The Pendant

I grabbed my bag that was lying on the floor, which was still wet, from my mop earlier, and left. What's the matter with him, it just annoys me, he really likes to spoil people's moods, huh. His nature is also erratic, sometimes he is kind, sometimes cold, and can be poetic sometimes, but his anger is uncontrollable.

After all, if he didn't talk much, he wouldn't be in trouble. I didn't ask you to help me either, you weird kid. Ah, I'm very upset, so I want to eat ice cream, people said eating chocolate is good for bringing back the mood, I'll try to buy some later. I have to buy some snacks for Abi because I've eaten all of his a few days ago.

A voice called, "Keiysy, hold up."

I stopped, unconsciously rolling my hands into a tight fist, "I don't want to talk to you."

Alin tapped my nose gently. "Are you sure?"

"I thought you were him."

He asked, "Hey, you okay?"

I sighed, "Don't make me answer if you already knew the answer, Alin."

The bespectacled man giggled, "I'll drive you home, if I may of course."

"Yes, you may," I stopped for a second, whispering to his ears.

He looked a bit shocked but smiled after. "Is that it? No problem, fasten your seat belt, it's going to get bumpy."

"Were you waiting for someone?"

Alin replied, "Yeah, you."

"Why?"

He tilted his head for a while, "Do I need an alibi for that?"

"Well, technically not but I demand one."

The boy let out a chuckle, "In that case, my alibi is I miss you."

"Flirty aren't you."

He added. "I don't know, I just have the urge to see you, to be with you."

"But, we're not a thing no more, do you still..."

Alin answered firmly, "Yes, I still love you. But, I will respect your choice, and I will leave it out for you, whether you want to come back or not."

"Thanks, I guess."

He joked, "Your welcome, I guess."

"Haha, very funny."

He nodded, "Okay, we have arrived."

His favorite red car is parked in front of the mini-market near my house, the one I visited the night when I met those bad guys at the playground. I asked him to stop there, to buy some snacks, I need my energy back. As I was about to pay, he stopped me and hands the cashier his card.

I turned my heels to him, "You don't have to do that."

With a pleaded face, Alin replied. "But, I want to."

He added, "Ah, do you want to eat the ice creams first, I'm not sure they'll be in the same shape when you got home, and trust me when things will get messy in anyways."

I blurted, "You're right, Wendy will be mad if I ruined her floors."

Time passed, the sun went home and the moon came up to replace her. And so am I, both the vanilla and the chocolate ice creams I brought earlier are already in my belly. It's time to go home, Keiysy.

"Thank you for today, I really appreciate it."

Alin chimed, his fingers caressing my hair, softly messing it up. "My pleasure, call me if you need another ride."

But, why did he come to Mark's house? Ah, I forgot to ask him that, well I could ask him tomorrow.

The shadow of someone eavesdropping can be seen from the reflection of the dimming light, father hasn't changed the front gate light yet, apparently. Slowly my feet approached him, our distance was getting eroded.

"RAWR."

A loud shriek was heard, clearly making my ears rang, " AHH FOR GOD SAKES, ah-oh you have arrived. Oh my look at the time, you're late."

"It's just 6 pm, Wendy, it's not that late."

She ordered, "Come in then, do you want to stand there all night?"

"What were you doing over there anyway?"

Wendy froze, she was too stammered to speak, "I was, you know...Cleaning up the garden, and Ummm...Watering the water, yeah."

"You were watering the water, oh is that a new trend, how do you do that?"

Her face contorted, well someone was irritated, "Alright, I'm eavesdropping, you're satisfied."

"Why are you eavesdropping on us, there's nothing special about it. And don't try to make weird rumors again, last time it was an engagement between me and him, am I wrong?"

She shrugged in return, "People won't find it weird either if you two are set up."

"Thankfully, we're not, okay. You should wash your head more often, so you won't have weird things floating around your small brain."

She shouted, pulling my clothes as she chased me away. "HEY, COME BACK HERE."

Mother greeted. "Come sit. I have something to talk about."

Hearing her orders, I immediately pulled one of the benches and sat listening while drying my damp hair. Father, along with my two brothers also sat quietly, did they already know, huh, I thought Katherine said earlier that she would not tell our parents if we clean the classroom. Maybe I should reduce myself from trusting others too easily.

A deep, loud voice began to sound, it was Dad's voice, "Before you got home, Abi staggered in, and suddenly fell unconscious, after waking up his gaze was blank, and he repeatedly said your name. Did something happen at school that today?"

I was silent for a moment, my gaze turned to him, my twin brother, who is now staring at me with teary eyes. I replied, "I...Don't...Know...All I see is everyone in my class is like a living statue, but I thought you'll be okay, I'm confused as well."

Dad lets out a deep sigh as he holds Mom who's been shaking and crying, "I see, how about you, Abi? Can you remember anything?"

The boy nodded, "I think so, it was just so bright, and I see everyone there, we were walking together, but then I saw you in a red robe walking in the opposite direction, I tried to stop you, but you won't budge. The others seemed to not care a single bit, then you turned to me telling me to come with you, and wear the robe, so I followed you. But then the bright light was replaced by a man who came closer, he asked where you were, that's when I realized that you weren't with me. Suddenly I fell and woke up in bed, I thought it was just a dream, but before the man came you gave me a pendant, and strangely enough, I held on to the pendant until I woke up."

He hands me a silver pendant, which seems familiar to me, like I've seen it before, somewhere. The pendant contains only two small diamonds fused together, I brought the thing back to my room, fortunately, Mom and Dad didn't know about the problem that happened today, I had time to accuse Katherine earlier, I'm sorry ma'am, but you really deserve to be suspected.

I try to close my eyes because tomorrow might be a tough day, I have to save a lot of energy in case something comes up.

As my vision began to blur, the image of what Abi told me began to creep into my mind, leading me there. It was as if I was really with him at that moment and felt it too. Everyone looked so calm in a strange way, they were like controlled robots. Dressed in all white, and often people with wings flying by, what is this place really?
