Am I Your Pet?

When she said 'real woman', she was expecting that Roth would be surprised. Even if she didn't want him to grow disgusted, she knew that Roth wasn't aware of her real identity. She didn't realize that even that secret was easy for him to tell. He actually knew about it, and yet…

"My expertise, huh." Alice chuckled. She just sat down on the bed again and took a look at him. Such a very handsome young man, and yet he was asking her to come with him… just because of her expertise. She wasn't new to young masters who spent money like water, but she normally didn't want them to be straying too far.

Her long silence irritated Roth. He turned to her and frowned down at her bitter smile. "I'm still waiting for an answer, Alice Campbell. Are you coming with me or not?"

She then patted the space next to her. "Sit down, Mr. Roth. Let me talk to you first."

"I don't need a lecture." He said so, but he still sat down. "I know what I'm doing. Now, if you don't like it, you can say 'no'." His frown, however, said otherwise. No one lived through declining Roth.

"No, you need to make me understand why I should come with you." Alice only smiled at him, but the bitterness in it was gone. All he could see was a very warm smile. She then reached out her hand and rubbed one of his cheeks. "Enlighten me, Roth."

Roth suddenly blushed.

"Plans?" Sinclair lifted his brows when Ainsley asked him about the matter again. They just ate dinner, and so the glutton couldn't just go to sleep. Just now, he remembered his other questions. Of course, Sinclair just deflected him. "You can't let it go, can you?"

"Hm? Well, I just want to know what a Sinclair King would do to save someone like her." Ainsley flashed a grin before looking down at his phone. Actually, he saw the news report about the house from where they picked up Alice. That was why he decided to ask Sinclair again.

They couldn't just leave her on her own after showing her monsters, right?

Sinclair only sighed and massaged his temples. Putting down his phone from where he was reviewing some reports, he turned to Ainsley. "Ms. Campbell is already Roth's property. It's obvious that there's nothing I can do about her now. Else, I would unnecessarily attract his ire for a woman I have no use for."

"Property?" Ainsley frowned. "How could she become his property?"

"We still see ourselves as a race that is way higher than the humans. Think of it as how a little girl picks up a stray and owns it as a pet." Sinclair hummed. It was normal for dragons to take in humans as pets; the only difference between a stray and an actual human was that the latter had established laws against that kind of activity.

Moreover, dragons were extremely possessive of their pets. Roth would never let him lay a finger on that woman. Perhaps, this was one of the reasons why Sinclair was hoping to get rid of that strange doctor. He really didn't like that guy at all.

At his answer, Ainsley frowned deeper. "Am I your pet?"

Sinclair was quickly pulled out from his thoughts by that question. He then stared at Ainsley's narrowed eyes and grumpy expression. His hand then reached out and petted the human. "There, there, chonky boy."

"No! I'm not a pet!" Ainsley growled and jumped at Sinclair to hold his head in a lock. However, Sinclair only used his left arm to block the headlock, not letting Ainsley choke him with those flabby arms. It's just that…

"Got you now!" As if expecting that defensive move, Ainsley only suddenly let go and just went for the left arm and the chest that was wide open. Sinclair even groaned as he was tackled down to the bed. His friend might be weaker than him, but his friend's tackling power was another story.

"Damn Malamute…"

The sun was not even up yet when Sinclair walked into a different hotel room. He had to leave while Ainsley was in the depths of his sleep. Actually, even the dragon was also sleepy. However, upon receiving Michelle's report, he had to come and see it for himself.

His coal eyes soon landed on the regal figure that sat on the lounge. The room had no lamps turned on, and so the only light was coming from the glass wall with drawn curtains. The moon shone on the regal man, but his skin was not changing due to the refraction of direct moonlight.

After Sinclair walked in, Roth came just minutes later. He was very unhappy about the summons, but he couldn't escape it. Even if Sinclair was the most powerful among them and the overlord of the dragon clans on the island, they still decided to heed most of their father's demands.

Right now, Full Moon Lupin was sitting under the moonlight, gazing at his full-grown adult children who thought that it was a good thing to ignore him if he didn't summon them. His green eyes then landed on them as well, competing with the hidden annoyance in both of theirs.

He then spoke, "I figured you wouldn't come to see me even if you already found your brother. It seems that I have more chances of seeing the two of you when you're both corpses."

"Father, I want to find the cannibal who caught me off-guard and bring his head to you before coming to the Cove," Roth answered quite hastily. It was the real reason why he had stayed, after all. However, the fury in his father's eyes didn't let up. This caused Roth to step back involuntarily.

"Father, how much of the city have you seen?" Sinclair then asked a strange question that attracted Lupin's attention and ire. "There are a lot of things in the city that Roth couldn't trade for his own safety. Even if he should be recuperating in the Cove, he refused to go home. Would you like to witness one of them in two days?"

Lupin frowned at the older son. This Full Moon Rosen knew his ways to manipulate this poor father, and Lupin knew it very well. Right now, he was appealing to Lupin's intrigue and curiosity to forget about his anger. "What is it?"

Sinclair then pulled on his lips. "One of his favorite things, the Grand Draw."
