Chaos
The beast tide was one of the worst fear of mankind. Humans tried to kill those monsters with nuclear weapons but that could hardly kill a beast of a level 20.
Moreover, after firing the nuclear weapons, there could be severe consequences like the opening of a random space portal followed by invasion, radiation and mutation problems, large range sacrifice of humans and many others. So nuclear weapons were not used if not required.
Military used bow and arrows, magic rifles, guns, magic cannons and bombs to kill the monsters from a long distance. Moreover, due to the prevalence of martial arts, humans were back onto practising swords, spears, blades, axe and other medieval weapons. Thus these kinds of weapons were commonly used.
But these weapons still couldn't stop the overwhelming beast tide!
The beasts outnumbered the humans in large numbers. Thus whenever a beast tide occurred, it was a red alarm to all citizens living in the city. There would be hundreds and thousands of deaths whenever it occurred.
It was impossible even for the military to evacuate all the residents of the outer city in a short amount of time.
Thus, the government made a law to evacuate anyone below 30 to the inner-city, while the middle-aged or elderly or the disabled were abandoned.
It was cruel but necessary to ensure human survival as the young one after awakening could be used for manpower while those below 40, specifically, women could re-enhance the human population.
In some parts of the world, those women who were victims of beats tide and were not awakened were used as breeding tools by illegal organizations. Even the government indirectly supported it by looking at it with a blind eye.
Slavery of non-awakened women was common in some parts of the world.
The part of the world Sam lived in was fairly controlled by the government and was under the moderately strict military survey. Thus, those who would survive the beast tide wouldn't need to go through any hell. But still, the eyes of illegal organizations were everywhere. Some rats always sneaked in for some spare food!

"Level A red alert! Incoming beast tide within three hours."
"I repeat! Incoming beast tide with level 4 within three hours!" informed the person in charge of surveying the jungle.
*Beep*beep*
The whole city was jolted awake. ln an instant, chaos shrouded the entire outer city. People started panicking as they started running helter-shelter leaving behind their newborns or pregnant wife or their elders.
Some middle-aged people even went crazy as they started killing their children and family members in jealousy and madness as they wouldn't be chosen to survive.
The cruelty of humans was portrayed here vividly. They were like savage beasts trampling each other while they advanced... just to survive.
"Help..help us please.." cried a pregnant woman miserably clutching her belly, as she was pushed onto the ground by her husband as he ran away madly towards the inner city gate.
No one cared or noticed.. or might have noticed but never cared. Carrying a burden with them would decrease their chances of survival... No one wanted to show any amount of sympathy or pity towards anyone.
People were desperate to survive even if the price was to embrace the devil!

As sirens sounded in the city, the military immediately took action. They immediately surrounded the entire city and covered the inner city gates armed with weapons.
"EVERYBODY STAY WHERE EVER YOU ARE! ONLY THOSE BELOW 30 WILL BE EVACUATED. WOMEN, CHILDREN COME FIRST!!!" shouted the military personnel who stood above the majestic inner city gate!
Hearing that, the mad crowd raged and attacked the military with stones, shoes, knives, punches, kicks, and spits.
The military personnel fumed and shouted angrily," IF YOU DON'T STOP THIS MADNESS, THEN WE WILL OPEN FIRE NOW!"
"Ptui!! Ptui! Bitches so you wanna kill all of us? Brothers, sisters kill them! Kill these bastards argh—"
Swish~swish~swish~
The courageous man who shouted was cleanly shot in the middle of the forehead by a soldier.
" DON'T CROSS THE BRIGADE. KILL ALL THOSE WHO CROSSES! WOMEN, CHILDREN COME IN FRONT!" shouted the military personnel again.
But all these resulted negatively as the situation became more messed up. These crowd went bloodshot and they madly trampled and killed any women or children they saw beside them for venting on them...
"Hahaaa... I'm not gonna survive anyway.. let's kill these whore and mutts to my heart's content!" laughed a deranged man as he stabbed his knife on a child's abdomen again and again.
A similar situation happened all over the cities.
'If I can't live then I won't let you live' this was everyone's thought at that moment.
As madness enveloped the outer city, soldiers rushed him and openly killed all those who were above 30. The victims were paranoid and they cried in despair. But the military had no time for that. They dragged all those who were unharmed and those whose injuries could be healed in the inner city.
"No. please I don't want to go! My husband is still there. Let me go, please!" begged a young woman pitifully. But the soldier just dragged her and threw her in the masses of the safe zone. The woman cursed and kicked him but the soldier behaved like a cold-blooded person as he separated her from her family.
On the other side, the military started calling for reinforcement from the inner and central cities. They closed the outer gate immediately and charged their weapons to take action when needed.
Meanwhile, the fat teacher and his goons already fled inside the closed metallic door of the outer city.
"Boss, is it okay to stay here?" asked a goon hesitatingly.
"It's okay... We have superpowers. We will be welcomed anywhere and also leave anytime!" replied the fat teacher arrogantly.
"Yes, the boss is right. Moreover, we need to confirm that the kid is dead or we will face the consequences!" remarked the scar-faced man.
The rest of the goons shivered at that.
"Yes lay low and hide for now! " ordered the fat teacher.
"Yes boss"
"yes, boss!!"
