His Property

"You should be aware of what she is. Do what you like." Sinclair only left Roth to do what he thought was necessary. At this, Roth snorted at him again. The younger dragon walked away from them and waited for the next elevator. He knew Alice's room number, anyway.

When he was gone, the three decided to proceed to their rooms as well. When Ainsley was left alone with Sinclair in their VIP room, he then pulled a long face. "You should be aware of what she is? I thought you don't hate her for being an escort?"

Sinclair only shrugged his shoulder. It probably wouldn't hurt for Ainsley not to know. Besides, he didn't have any idea if Alice was okay with people knowing about his real identity. What if she suddenly felt bad if Ainsley opened it up? What if Ainsley acted awkward around her as well?

The dragons all had a protected identity of their own. At the very least, they all knew how to respect things that others wouldn't like to show.

"Hmph, I can't believe you." Ainsley then started to remove layers of his clothing to sleep. After all, it was already sleeping time. Then again, he realized that he had not eaten yet. Even if he loved eating, he was starting to forget about it more and more. "Hey, Sinclair, aren't you hungry? I almost forgot to eat again."

"Not really. We can call for room service if you like." Sinclair said 'we', but he was just asking Ainsley to do it himself. After all, the human didn't move slow when it came to food. "Are you beginning not to think about eating?"

"Yep. It's weird. Does it have to do anything with your magic? That's magic, right?" Ainsley murmured before raising a hand to stop him from answering. It was because the kitchen had already answered the phone. "Yeah, can I order for the specials?"

Sinclair only watched him place an order. He didn't bother answering anymore because Ainsley would forget about it soon. He only removed his suit jacket and lied down on the bed. He should only strip down some more after the hotel attendant dealt with their food.

In Alice's room, she was only sitting on the bed. She was browsing the news on her phone, and she inevitably saw the report about her unit. After all, there was blood all over the floor of the lounge and the bathroom. The witnesses had also seen strange people. What made the case strange was that photographs of the men in suits were very blurred even if the background was so clear.

Knowing that they were strange creatures, Alice didn't think too much about it. She only sighed about the fact that she could not go back to that place anymore. For a moment, she clutched at her skirt at the thought of being homeless.

"Hey."

Alice was shocked to hear Roth's voice all of a sudden, and she turned to her side to find him leaning on the wall, his arms crossed on his chest. She then patted her chest and smiled at him. "You surprised me. I forgot that you can turn invisible."

A snort answered her before he got off of the wall and walked in front of her. "Alice Campbell, are you still going out with those putrid-smelling humans in the future? I don't know who they are, but their disgusting scents have gotten stuck on you. I can only tell that they're not good people."

Blink. Alice could only blink her eyes before she curled her lips again. "I guess you can say that. After all, that's all I can do to feed myself. Unlike you, I can't just kill chickens and cook them just because I want to. Don't worry. I can deny—"

"Come with me."

"Hm?" Alice didn't know where this was coming from. Was Roth asking her to come with him to a place tonight? "Where are we going?"

"Mostly casinos all over the country, but I normally go to Golden Disc. Other places, too, but only on a whim." Roth didn't even have a change of expression on his face. He then blinked at the wide eyes Alice was giving him. "What? You move around a lot as well. You can handle that, at least."

The woman slowly got up and looked at him from a closer point. Even if she borrowed height from her high heels, she was still shorter than Roth. Her hands reached out to touch the man's cheeks as if gauging his reaction to her touch.

"Mr. Roth, I can go with you everywhere you want to, but… I still need to work."

"Money is not an issue. I can sometimes win in the casino. Most time, I can just ask for Sinclair's money. A few million dollars is not hard for him to hand over." Roth lifted a brow as if not knowing what she was doing. "Why are you putting your hands on my face?"

Alice only stared at him still. She then spoke slowly, "Are you going to pay me, Mr. Roth?"

Roth took a moment to answer. "What for? You only need money for food, right? We can eat when you want to. Like I said, money is not an issue."

"Why? Why are you asking me to come with you?" Alice soon chuckled as she brought her hands down. She couldn't move away because the bed was behind her. "If you want to have a companion for a long time, shouldn't you opt for a real woman at least…?"

"Why?" It didn't take him a moment to answer this time. "Real women get pregnant and could be taken away by charismatic men. Your expertise had rendered you immune to them, so why would I think of someone else? After all, you get in trouble a lot. If I leave you alone, who will help you?"

Roth then turned away as if waiting for her answer by then. He actually didn't want to take her, but the thought of Sinclair aiding her to have some kind of life didn't sit well with him for some reason.

It was as if he had seen her getting attacked one night and decided then and there that she was his property to protect and keep alive. It was strange, especially for someone like him. He had never felt the need to take care of anyone before.

That being said, there was no way he would let Sinclair touch any part of her.
