YANA: Not really the beginning but in a sense, yes

I don’t often tell Rin about this but she was hard to get along with at the beginning. I remember she always had that exasperated sigh whenever we worked together and she always looked grumpy as if she gets annoyed by the littlest things. Being the new girl that I was then, I couldn’t help but to assume it was because of me.

“Hey, I heard there's another girl who looks like a foreigner in Class 3. Do you know her?” I asked, to which she only answered with a plain “No.”

“Is it okay if we stack the envelopes like this? Won’t the contents get pressed this way?” I asked again, but Rin didn’t even bother to stop, as if she didn’t hear a thing.

“It’s okay,” she finally said, not even looking my way. As if doing so would turn her into a stone.

We had been like this for the past half an hour and her lack of interest was getting on my nerves. What happened to the “It’s a beautiful name I forgot the rest” and the “Let’s get along” part from the introduction?
