Before the transmigration,
Ring! Ring! The phone continued to rang until it was picked up.
"Hello, what is it, brother? Is something the matter?" said a delicate, sweet voice that came from the stunning women who just walked out of the skyscraper.
"Oh, it's nothing, Min-yoo. I was just worried about you since it's been a while since I have last seen you. To think you ghost me out for a month. Anyway, it's your bir-," said Sung jae, the older brother of Kim Min yoo on the other side of the phone.
Before he could finish what he intended to say to his little sister, Min yoo cut him off by saying," Brother, I'm in a bad mood right now, so I'm hanging up. Bye!"
She hung the phone and walked on the side of the road and waited for a taxi after putting the phone back in her bag. Min yoo wore a white, long skirt with pink flowers on it and a mini pink blouse that was long sleeved. She wore high heels despite her tall stature. She had a small face, and she was pale like a ghost. She had rosy lips and deep green eyes. Her long, black, silky, and straight hair flowed down her shoulders.
She had just gotten off work. She was originally from a rich and prestigious family, her father was one of the richest man of the world, Kim Gong Chan but she moved out due to some disagreements that had occurred when she was arguing with her parents. They wanted to send her abroad so that she could study further in order to inherit the family business, but she wanted to continue her career which was why she moved out to live her life and show her parents that she did not have the intention to be the heiress of the family business. It's been two years since then. Although she made up with her parents, she was not interested in moving back as her apartment was near her workplace.
Her only brother often went to the United States to settle his business. He also did not wish to inherit the family business. He created his own business, which he built from scratch, and he also oversees the business without anyone's help. They have loving parents, but they were strict and were always busy. The siblings depended on each other to become what they are today. She was a famous lawyer who had a 99% winning rate. She never lost any of the cases she took upon and always proved the innocence of her clients.
Her brother was a world-class businessman who had never failed to obtain what he wanted. He was known as the genius entrepreneur. He has some connections in the underworld that Min yoo was aware of as she had overheard her brother while he was talking to his subordinate on his phone ;although, their parents don't have any clue about what their son is up to. They both did not live with their parents, but they visited once in a while when there is an occasion or an important event.
As a lawyer, she faced many hurdles which caused her to make many enemies who now wishes that she was dead but among all those who despises her, there is only one person whom she hates the most. Her nemesis and rival, Cha Min ho . They went to the same law university and debuted as a lawyer at the same time, but she never got used to that despicable man. He was a man who flaunts himself too much and takes credit for something he barely did. He was a good lawyer who could be considered her rival, but he lacked the ethics to be one. He helped criminals and takes bribes from those with high status. If she was considered the light to the true victims, then he was their darkness; they were in contrast to each other.
He was literally an unscrupulous person and a sly fox. He even tried to flirt with her in the court. Thankfully, she held in her anger, or else god knows what she might've done to that man. He used to spread rumors that she used to date him, but she managed to bury that damn rumor after 2 whole years. It was just pure torture to see his face every day, in the same class and in the same firm.
Thankfully, he transferred and became a legal advisor of a company. She never saw him once ever since then, so she was on cloud nine for the past 5 years but a month ago she got a call from a client and learnt that it revolved around that 'very' company where that fox works.
So she once again got involved with that bast*** even though she thought of doing the opposite. It was a case that she could have declined, but it was an acquaintance of hers introduced by her close friend. Therefore, she couldn't just turn a blind eye to the matter. She was after all the one who helped me in clearing up the nonsensical rumors going around at the time, calming me down in order to maintain my unkept anger from exploding as well as from wrecking havoc in the court multiple times. She has helped me a lot of time when I was desperate. She was in the prosecution, unlike me, who was an attorney. Mira, my acquaintance from my friend's group circle, supposedly got into trouble with that company's Ceo's son, who was also her ex-boyfriend. Talk about coincidence.
Brushing her thoughts away, Min yoo got into the cab and looked outside the window. Today was an overly frustrating day, so she ought to have a drink with Luna, her close friend. She also had to discuss the to be ongoing trial. Suddenly, the taxi driver applied the brakes, making the vehicle stop, and two unknown men with covered faces opened the door from both sides. They blocked her from getting away and forcibly drugged her to sleep. She tried to retaliate a few times, but the drug kicked in too fast for her to react, and she fell unconscious without being able to do anything.
=======================================
Somewhere near a coastal region, inside of a warehouse.
Min yoo was tied up in a chair while still being unconscious. She was slightly conscious as she worked her mind, trying to remember and deduce what was going on. She remembered that she had gotten off work and was heading out to meet her drinking partner, but she suddenly got kidnapped, which took her off guard.
It was very dark around the room with very little lighting. There were at least four men who guarded the entrance of the warehouse and two who waited patiently for the woman to gain consciousness. They had been ordered to kidnap her and bring her to the warehouse while they waited for their client to come.
They were from local gangs that belonged to an underworld organization that specialized in such works. They were paid with a hefty amount of sum granted that they did their jobs well without failure. If they knew who her brother was, they would have never even thought of laying their filthy fingers on her.
They knew who Min yoo, the lawyer was, but they still dared to kidnap her since they did not know whose daughter she was. They were also ignorant of who her brother was as well as he amonymous in the media world. The rest of her background was unknown. All the information on the data system stated that she was an excessive righteous attorney who could even defy the president of the state; she was also known for her tenacious and stubborn personality, which made her an idol among her juniors, and pride to her seniors due to her incredible achievements.
"Agrr!" Min yoo slowly opened her eyes as she gained her consciousness. She opened her eyes and sensed two persons in front of her. Their backs were facing her, but she could tell that they had weapons on them from the smell of gunpowder that lingered in the air. She analyzed the situation and came to the conclusion that she was indeed kidnapped for reasons that were currently unknown. She could not see in the darkness, but her senses were better than most average people.
She felt that both her feet and hands had been tied up. She tried to free herself, but the rope was too tight, and she was having trouble freeing herself. She heard a noise, like a door being cropened and some person walking in. She stopped moving and pretended to be unconscious until the footsteps stopped right in front of her.
