Chapter 1 A Miserable Death

Min yoo looked around and looked at the dark sky outside. The moon was shiny and full of life, and here she was dying in a warehouse after killing those who were supposed to kill her. In a way, she got her vengeance, but what was the point of vengeance. It was meaningless if she died here and a miserable death at that, not an honorable death where she saves a life or something which she'd be recognized for.

She leaned against the wall and dialed the number of her brother from the phone that she took from Min ho's dead body. The phone rang, and her wounds continued to bleed. She was in such a miserable state that anyone would pity her.

RING! RING! RING!

"Hello, who am I talking to?" said Sung jae in a carefree and cold yet poilte tone.

Upon hearing the voice of her dear brother, she struggled to bring the phone near her ears and whispered to him in a muffled and hoarse modulation," O-oppa! "

Flustered after hearing the pained voice of his little sister, Cassian panicked and said," Mi-Min yoo is that you? Why does your voice sound like that? Is something the matter?"

"O-oppa, s-stop w-with a-all t-these q-questions" she coughed blood and continued," I'm i-injured a-and I-I'm dying. D-don't ask m-e h-how, w-what's been done, h-has b-been d-done, like you always used to s-say, haha," she chuckled a little.

"Wha-what? Y-you're dying?"

"J-just l-listen, b-brother. I-I d-don't h-have m-much t-time l-left. T-tell mom a-nd d-dad tha-t I am s-sorry for b-being s-such a b-bad d-daughter. Tell t-them that I-I love the-m, I a-always have. P-please g-give f-find m-e an-d g-give m-e a pro-per b-burial. I love you o-oppa; I-I'm so -"

Before she could continue what she was desperately trying to say, her body gave out, and she fell across the ground, which had been dyed red because of her blood. She could hear her brother calling out her name despairingly, but there was nothing she could do. She had no strength to move, talk, or do anything at all. Her eyes grew blurry as everything around her became pitch black. She let the darkness swallow her as she drifted and drifted till she could think nothing at all. Her consciousness had completely faded.

=======================================

It was dark, and nothing could be seen clearly. Some faint noises and inaudible sounds could be heard. Her eyes opened slightly, and some undiscernible things could be seen. Some people were shaking her up awake. She thought that her brother must have tracked her location, and she must have been brought to the hospital and that she was in the operating room where they were trying to save her. She could not bother to think, her head throbbed so much that she wished to just die.

She had lost the will to live due to all the pain she was being through. One part of her mind told her to give up, and the other told her not to, that her parents and brother were waiting for her. All the 28 years of her life were flashing before her eyes. She was filled with some regrets, but there was nothing she could do. She began to pray so that her family would be able to move on if she died. She knew how things might end, but she still tried to wake up. However, she fainted instantly once again as her mind drifted once again.

=======================================

Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!

Chirping sounds could be heard from outside the window. The bright sun shone inside the room, driving away the darkness. The cool breeze flowed gently inside. It brushed past the small, shabby bed. The midnight silver locks fluttered along the winds. The little girl on the bed turned to the side with a frown on her face.

She was wearing ragged, dirty, and oversized clothes. The little girl was a four year old child despite how she was bony and skinny. She was so small that one might mistake her for an infant year old child instead. Her cheeks were sunken, showing how she must have been malnourished. Her skin was rough and dirty; she had a lot of bruises on the back of her hands and elbows as well on her legs. Her little neck was covered with scars.

Anyone who would see this would be horrified to think of what this small child had gone through. The girl slowly opened her small eyes, revealing a grey-white iris that looked like snow or the clouds. It was kind of enigmatic and unfathomable.

She looked at the ceiling and muttered under her breath," Is this the hospital? Was I saved? Did brother track my location and save me?"

A myriad of questions coursed through her head, which she had no answers to. Every part of her body ached, and there was a numbing sensation everywhere, but she could feel every part of her limbs. She moved her hands a little and tried to lift her body up in a sitting posture and looked around. She was a little relieved to know that she was alive. She was afraid a little, but at the same time, she did not care.

For some reason, the room she was in looked way too shabby and little to be called a hospital room, especially when there were dirt and scribbles on the walls. There was no medical equipment, nor were there any machines that would keep her conditions in check. There was only a small table, a bed which she was lying in, a mirror and some ragged clothes in the corner of the cramped room. She was so confused by this, so she removed the blanket on her so that she could place her foot on the ground and look around to confirm her situation.

As soon as she saw her legs, she stupefied on the spot. She was speechless by what she was seeing. Small feet, that was skinny and bony. She then glanced at her hands, which were the same as her legs. She was too concerned about whether she was alive earlier that she did not notice that her legs felt short and so were her arms.

She touched her frail arms and stared at her frail legs. She punched the pillow angrily and picked a shard of glass that was on the floor near the bed. She held it carefully and looked at her reflection. Her eyes almost popped out of her socket as she panicked and shouted in frustration as she was in a deeply confused state," WHAT IN THE HECK IS GOING ON? WHY AM I A CHILD? DID I DIE OR NOT? SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME, GOD DAMN IT!"
