Uninvited Guest

Part 01

Wendy's POV*

"Alright professor, I'll be there as soon as possible. Sure, it's not a big deal. No problem, glad to help."

Beep!

The sound of the phone hanging up was heard as soon as the account pressed the red button on my mobile phone, it was the professor who called me earlier. Looks like, I had to pull another all-nighter today. My phone rings once more, I saw the name written on it before answering it, ah Keiysy.

I called, "Hello? Do you need anything?"

All I could hear is a very happy voice on the other side, as she answered excitedly. "Hey, uhh. Could you drive us to the waterpark near Alin's house on Saturday, Meri said you know the way."

"Hold On, today's Thursday, right?"

She agreed, "Uh-huh."

"I don't think I can take you there, I have to finish my report today for tomorrow's trial. And the professor told me to check out a nursing home south of town, for a campus charity event."

A disappointed sigh came out from the speaker, "So, you're busy...Sorry, if I bother you."

"No, it's okay. I'll drive you guys next time. In the meantime, why don't you go with Alin and the boys, and go have some fun."

She complained, "Alin sucks."

"Huh, Alin? Really?"

A boy's shout was heard in the background, "Hey, it was not...Uh, when did I...?"

Before the boy could finish his sentence, my sister simply cut him off. "YOU DID SO, it's my final decision, if Wendy can't send us off, then we won't go there. I could just go eat some gelatos with Meri."

Hearing their childish riot, I couldn't help but laugh, "Kids, don't fight, okay? You guys are too old to sulk. "

Keiysy Lesham Maheswari, make up with Alin, okay? You could use some boys for extra protection, in case something unexpected happens."

There was nothing, no voice, no response, just pure silence with some network sound like a broken radio.

I repeated, "Do you hear me? Hello? Keiysy?"

Keiysy replied with a heavy heart, "Alright alright, forgive me young master Alin."

"Well, there you go. Now be a good girl, and I'll tell Abi to come too."

With a high pitch and quite deafening to the eardrums, he responded. "WHAT? NOT HIM, I've got enough boys coming over to my girl's summer pool party, and now you want Abi to tag along?"

I screamed back at her, which turned the attention of passersby towards me, "OY, DO YOU WANT ME TO BE DEAF? Besides, he could use some vacation from his games."

Her sulked voice rang through my phone, although in the end she couldn't help but accept it, "Oh, man. Okay, he could come."

"Great, I have to go now, bye. Tell mom and dad I won't be home tonight."

Keiysy rejoined, "If you won't coming home, then where will you stay?"

"At a friend's house, it's not too far from my campus."

As soon as I finished speaking, the connection was lost, the operator even said that it was hung up. That bit-...tiny little hamster, we'll see about that, humph.

The cellphone that was in my hand is now safely lying somewhere in my tote bag, and walking towards Lily, she's the one who lent me the room until tomorrow. Ah, she was on the phone apparently, it seemed quite important, so I went to the vending machine area not far from the campus park. I dug into my trouser pocket, and luckily I had some spare change left, enough to buy two lemon sodas for Lily and me.

When I returned to where Lily was before, I found the place empty, where did she go? Suddenly a notification comes in

it was her, she told me to go to her house first because she had to deliver her mother's food. Her apology, address, and the password for her door were listed in her chat because I'm afraid to get lost on the way looking for it, I rushed to the place she was referring to, Lily's residence.

Vroom, vroom, vroom.

I've tried several times to start my car, but it doesn't turn on, the engine doesn't sound good either. Hell, I missed my scheduled car service this month, not long after that, the hood was starting to smoke. That's when a figure was seen approaching my car, he knocked on the window next to me, so I went out of the car responding. However, it turns out that he's none other than Alin Bakti Adhiwangsa.

I greeted, waving my hands in front of my face because of this unpleasant smoke, "OH, Alin? What are you doing here?"

He just smiled before replying, "I have a need on this campus, then I saw a familiar car, I just know it was yours."

"Impressive."

The boy then walked to the hood of my car, "May I?"

"My pleasure."

A couple of hours passed by, it seems that he's quite an expert in this thing.

When all is done, he walked with his hands covered in oil. "It's all fixed, there was an oil leak in your car so the oil hit the hot engine and caused smoke to come out of it."

I replied in amusement, "Ooohh, you're quite good at this, don't you?"

Alin answered, in a tired raspy voice. "Father's old car used to be like this too, so I'm used to fixing it."

We were chatting about the waterpark plans, when Lily's message was sent to my phone, asking if I could find her house. "Oh, shoot. I forgot. It's getting late, gotta go now, Alin. See ya, thank you for the hood."

As I started my engine, Alin asked, "Where are you rushing anyway?"

"To my friend's house, it's near here, but I'm afraid that I'll get lost, and that's why I tried to be there as quickly as I can, but you know what happened next."

As my sister's friend takes a peek at the address, he couldn't believe his own eyes. Alin gasped, "Your friend's name is Lily Mckenzie, right?"

"Yeah, how did you know?"

He chuckled while covering his mouth, still not believing, "She's my distant cousin, I can take you there if you want me to."

"Thank Goodness, I would probably end up in the middle of nowhere by now. But I'll order a taxi for you to come home later."

He thanked me, then sat at the front seat next to me, guiding me along until we have arrived. Opening the door password, it was a two-story house with a small garden in front of it and a mermaid fountain in the middle of the pond. The house looks like a dollhouse, it was vintage, but modern at the same time, with some floral hanging here and there.

Most of the walls are covered in white-creme paint and circular carvings at each end. Some antique chandeliers also hang in large rooms, such as the living room, family room, and the hall of the house. The hall was not too big, just the perfect size for a simple party for family and friends, Lily is a child who is not too centric, her dress style is also like a beautiful doll, elegant and cute.

However, after Alin came home, somehow the aura in this house felt scary like someone was watching my every move from the darkness of the night. The house was now too big and quiet for me to be alone here, and cold winds began to stab me from all directions as if to say that I wasn't allowed to stay. I felt not only a pair of piercing gazes staring at me but from various antique dolls, mostly porcelain from inside the old wooden glass cabinet.

Because, already uncomfortable with this situation I finally decided to call Lily, but in the first few calls I couldn't connect to her. After saying that I had permission with him to stay here, the room temperature started to warm up, and I was finally able to connect to the call earlier.

"Hello? Lily, Lily Mckenzie, are you there?"
