rushed to that place. Ziel walked slowly and followed them from behind. When the prospective students arrived at the room, they saw two large devices standing on top of the podium. It was about 3 meters high, and a pillar was beside it. Each device has a small screen hovering over it.

They turned their eyes next to the two devices and found Christof and Kalya already waiting for them at that place.

"Welcome prospective students. We will start the second exam now. But before that, I will give you five minutes to wait for other prospective students." The one who greeted them was Christof, and Kalya just kept silent. Five minutes passed very quickly. Then the door of the place closed by itself. Upon seeing that, some prospective students were shocked, and the rest heaved a sigh of relief at having arrived on time.

"Alright, let's start the second test now. As you can see, there are two big devices in front of you. They are artifacts to measure your strength. The one on the right can measure the power of a magic circle for a mage. The one on the left is for measuring the aura seal for a knight." Christof walks and explains the function of each device. He was silent for a moment and then continued his words.

"You just need to touch the crystal in the center of the measuring device and unleash your power. It will judge your strength by numbers." Christof points to the crystal in the center of the measuring devices.

As he was explaining, a prospective student suddenly raised her hand. She is a beautiful girl with blood-red hair tied in a ponytail. That girl is Reina Rubelia, the Princess of the Rubella Kingdom. She wasn't wearing her knight armor and looked sexy in casual clothes because her curves were so exposed.

"What's wrong, Princess Reina?" Christof asked. He knew Princess Reina because she was quite famous in the Rubelia kingdom. But Christof would treat her the same as any other prospective student because there was no difference once they entered the academy.

"Could the device measure our strength in detail? Isn't it enough for us to show a magic circle or aura seal if you want to know our power?" Princess Reina's voice said in a deep and dignified voice. He questioned the function of the measuring device in front of him.

"We will show you firsthand how this measuring device works to answer your questions. Please, Miss Kalya... " Christof looked at Kalya and asked her to show how the measuring device worked. Kalya nodded slightly at Christof's words and walked over to the measuring device for mages.

Kalya placed her palm on the crystal and unleashed her power. The prospective students felt pressure from Kayla. Seven magic circles emerged from her body, and the mana-measuring device pole spawned the same number of her magic circles. Then the numbers appear on the small screen of the device.

After the number appeared, Kalya pulled her palm and returned to her place. The students were confused when they saw that. They couldn't tell if the number was big or small because it was the first time they had seen such a power-measuring device. Then they turned their attention to Christof for an explanation. He knows what prospective students are thinking. He smiled and opened his mouth.

"You must already know that a person's strength is judged by how many magic circles for a mage and aura seals for a knight. In this device, each magic circle will be rated at 10,000. When your strength goes up by one level, it will be 20,000. The higher your power, the more difficult it will be to raise it to the next level." Christof paused and glanced at the prospective students. Afterward, he continued his explanation.

"The higher one's level, the denser the mana or aura needed to create a magic circle or aura seal. The energy needed for one to level up was 10,000. It was the same at each level, but the mana and aura density would be different when you needed a value of 10,000 to rise from senior mage to magic master and a value of 10,000 to break through from magic master to magic king.

So the value displayed on the measuring device shows that Miss Kalya is a magic king close to Sage level." Christof stopped his explanation. Then the prospective students notice that a number appears in their manual book. It was in their order to step up and measure their strength.

"At least you have to have a value of 30,000 or the equivalent of an intermediate mage or knight to pass this exam. Do you understand?" Christof looked at the prospective students, but they said nothing.

"Then you will proceed according to the number in your manual book. With this, the second test begins! For number one, please come forward. If you are a mage, choose the right measuring device. If you are a knight, then choose the left." After giving his explanation, Christof and Kalya sat in their chairs.

Ziel didn't know how many entrance exam participants were in that room. When he looked at the manual book in his hand, the number shown there was...

"Number 788..." Ziel sighed softly. He didn't know how long he had to wait for his turn.

The second test had started, and a boy with short red hair walked to the podium. He headed for the mage measuring device. A number appeared on the measuring device's screen when he touched the crystal ball.

[40,100]

"Passed... Next..." Christof called the other participants while writing it down on the magic tool in his hand.

The number of prospective students who have taken strength measurements on the device is around 500. The next test taker was a beautiful girl with blood-red hair. That person was Reina Rubelia. She walked towards the podium heroically.

Her curves were like a mature woman's and were exposed because of her tight clothes. The sight made the men look at her lustfully, and their imaginations ran wild. But none dared to approach her because Reina Rubelia was a Princess. She walked over to the measuring device for the knights. When she placed her hand on the crystal ball, the numbers shocked all the prospective students.

[49,998]

"Wonderful, as expected of a blood knight princess!" Christof smiled broadly and nodded after seeing the results of Princess Reina.

"Next..." Christof resumed the exam.

Subsequent participants who tested their strength only got an average score of 30,000 - 45,000. Ziel walked over to the measuring device and set the value of his strength to 40,050. On the other hand, Lilith also took measurements not long after and scored 44,500. He also suppressed the results of his strength measurement, just like Ziel. After seeing the value of Ziel's power, Lilith loses interest in him.

Time passed, and prospective students took turns measuring their power one by one. Not long after, the last participant walked to the podium and took his strength measurement. After that, the second test ended.

"With this, the second exam is over. Just like before, you will be given fifteen minutes to rest. The place for the third exam will be listed in your manual book. Then you can disperse now." Christof and Kalya remain in the room. They would take care of the force measurement device before they left.

Ziel quickly left the other participants and headed to the room where the first test was conducted. When he left the room, someone kept staring at him. It wasn't a look of hostility or malice but curiosity. That person wasn't Lilith, but one of the test supervisors in the room, Kalya Venetia.
