Chapter 17: Their True Words

Camille stood in front of the black blob that used to be like her pet during the night before.

They faced inside a white-washed space, devoid of the whole world.

It's just both of them.

Her expression looked kind and soft.

"I don't need you anymore," She said, straight away. "You can go away now."

Camille's chest had a heart-shaped light blue glow again. The black blob squirmed upon its sight.

"Yes, it's true," She smiled. "I've found my peace now. I can sleep well during bedtime now and I don't feel too lonely anymore. The anxiety's gone as well. My life feels lighter and prettier right now."

She intently and sincerely stared at the black.

"But I have to thank you for accompanying me. I learned and experienced a lot because of you. But I have to say goodbye now."

As the black blob slowly fades away, Camille's consciousness begins to return.

She woke up from the king-sized bed and sat up, looking at the peaceful sight in the room.

The others are still asleep.

Camille went down to the golden table, ate her breakfast, and went out of the castle.

Walking outside and feeling the gentle brilliance of the warm sun, she reminisces one of her most painful memories at the comfort, being in that world, away and distant.

A few weeks during the time Camille was attending the therapies, she remembered her parents always arguing about their finances.

Few months ago at the Rousseau household…

Mr. and Mrs. Rousseau kept on yelling at each other about problems regarding finances.

Soon, they broke off their joint account and had separated everything regarding money.

From what they earn to what they have to pay, they split off like they weren't a married couple.

At that time, Camille felt anxious about their family slowly breaking apart.

To add to her fears, a certain incident happened that made her snap and fall to depression even further.

One day, while she was in therapy, the Rousseau household was informed that their child, Arthur, had been abducted.

Their precious and genius child was taken, shaking their complacency.

As soon as this was heard, Mr. Albert Rousseau bolted towards his daughter and slapped her hard, making her fall down. It caused a commotion among the maids and butlers.

Mrs. Claire Rousseau came in frightened and jittery, seeing the scene.

She cried and sobbed while hearing her husband shouting at Camille.

That day, not only did Albert raise his hand against his daughter, but Camille had heard the most hurtful words that came out from her father's mouth.

He yelled for almost half an hour, which felt like forever to Camille, who was being humiliated and looked down on.

That day, she heard how both her father and mother expressed their disappointment and contempt towards her.

It was hideous.

"This is how they really feel about me," Camille thought, feeling indignant. "I knew this was so unfair."

Her brother's image flashed across her mind and it only maddened her that she looked so done and weary.

Mr. Albert Rousseau found out about Camille's therapy and not only did he warn her that she was to never return to those sessions.

He even abolished the medical professionals and organizers behind it.

The therapy program dissolved and it felt like Camille had nowhere to run to anymore.
