Chapter 1

Two warriors in shattered armour stood battered and gasping in the midst of a ruined field, surrounded by black and purple flames. “This is where we end it, brother!” exclaimed one of the men, a redhead with shoulder-length red hair and horns on his forehead, as he raised his sword, surrounded by purple flames.

The man next to the redhead had short black hair, a sad expression on his face, and blazing red eyes. They both realized, without saying anything, that the only way to end this conflict was for one of them to die.

As a massive portal opened and a colossal cyclops strode out into the city, the atmosphere in Barewolf shifted, causing panic among the residents. Except for one, the citizens of Barewolf were swarming the streets, desperately attempting to flee or contact the police.

A young boy sat on a building's roof, casually playing on his portable console. He was dressed in a white dress shirt tucked into navy pants and black combat boots, with a blue skull jaw bandana and black headphones on, listening to rock music.

The mystery boy looked down and pulled his bandana up to cover his nose down, a cloud of black smoke engulfed his figure, which then faded; he now wore all black, including a T-shirt, hoodie, cargo pants, and his combat boots, with a katana and wakizashi strapped to his back and a seven-eleven pistol strapped to his right thigh.

His figure fell forward diving into smoke only to reappear in front of the cyclops. He looked up at the monsters with a bored expression, “Sup big guy I'll need you to stop or I'll have to cut you down to size.” he started blandly taking out his gun and fidgeting with it.

The cyclops didn’t seem very pleased that their fun was being stopped and they showed this by screaming at the black haired boy, one even took a swing at him. The boy shook his head in annoyance as he jumped up to avoid the demon's fist only to flip in the air, he steadied his breathing and opened his eyes to look at them, everything felt like slow motion when he fired the gun with the bullet going through the cyclops shoulder.

A small grin appeared behind the lad's mask as he landed on the side of the building and took aim once more. He was able to fire two more shots into the chest of a cyclops, enraging it and causing a jab at the airborne boy.

When he saw the cyclops fist, he quickly holstered his gun and grabbed his katana, shifting his body weight to land on its forearm, running up to its face, unsheathing his katana, letting out a frustrated yell, and cutting its head clean off before jumping off to land safely beside its decapitated body, the cyclops head bounced to its landing point with loud splattering sounds.

“I did give y'all a warning, man!” the boy huffed as he turned to face the rest of the cyclops, his gaze drawn to the blood on the ground. “I swear, demons are getting harder and harder to kill these days.” He turned around with a heavy sigh, surprised to see a group of Barewolf officers pointing their guns at him. “Oh my, let's see, I have what, ten, no eleven guns pointed at me,” he chuckled to himself as he counted the stiff and alert cops.

"Put your hands up, boy, and come with us quietly," one officer yelled as the boy turned to leave, "Yeah, I'd love to do that, but I'm running late, so I'll just go." He was engulfed in the same black cloud as before, and he vanished, leaving the cops speechless.

"Everyone quiet down, I have an announcement!" exclaimed the instructor. As the once-loud classroom fell silent, everyone was waiting to hear if there was any interesting news. "Today we have a new student, so please greet him warmly!" Her tone had changed to one of joy when she told the new student he was welcome to come in..

Everyone turned to face the new student as he walked to the teacher, greeting his new classmates with a small yawn and a slow wave. “Sup everyone, my name is Clay Blakely, and it's nice to meet ya,” the black-haired teen said casually.

Students began whispering to one another until the teacher interrupted again, saying, "Okay! Could you please raise your hand, Caroline? Please take a seat next to Caroline, Clay. ” Clay made his way down the aisle to his seat in the back of the class.

As the lesson began, he sat down and adjusted his seat. He looked over to the girl named Caroline, who had long brown hair and glasses, a golden blouse with a blue skirt. He remembered to pay attention and do the same after observing she was taking notes.

Clay was finally able to have lunch after what seemed like an eternity. As he walked through the double doors that led him outside, the sun shone brightly against his skin and a gentle breeze ruffled his hair. Shielding his eyes, he made his way down to a large tree and sat in the shade, leaning against the wood to pull out his console.

In the middle of his game, the boy got a gut feeling something was headed towards him and fast, he quickly raised his leg to stop whatever was about to hit him. The mystery object hit his leg a few seconds after and hit the ground with a soft thud. Pausing his game Clay looked down, what did he see but a peach? “What in the world...?” asks the narrator. “Why would someone attack me with a piece of fruit, of all things?” he wondered.

As if on cue, he heard footsteps approaching him, and he looked up to see the girl he sat next to in class with a redheaded girl, “Oh, I see. Is this how you send a peach emoji?” Caroline's eyes widened and a blush brushed her face as Clay teased her. “W-WHAT!? DON'T BE A PERVERT!” Caroline became enraged and yelled at Clay.

He just chuckled at her, a grin plastered on his face as he looked over the peach before tossing it up and down in his palm, “I'll think of you and enjoy it tonight,” he said, instantly enraging the brunette, “DUMBASS! Just keep in mind that my butt isn't that big.” Caroline screamed, then murmured the final sentence, hoping Clay wouldn't hear her and taunt her any further than he already had.

Clay finally looked at the two girls in front of him, chuckling again, "Okay, okay, just teasing you. What do two lovely ladies need from me?” Caroline cleared her throat and proceeded to introduce her friend to the boy who was now eating the peach, "Well, I'm not sure if you remember me, but my name is Caroline, and this is my friend Amalea," she said as the two girls sat next to Clay. “As for why we're here, we wanted to get to know you.”

“Should I agree or deny?” Clay wondered as he sighed and looked up to the sky. Although he had reasons for both possibilities, he quickly picked the latter, despite it being troublesome. Clay decided to go along with it because he was too lazy to think of an excuse to refuse. "Ask away," the girls exclaimed as they prepared for their Q&A session.
