Making a Home out of It

While Ainsley reveled in the joy of getting the Ferrari with one of the cards, Alice remained focused on the Grand Draw as her cards didn't win anything anymore. All of Ainsley's cards had already won something, and so he didn't stay focused all that much. In contrast, Alice seemed to still watch with eagle eyes. The fourth major prize was the condominium unit, and it was her favorite.

How shocking was it to imagine that one of Roth's cards did win the unit!

It wasn't her card, but she was so happy. She didn't really look to getting it for herself, but at least she could see it when Roth invites her over. The place was so fancy and so much to her liking.

"Then, claim it." Roth only huffed as he nudged at her back. He also grew excited when he heard about it, but the words of his father and his brother echoed in his head and within their gazes thrown at him. No matter, it was still under his name. "Sinclair, ask your servant to help her out."

"Let us leave for it, Ms. Campbell." Stuart received a cue from Sinclair, and he left his master in the care of the other servant of the moonlight dragons.

"I'm claiming it?" Alice was shocked. It wasn't hers ultimately; wouldn't she be bitter about it after handing the keys to Roth.

Seeing the look in her eyes, Sinclair only grunted. "Roth doesn't have a knack for keeping houses. If anything, he'd just sell that place, if not leave it to your care. It's best for you to claim it for yourself. You like the house, anyway."

Instead of looking at Sinclair, Alice's eyes bored a hole into Roth's image in both confusion and anticipation. The younger dragon didn't want to say those words himself, but this woman didn't even give him mercy. He returned her gaze with a glare. "They're waiting for the claimer. Go on. It's going to be yours, anyway. I can't use that to buy chips or casino credits"

"Whaaaa! I love you!" Alice dove to hug Roth out of nowhere and even did it so tight that Roth choked in panic and shock. She pecked at his cheek before racing to the door without waiting for Stuart. The secretary left with a bow and inevitably ran after the woman.

For some reason, Sinclair maniacally laughed out at Roth's visual misery.

A glare was the only answer Roth could give. There were things that they could leave Ainsley in the dark, but every dragon in the room could tell after a few good looks at Alice Campbell. Moreover, there were reasons that Roth was scared.

Wallace and Anastasia watched in silence. Their thoughts were very different from that of each other, but both of them gave heavy gazes at Roth. They were then regarded by Roth after some seconds. "Uhm… this is…"

"Ainsley, come with me for a moment." Michelle suddenly took Ainsley's arm and dragged him out of the room without another word.

The human felt like this was going to be a family discussion, so he came with her nonetheless. However, he didn't think that Wallace and Anastasia were that conservative in nature. Then again, when he remembered that Alice was an escort, he somewhat felt like he knew what the conversation would sound like. He just hoped that they wouldn't push Alice away from Roth.

After all, Sinclair had told him a few things.

"Is it going to be okay?" He then turned to Michelle, who only sat with him at the sitting area by the stairs. "I mean… Roth seemed to have gotten too attached to Alice. It was the first time this had happened, Sinclair said."

"Yes, that's true. Master Roth never did a double-take at any human before… unless he was looking to eat them then and there." Michelle didn't think too much because she knew the issue. "It's just a preferential matter. It's not new for dragons, who cared so little about things like that. After all, the imperial family only had Sinclair and Roth as their masters. Every offspring would matter… especially when none are produced up until now."

As if he didn't see it coming, Ainsley was shocked. "I heard Sinclair had been reborn quite a few times already. He didn't have children in any of them?"

Michelle took a look at him before smiling. "Sinclair… ah, no, Rosen is not the type who cared about those matters. After all, he just used to be so focused on being the bulwark of the clan. He was prepared to die at any moment.

"It's just that… none who attacked us could even make him suffer. He was very powerful."

Her eyes inevitably heavily cast at Ainsley. "Was."

She then moved to face him. "Most of the Stein family and all the elders are looking at you as if you are responsible for what happened to him… to his power. It's just that they couldn't accept the fact that Rosen had grown so bored. He had gotten too strong that most threats were child's play to him. He didn't really even have to rely on his dragon heart anymore when fighting."

With a soft sigh and a bitter smile, Michelle hooked her hair behind her ear. "I can't understand his decision fully, but I just figured that Rosen had his reasons for breaking the confidence of the clan and making a very selfish action for your sake. Don't expect everyone to like you in the clan."

She then erased the seemingly strange and melancholic look in her eyes. The woman suddenly cheekily smiled at him. "That's why they were at least expecting children from them two before they completely forsook the clan. After all, Master Roth is quite similar to Sinclair in thinking. Hee-hee, you have no idea how upset they both were at Roth right now."

While Michelle gossiped with Ainsley, Alice and Stuart were working on the claiming of the unit. As they walked back to the VIP Lounge 4, Alice had the keys in her hands. Her glittering eyes were on the keys. She figured that even if Roth moved around a lot, he still hoped to have a place to come home to. Now that he won a house, he just needed to make a home out of it.

However, she suddenly felt like familiar eyes returned to her surroundings. She then looked around. 'These eyes… were they really watching Roth?'
