We Rule over the Island

"No?" The three other people in the dining hall asked in different tones, but Sinclair only proceeded to eat when the maid served his rare steak and a fruit pancake tower for Ainsley. He then dug into his food before gesturing at Ainsley. "Eat up."

"…this is a little disappointing." The woman only laughed out. She then retracted her hand and attended to her food. However, she lifted her gaze to take a look at the pouting Ainsley. For a moment, it made sense to her.

Sinclair shouldn't probably scare the poor man right now.

The woman glanced at Michelle before smiling. "It seemed that Sinclair wouldn't have it that way for now, Mr. Leneghan. I do hope you'll get to know me soon. After all, you are headed to the island with him. If you need any reference, I decided to be called Anastasia."

She had a hand on her chest as if she was rather servile and gentle.

However, Ainsley could detect a bit of anger coming from her. Did this rude man disrespect an elder? Why wouldn't he introduce the woman who saved Ainsley's life? Then again, Ainsley didn't want to openly go against Sinclair right now. He was already a burden and an ingrate in the eyes of the clan Sinclair belonged to.

"It's nice to meet you, Ms. Anastasia."

Bump. Sinclair almost lost his balance when Ainsley suddenly bumped into him deliberately. He only turned to the human, who looked away as if innocent of the bumping. Ainsley was even whistling to annoy Sinclair a little. "What is your problem?"

The human then took a stride to the other side and looked around before looking up at his friend. He then made a sour face. "What was that? I'd rather not? You'd rather not introduce a dear woman to me? She's already old; are you expecting me to flirt with her?"

"You better not get caught calling her old." Sinclair only snorted. "I'm doing you a favor. Be quiet."

"So what's the cove like? I mean, that's what she called it, right?" Ainsley steered the conversation to something else. He had already toured the megayacht and enjoyed the sights as much as he could. However, standing here next to Sinclair was distracting him.

They were taking a look at the view in front of the megayacht from their deluxe room. The white mountain up ahead was barely visible, but it was already because the dragon heart was letting Ainsley see it. As for everyone else that didn't serve the moonlight dragon clan, they wouldn't even see a sliver of the mountain.

Still, it looked like a whitish afterimage to Ainsley.

"The Snowy Moon Cove is a refuge of the dragon clans here in the mortal realm. Our home realm is in disarray, so we tended to keep out of it. It's not like they would let us go there for no reason." Sinclair only hummed as he leaned on the meter-tall glass wall, which made Ainsley pull him back a little. "…we share it with other dragon clans, but we rule over it."

'I ruled over it.'

Sinclair only stepped back to appease the sudden fear he gave Ainsley. He pocketed his hands, only glancing at the three-floor fall in front of him if ever. "Don't worry. As long as you don't walk out of the cove's premises and into the mountains, you'll be safe."

Ainsley didn't let go of Sinclair's shirt, but he nodded in understanding. He only glanced at the glass wall before looking into the distance to see the whitish image, hidden in the fog of the ocean's mirage. "So I can't hike the mountain. Got it."

"We can, but we'll invite unnecessary eyes and sentiments." Sinclair only reached out and petted the other person's head. There was apprehension coming from the human's heart that made Sinclair worry. It was as if something threatened Ainsley… aside from the glass wall. "Are you scared? You'd see more of these… fish monsters. But dammit, don't say that to their faces. I won't save you."

"I guess I am?" Ainsley only murmured before realizing what he just said, not catching the rest. He then cleared his throat and retreated from the glass wall and taking Sinclair a few steps back as well. "Erm, Sinco. I have something to confess to you…"

"…?"

"I broke one of those things in the atrium. You're not billing me for that, right? I swear I didn't mean it." Ainsley only made a pleading grin as he smoothed Sinclair's shirt with his other hand.

Sinclair frowned. No wonder he was scared of the glass wall; he almost fell earlier. However, it didn't match the feeling that he was sensing from Ainsley. "It's alright, I won't. What did you do anyway? Did something chase you?"

He received a head shake from the other guy. Ainsley only chuckled. "I was just careless. You'd find out sooner or later, so I had to say it. Hey, you promised to not make me pay."

Ainsley then let go of the friend and went to sit down at the fluffy bed. The guest even lied down and rolled around like a pet dog that was given access to the bed.

Without a sound, Sinclair pulled out his phone and sent a message to someone. Were they starting already? They hadn't even docked at the cove yet.

At the other end, Stuart picked up his phone and saw Sinclair's message. He frowned at it and then took a look at the crowd of ten workers of the yacht before him. All of them were in black vests and slacks as if it was their uniform. They all had their heads down as well.

"Everyone here does realize that even if the heart does not reside inside Master anymore, it will still impose on his health for power, right?" He then swept his gaze at them all. "Whoever decided to play tricks, step forward. I will be lenient, but Master won't be. Surrender yourself now."

"Sir Stuart…" one of the maids spoke out, "we can't let that murderer step on our island. It's… very wrong. We should kill him before then."
