The people in the casino were all running around in panic as if they heard the roar. Doors were locking down, and Sinclair frowned as he couldn't even get to the next hallway as it was closed down by the guards. The wing he needed to go to was past the guards, but no matter how the others begged to return to their lounges on that side, the guards wouldn't let them.
In fact, the guards were even visibly armed with their high-caliber guns. They would shoot down anyone who forced their way to the other side. His teeth gritted upon running out of options. He could either take down those men and endanger the others or flash past the guards.
However, the hallway in front of them was so long. Even if he could flash past the guards, he didn't have anywhere to hide when the flash ran out. He didn't have that ability that Roth had, how the rascal remained invisible as long as he had magic.
"…my wife is on that side. Are you not really going to let me pass?" Sinclair fearlessly shoved one man in front of him and showed himself to the hostile guards. Of course, they knew who he was, and so they didn't visibly aim at him like the first few people.
"Mr. King, congratulations on the wedding, but we can't let anyone—not even you—pass through us. We have orders." The leader of the guards in the area used his hand to stop Sinclair instead. "If you insist again, I might have to be more… enthralling."
"You plan to feed me bullets?" Sinclair lifted a brow and looked around. It seemed that most guards had their eyes on the people than on him. Did they think that a single man was enough to stop a Sinclair King? He then sighed, still not stepping back.
He then cast his gaze at the leader who was visibly looking past him. "Mister Guard, I really love that wife of mine. I'm sorry if I have to bother you."
Before the leader could make sense of the words coming from his mouth, Sinclair grabbed the leader's hand and bit right through the sleeve. His dragon teeth shot out and retracted almost in a split second to keep the poison from not spilling into the poor human. Then again, the kind of teeth he had was akin to bullets that punched holes on people.
Everyone was shocked when they saw Sinclair King, a very distinguished personality in the business world, grabbed a man's arm to bite. What made things worse was that blood spurted when he roughly pulled away to dash across the guarded hallway.
"Dammit, what the hell?!" The leader grabbed his arm and fought the shock from the excruciating pain. It was as if he was stabbed by multiple knives instead of getting bitten. When he checked the wound, it was profusely bleeding. The cuts the 'teeth' made were so deep that his arm was wholly swollen. Was he really bitten by a human?
Of course, one of them tried to run after Sinclair, but the man had vanished. The guards only returned to their posts, while the leader had one of them help him with his wound. The guard bandaging the arm then chuckled. "Now we have proof that Sinclair King is really a beast."
…
Minutes ago…
The prince from another clan had calculated all the possible ways that such a green mist could protect its master. Due to the kind of presence it had as a very thin barrier, the prince didn't think that it would even be able to protect Ainsley if he attacked from out of its reach.
It's just that reality was cruel… to him.
The moment he dashed forward for an attack, the green mist took on a form of a small wyvern. Since it was still made of mist, the figure was so vague even if it brought a very strange presence that even Michelle was not familiar with. It became white and swooped down to face him head-on. Unlike its docile facade, it even spewed out a powerful water cannon from its mouth.
Incredible strength came from the blast that was enough to make the prince shift into the defensive all of a sudden. The water crashed against him and effortlessly corroded the shield he had for himself. In so much fright, the prince even phased out of the material to avoid the water.
"What is this?" The prince was so confused. A human shouldn't be able to conjure such a thing.
The female servant tried to attack the wyvern, but it also spewed out water balls in her direction. She countered it with her winds, but the water didn't budge. The balls hit her in different places, blasting her flesh and decimating her mortal body. In just a few attacks, the servant died.
As if fixing its eyes on him as the enemy, the white wyvern then followed the prince around the area. When the prince was about to leave the huge battlefield by phasing through the wall, the white wyvern suddenly roared. The roar was so powerful and laced with so much magic that it knocked the prince back into the material form.
"What on earth… this is madness!" The prince collided against the wall because he simply had no time to change directions. He held onto his shoulder that bounced against the barrier that he placed to ensure the death of the servant and the human. He then looked at the white wyvern that was hot on his heels. His teeth gritted before he moved to lure it further.
"Michelle—" Ainsley was about to ask Michelle when he felt something appeared behind him. He couldn't even turn before claws swatted down at him from behind. As if the shield of the dragon heart wasn't triggered by the attack, three wounds dug deep into Ainsley's neck. If he wasn't able to move away mid-attack, his head would have left his shoulders.
Hot blood spurted on Michelle's face as she could only watch the thing happen. She was too weak to respond to her senses even if she felt the incoming attack. Her eyes widened as she felt like time slowed down when Ainsley fell down with his hands trying to keep himself from bleeding out.
However, with that amount of blood oozing from his wounds, that was impossible.
