Sam was overjoyed hearing the reminder. He immediately checked the surroundings if any monsters were lurking and released paperwolves and paperbirds to help him keep guard.
"System I'm ready!" said Sam.
*Affirmative host. Initiating upgrade to level 1. It will take a minute.* remained system in a cold voice.
At that very moment, Sam felt his blood vessels, every cell boiling, muscles tingling, his bones becoming denser and even his skin were hardening. It was an overall change in his genes, awakening their dormant potential yet Sam felt there was some kind of solid barrier stopping him to evolve his body to a higher level.
After 1 minute, Sam finally evolved to level 1. He felt his body at least 2 times stronger than before.

Sam nodded. It was true that defeating someone weaker than you would have no gain to you or else strong people would have slaughtered the weak monsters to amass the gene points. He immediately opened the system window to check his status.

Sam immediately noticed that there was a new stat "Soul power" and scratched his head.
"Syste—.."
"Rooooarrr!!!"
Sam turned around to see beasts approaching him from all sides. He was so happy about the breakthrough that he completely forgot that he was in midst of beast tide.
But Sam was not worried but rather excited. He could kill level 1 monsters like cutting grass while level 2 in some minutes.
Only level 3 beasts would pose some problems to him but he won't be that pathetic like he was in front of that green-eyed chameleon.
Speaking of that poor chameleon, it already died even before Sam could get his revenge!
Sam at the present moment looked like a lunatic as he held his blade in his right hand and paper scrolls in his left arm and madly charged towards the beast horde!
"Kill!!"
In front of Sam was a large pack of wolves charging in from all directions. These were silver-eyed wolves that Sam encountered before.
"Awooooo" roared the beasts and bared their fangs and plunged towards Sam in large numbers. Sam held his blade and slashed at the incoming beasts ferociously.
Bam!~
More than 10 beasts were killed in the slash while the remaining beasts were blown away 20 metres and crashed into the rest of the pack.
The wolves became even more enraged as they gained momentum in their hind limbs and swiftly moved towards Sam waving their claws to tear him apart.
Sam just sneered and opened his paper scrolls of paperbull and paperbird and threw them towards the beasts.
The paperbull was loaded with wind and its goading ability and since it had a strong ability, whenever it rammed onto a wolf, it would get torn apart by the paperbull. Sam coordinated with the paperbird and killed 2 to 3 wolves at every hit of his blade as the paperbird lit them on fire!
It was a complete one-sided massacre of the level 1 wolves but Sam knew that there was an alpha wolf hidden within them, looking for opportunities to kill him.
Sure enough, when Sam was busy slaughtering the wolves, a light flashed past and almost immediately a slightly smaller wolf arrived at the back of Sam and fiercely slashed its claws at his back!
"Argh!!"
Sam immediately slashed the wolf ahead and withdrew from the slaughter area. His back had deep gnashes of claws penetrating his bones! Due to his carelessness, his back instantly became bloody.

Sam cautiously glanced at the remaining 50 wolves desperately fighting his paperarts and still couldn't find the preparator. Sam hurriedly gulped down a high-level healing potion and a health potion. Instantly, he could feel his back wound healing. In an hour, the wound would heal completely. This was the reason Sam bought high-level potions. The better level potions, the better is efficiency.

Sam stood still at his position and watched the battle coldly. Suddenly, his eyes dilated as he dodged to the right and slashed his blade to the left simultaneously.

Sam turned around to see a wolf which was a little smaller than other wolves was snarling at him viciously as it plunged towards him. Its speed was so fast that Sam could hardly capture its trajectory.
Sam knew that he had met a level 3 silver-eyed wolf!!
