The Grand Draw

After five minor prizes were given, the first major prize was up on-screen. The colorful display had a roulette of numbers. It was a six-digit combination that would correspond to a card used by the guests in the casino to pay. Everyone watched it in anticipation for seconds until a combination was spouted. Someone's cheer was then heard from the gambling floor.

Roth frowned. One of the prizes had been given away. He suddenly felt so nervous. He was one of those who burned their money on this grand draw. Then again, it wasn't like he didn't win even once in any of his games. Still, he really wanted to at least get something from this high-stake draw.

The screen then featured the winning man and was given the keys to the yacht. The guests then chattered as they realized that everyone who won the major prizes would be given a few seconds of fame. They all secretly wanted to win anything major.

"Roth, don't appear in such a broadcast." Upon seeing this, though; Wallace frowned. Before Roth and Anastasia could say anything otherwise, Sinclair agreed with their father. He said: "You were being watched before you were attacked. What made you think they wouldn't see this?"

"Tch, I'm not even sure if I could win any yet." His frown turned into sour resentment before leaning back against the couch he was sitting at. As soon as he did so, Alice chuckled. She was holding his six cards, so she had something to cross-reference with for the numbers.

Her hand only reached out to tap at Roth. "You won five-hundred grand! It's one of the minor prizes. See? The second card won!"

Ainsley moved to take a look at the card she shared the view with him and confirmed it. "Whoa, sweet! What's the biggest prize you won from a draw, Roth?!"

At the mention of his name without any formalities, Roth frowned. However, he just sat up straight and took a look at the screen. It's just that the screen changed even before he could finish looking. It was good that he received an email notification from the casino about his prize.

The shine in his eyes was hard to conceal. Even his lips were trying their best to hide the victorious smile that was very similar to that of Sinclair. "I'll claim it later. I might win something bigger."

He then glanced at Ainsley, forgetting his insolence of calling Roth plainly by his name. "My biggest pay-out was twenty million from that other big casino. It's just that they didn't give it to me. Tch, they still deserve getting closed down."

"Oh? Damn." Ainsley frowned and pouted. He remembered that Sinclair closed down one of the casinos in a different state for not paying the guests that won money from the raffles the casino held. They would rake in a lot of money from the entries, but they would do all sorts to invalidate winnings bigger than a million.

In the end, not only were they liquidated to pay the twenty million and the other prizes, but the whole board and the CEO were also sent to jail for related charges.

"Where is that twenty million, then?" Anastasia simply asked because she hadn't seen anywhere that it could have gone. Roth didn't have properties like Sinclair. The Cove didn't also receive a single cent from Roth as well. Where did it go?

"…right there." Sinclair gestured at the screen and laughed. Well, it was true. Roth burned all his money in this Grand Draw. Since the brother had to hide the real estate that Roth bought under Sinclair's name, he could only make Roth look so irresponsible. The little brother wanted to hide wealth from the clan, and so Sinclair obliged.

"Roth." With a sharp frown, Anastasia eyed the son who even lied back down to hide behind Alice. However, Wallace only shook his head. There were things that this wife couldn't read at all. Roth had a brother like Sinclair; did she really believe that Roth was that much of a wastrel?

Moreover, why would Sinclair continue giving huge amounts of money to his brother if he was not getting it outside King Industries? That was not simply Sinclair at all.

While the dragons were all talking, Ainsley and Alice were more focused on the Grand Draw. The first check prize was already won, and the third batch of minor prizes was rolling. They had three cards each and were cross-referencing enthusiastically. It seemed that Roth's other cards also won other minor prizes. There were so many minor prizes given away; no wonder Roth was excited.

"That's a total of seven-fifty grand already. That's so many." Alice sighed softly. Her biggest paycheck had never reached past a hundred, and she already thought that was big. Right now, she was holding onto cards that would receive a lot bigger.

"Second check." Ainsley nudged at her arm with his elbow, and they both took a look at the screen in front of them. However, it was still quite far from the numbers on the cards. They were even disgruntled as if those cards belonged to them instead.

Stuart and Michelle had their own conversation over a personal chat, so no other voices were heard when the humans started talking. The dragons were also quiet, suddenly remembering that there were other people around them. Then again, the two were so focused on the draw that they didn't care about the dragons.

Uncaring of the silence, Ainsley chuckled again. "Hey, the prize this time is a Ferrari!" He then turned to Sinclair who was drinking his cocktail. "How much is a Portofino? Is that expensive?"

"It is." The CEO only sighed with a smile. That was the only time that Ainsley realized that they were the only ones excited about the prizes. However, he only pouted a little and paid attention to the screen. There was a speech from the owner of the casino.

"There's a party later after the Grand Draw. They want me there," Sinclair spoke as he remembered when he saw the owner's face. Even if he didn't want to go, the casino had been filling up his personal pockets. "Are you staying with me, or are you coming with Roth to play in the casino?"

"I think I'll—" Upon hearing the question, Ainsley stammered. It's just that Alice suddenly gasped. "It's my card! The condominium unit!"
