You're Pretty

Of course, Ainsley couldn't lie to Sinclair. The bitterness that spread all over Ainsley's body was enough of a message to Sinclair that something was already wrong. However, he still saw how Ainsley wanted to find Roth, and so he acted like he still believed his friend. After all, this was all Ainsley's goodwill.

They chatted on their own until Stuart had come to take everyone home. It was strange to see that Sinclair was also tipsy. However, it wasn't like he was going to be loud by then. Everyone else was nursing their drunkenness as they stepped inside the Sprinter. Only the secretaries were clear that they couldn't drink while still serving the CEO.

In the end, Sinclair turned on the TV in the back of the Sprinter, and the group grew loud from the impromptu karaoke session that Ainsley started. It was even the first time that they heard Sinclair sing a few parts. His voice wasn't bad, and the group really found it worth coming tonight.

Wednesday morning came, and all those who had gone to the sudden party were back to their office behavior. Perhaps only Ainsley and Sinclair were in denial that another workday was here.

Sinclair wasn't a workaholic, even if he dedicated most of his life to raising an empire. He was a dragon that hoarded money that he grew; he wasn't a human with no life outside work. In fact, Sinclair had a lot of things to attend to outside his office.

As for Ainsley, no need to say why. He was just a normal human who felt secure in his tenure. A few absences and tons of vacations were something he loved. However, he knew that he couldn't be alive anymore if he didn't work his ass off.

In the end, both of them growled as soon as their phone alarms rang.

Since the two had slept over Sinclair's place, they could pretty much walk towards the tower in just fifteen minutes. Sinclair would prefer a car ride, but he hadn't been hitting the gym lately. He just decided to walk when Ainsley suggested it. After all, the human was getting sleepy whenever he rode Sinclair's car that was filled with comfort.

"Wow, the sun isn't even hot right now." Ainsley woke up to a sunny day, so he dragged Sinclair for a walk. With Stuart following them as well, it wasn't really much of a problem. If someone attacked them, then two people could fight back.

"I don't like it." The opposite happened to Sinclair. The sun was making him sleepy as if it was ingrained in his genes as a moonlight dragon. However, he decided to walk, so he could only endure the sleepiness. Then, he got a whiff of a familiar scent. He didn't know why, but… he could smell Roth around them.

When Sinclair paused and looked around, both Ainsley and Stuart followed shortly. The human didn't know what they were looking for, but he felt something inside him. The same feeling of wanting to come near washed over him again. He then looked around again, spotting the woman from yesterday. However, she was in a different style of outfit.

The woman was now in a strawberry dress and lush brown hair as if her blonde hair yesterday was a wig. Her arms were concealed by a skin-tone long-sleeved shirt under her dress. She looked like she had just finished shopping for groceries.

Actually, Ainsley couldn't recognize her with his eyes alone. It was only his mind that was convincing him that he was looking at the same person.

"It's her." Upon picking up the direction of the faintest scent, Sinclair zeroed in on the woman. He didn't know why his brother's scent was on her, but he intended to interrogate her just the same.

Without caring about traffic, he suddenly crossed the streets in hopes of following the woman. Stuart and Ainsley quickly reacted and followed suit; within them was a kind of panic.

"What's wrong, Master? We can just have someone else tail her if she's—"

"No, I can smell Roth." Sinclair even ran ahead after cutting off Stuart. However, the two others only went to chase him as they heard a rather familiar name. He could smell Roth on the woman? What was that he was trying to say?

Around the corner, the three decided to continue tailing the woman. As if sensing them, the woman paused and turned around. Sinclair didn't even hide from her as he walked straight up to her. "Miss…" He couldn't even speak; the scent was really coming from her!

The woman only looked at the three men she met at the elevator. These men were so suspicious, and she didn't want to be around them at all. Her eyes grew filled with worry and fear before she tried to smile. "Hello, Mr. Sinco, can I help you with something?"

At this juncture, Sinclair wondered what he should say. He couldn't tell her that she was giving off a trace of someone else's scent, right? Actually, she had a mix of scents like she had been around a lot of foul-smelling humans. It was as if her very skin didn't even have a scent of its own.

This kind of human… Sinclair knew exactly how this would come to be.

"You're pretty." At a rather helpless state, Sinclair spat out words that he figured he had never told anyone before. That was also why Ainsley and Stuart were both taken aback. Why was the CEO saying this to a random woman?

"…" The woman only stared at him before chuckling lightly as if entertained. However, the three could tell that her actions were not even genuine. It was as if she was an actress trying to act out a role. She then shook her head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Sinco. I don't work from Wednesday to Friday. Also, you need to book me through the website, so I won't get a penalty."

She placed down her bags and fished for a card from her thin wallet. She handed it to Sinclair, who received it despite the repulsion he was feeling. Carrying her bags again, she only nodded as she bade 'goodbye' to the three men in suits.

Ainsley took a look at the business card she just handed Sinclair, who looked very appalled at what he had done. With a stifled laugh, he stuffed the card back into Sinclair's hands.

It was Stuart's turn to take a look… only to frown. "Master Roth books escort services?"
