...ON MY WAY

Tobias got up. Got his bed laid. Got himself washed up and ready for the day while his roommates were just lying down, all tired and drowsy.
"No class on Monday mornings is the frickin best ….Change my mind" Taz said, playing video games on his phone.
"No lie detected compadre." Frank replied. He was charging his laptop and his phone on his bed, then he got up and went to the washroom.
"Alright, gotta go somewhere" Tobias said in a hurry.
"Where?" Bello jumped in to ask.
"Uhm…church?" Tobias replied with a little grin on his face.
The guys all just stared at him as he said that.
Frank just came out of the washroom and said, "Just met this guy like 6 weeks ago, and now he's becoming a pastor…time sure flies."
"What, no guys, I'm…."
"Can I get an Amen to that!?" Bello screamed, and the guys laughed and replied with a loud AMEN.
"No, no guys, it's not like that…."
"Every water he touches… becomes holy." Frank teased.
"He's gonna turn our sorrows into joy!" Frank followed.
"And in John Chapter 16, it SAYSS!" Bello mimicked Tobias doing that whiles the boys supported him with screams and laughs.
"His whole album is gonna be filled with Hymns." "NO CAP!" The boys still teased.
"Ey or maybe he gonna be preaching the niggalations to us," Taz mentioned.
"Ooooooh" The guys were screaming.
"Then he gon be like… so it says AND UNTO THA STREETS…SHE BELONGS!!" Bello and the guys just kept on teasing.
"Guys, NO! I'm just going to see a priest."
Then the guys kept silent and still stared at him.
"Oh, I get it" Bello said.
"Yeah…you see…I was just going…."
"For them exorcism classes, right?" Frank cut him in.
"What? … How can…"
"If that girl checks his D.M's, then he's gonna be like … THE POWER OF CHRIST!!! COMPELS YOU!!" Bello again stated, and the guys laughed over it. "I REBUKE YOU!!"
"Guys, I'm just gonna see him for something… that's all."
"Okay, wait for squad hold up, hold up let me ask him something real quick…." Bello said, and the guys were silent. "Who are you going with?"
"Uhm… I'm…" The guys leaned in to hear what he was going to say.
"I'm going with someone."
"Who my guy who?" Taz asked.
"My cousin". Then the guys were just looking a bit intrigued.
"Whoa whoa hold up bro so you mean to tell me…that girl…is your cousin?"
"Yeah…Wu"
The guys were just amazed. "Bruh who dat tho?" Frank asked. "Bruh that Chinese girl my guy here always be walking around with," Bello responded.
"Oh shoot…I thought that was his chick you know." Frank said.
"What Nah bro and…" Tobias said and then he checked his time on his phone. He also saw the message Wu just sent to him. It read. 'I'm outside. You ready?' He sighed. "Guys gotta go…"
"Yo remember … today's first day of training … you gotta check-in before 2 pm…you already know how tha coach is on the first day…he finna beat your ass if you don't get in quick." Bello reminded.
"Bro I promise you it will be quick."
"Aight bro peace."
He stepped out of the room and shut his door. He replied to her message: Yh. OMW. He placed his phone in his pocket and was heading to where she was.

He knocked on the steel front door… it was the church's entry security door.
"I think we might be too late," Wu said. He knocked on it again.
"The guy…he just said I should be here early…he never mentioned in the morning or the evening so I dunno." Then he sighed.
"What if he arrives at night time?" Wu looked at him. And he looked back. And he sighed again. "I wouldn't have time for it." "Yeah me too."
He banged on it this time and he tried opening the door. "Its either now or ne…"
And the door opened. They both looked at each other when that happened. Then Tobias sighed and sunk his head. "It was opened all this time…of course."
"Proceed." Wu gestured with her hands.
When they both entered the building, they noticed something different about the place. The curtains had changed colors…from red to purple… and the place was also looking immaculate and tidy. They saw a man in cleaning attire sweeping up the place so I guess that's why it looks so tidy. But they didn't have time for sightseeing. They both walked in quickly.
"Think I should ask him?" Tobias whispered. Wu shrugged.
"Uhm…good morning…sir". He got his attention. "Is the…priest around?"
"Oh, I'm not so sure…maybe you should ask the lady at the front, shes been around here for a while."
"Sure thanks".
She was rearranging the books at the wooden shelves neatly, then she got a wet napkin to clean the surfaces of the shelves. After that she just sat on the chairs and took a deep breath. Admiring the place. She was quite tan skinned…slightly dark a bit. She had an African cornrow updo hairstyle…with a long black sleeve turtle-neck…with an African-print Jacket on top of it. And she had dark blue jeans to add to it…with black ballet flat shoes. She was dressed really neat if I should say so. And African blood too.
So, Tobias took a deep breath and then he rushed in to ask. Wu also followed. Tobias spoke first.
"Hey uhm…morning"
"Hello yes awesome morning."
Tobias was just stunned for a bit about what she said.
"Awesome morning?" Wu said. "What's so awesome about…"
"Wu lemme just talk here." Tobias cut in. "So…uhm… we were wondering if the priest was around."
"Oh, Father Benedict? He wouldn't be around here for today. He had to pay a visit to one of his friends I don't know if he would be back by then."
"Oh right…uh…thank you." Tobias was just about to leave but she intervened.
"Is it very urgent?"
"Oh…no…its fine…it's not really any…"
"We wanted to meet with the priest so we could be born-again." Wu interrupted.
"Uhh…yeah…yeah so…"
"He wanted to see him yesterday but someone told him he was busy at that time. The person suggested for him to arrive here early…and now here we are."
"Oooooohh…okay…"
The lady was really amazed upon hearing that and immediately took a position showing concern.
"Oh, then please you come with me then and let's talk about… I wouldn't want any distractions around that's why I would like us to move to a quiet room."
"Okay sure…uhm…she's with me too."
"Awesome. Right. Let's go."
The lady took the two to a new room and shut the door behind them.
