I Forgave Him

Rita went to the kitchen got a glass of water for her mum. Honestly, the story was boring her but she couldn't tell her mother that. Eunice drank the water then continued. "So after weeks of begging, and he even came over to town to see me and plead physically. I forgave him, he promised it won't happen again, he promise he won't see any other girl again and would wait for me. Then I thought about how considerate he had been and I forgave him. We went out on dates again then he went back. We continued as usual with calls and romantic messages. And soon I forgot everything that happened, I forgot he ever cheated on me I forgot he ever hurt me. Even

though I forgive him and we were fine, I kept having this constant feeling something wasn't right. Again I had the urge to go visit he, but I had cold feet. What if I visit him again and see what I saw the previously time? What if he hurts me AGAIN? What if he can't keep to his promises?

what if he just said all that to win me over and keep me here only to go back to his life." Eunice explained the thoughts that ran through her head dead and Rita forced her self to listen, she was yet to see how this affected her. Rita was good at controlling her facial expressions, so Eunice didn't notice her daughter's lack of interest and went on with her story. "I knew that if I had told

him of my coming at first he would've made arrangements for me and probably would have

prepared not to caught cheating. So i decided to secretly visit him and

see how much he have changed. I got prepared and went to visit him again. This time, he was at home alone. He was shocked to see me and he acted like was trying to hide somethings but I was too blinded by the happiness of having a loyal boyfriend. We spent that weekend together and it was just as any girl would want. It was nice. After school we got married but I got a teaching job first. I also got the luxury I wanted but it didn't last at all. I never knew that his father's family business had being battling with a lot of set backs and was finally dissolved. Everything we had was gone. We had to live on my pay as a teacher and Davis wasn't making things easy. He became violently, aggressive, a drunkard and women. He carried women with the money I barely earned. And when I tried to talk to him one time. We got into a serious fight. He best the baby I was pregnant with out of me and when things just couldn't get worst. He came home with some thugs. He was beaten thoroughly and his face had a lot of blood on it. He lead them to where I was then pointed at me.
