Kyle’s POV
A glass of scotch in my hand in another, I was viciously scratching my head. The trial was over for today and it seemed like my plan was beginning to fall apart. Now that I sat up on the witness stand, it did not feel like such a good idea at all.
I have always liked the quietness of my home, but today the quietness killed me with every breath I took. The ring on my door scared me.
Dammit, it must be Sharon, for the first time I missed seeing that wicked woman. I unlocked the door; it was not Sharon but Cindy. I quickly disguised the shock on my face with a smile, trying hard to throw her off course.
"Oh lucky me, is it my birthday. Surely it must be, because if it wasn't then I wouldn't know what was" I joked but Cindy was not having it.
"Good evening Kyle. Are you going to allow me in or am I just going to stand at your door step the whole day?" Cindy asked me, with her boss like attitude.
