Min yoo, calmed down her raging emotions and organized her thoughts. The last thing she could remember was fainting, then there were some people speaking when she was finally rescued and brought to the operation room as the doctors examined her and the nurses cleaned her wounds.
She had definitely gone to the hospital without a doubt. There is no way that was an illusion, so the only conclusion she came to is that she died there unfortunately. She did feel her brother by her side, and she could imagine the devastating emotion on his face. Her wounds were after all too severe, and she had lost too much blood. As for how she looks like right now and why she is in the body of a child and in an unknown place, well she didn't know.
Actually, there is one possibility she could think of, but it was too much of an unrealistic probability which did not make any sense. Though her current situation was even more senseless than that. She wanted to believe that this was a dream, and the fun fact is that one cannot feel pain in their dreams let alone be able to smell anything like she was doing right now, what a horrendous smell. She had only heard of this kind of happenings in novels, webtoons and manga.
Transmigration! How unbelievable was that, but it was the most probable reason to her circumstances. Anyone who read at least some novels, manga and webtoons would be aware of it, even those who watched anime would know since that was a typical happening in half of the stories.
Some protagonists who died by getting hit by truck-kun or a terminally illness or even when they go to sleep after reading a chapter of a novel, migrated to another body in another world completely different from theirs or simply a parallel world, it depended.
They then started anew and changed their lives trying to survive as the one with a new identity. They adapted to their environments and became a famous individual or something. Mostly they migrated the bodies of the male lead, female lead, villainess or a supporting side character. It was a bunch of complicated things that made it bothersome at one point.
To simply put they become calamity magnets who will have faced death at multiple points in time, the more involved they become with the transmigrated world. Some made harems or reverse harems. Reverse harem was interesting, but I preferred to be devout to only one person. Loving and living with one person for the rest of your life was much better than loving and living with 10 or more. Min Yoo laid on the bed and kept staring at the ceiling lost in her wild imaginations.
There was other hypothesis, but they are not related to her situation in the least bit: the third hypothesis is that she is in the afterlife however why would she be a skinny child when she died as an adult, especially when her features are so distinct. The other hypothesis was just utter bullshit.
Whether any of her hypothesis was correct, did not matter. What really mattered right now is that she should find a way to get information about who she currently was, where she was and why she was here. She needed to look at the memories of the previous owner. There may be some information that may prove to be important no matter how trivial they may seem to be but the problem is that she can't access those memories.
There seemed to be a wall that blocked the memories, and it would not break no matter how hard she tries to break it. Normally most transmigrators gain the memories of their possessed body, but some do not. It seems like she was a part of the former, but she believed that she would be able to retrieve them one day anyways. Maybe it will come to her in her dreams showing her the way of how the previous owner lived or how she was treated by others.
She had checked her whole body and there were scars or bruises everywhere. There were also some whip marks on her back. From the looks of it, the previous her was being mistreated and malnourished considering how skinny and bony she was as of now. She also analyzed the room from every nook and cranny. Apart from the small window on the left of the bed, there was a door, but it was locked. She did not have a pin or else she would have opened it already, but even if she was in possession of one, she is too short to reach that door.
She was already so exhausted from running here and there to check the room she was in. She sat on the cold floor to take a rest and began thinking. She did not know how the situation outside was so she could not make any rash decision.
After an hour of rummaging through her mind to find the right answer, she decided to wait for someone to come and open the door. It was the only thing she could do right now. She was hungry, however there was nothing she could possibly do since the room was locked and there was not a single food item in the room not even a single drop of water.
Time slowly passed and soon evening came, Min yoo crouched on the bed while holding her belly. She was starving and thirsty. She thought someone would come but no one did. It was as if she was left to die here all alone in this cramped space.
Living as a wealthy person even when she moved out to live by herself, she never knew what hunger and thirst were. She got everything she needed whenever she wanted to but for the first time in her life had she suffered so much. It was more unbearable than the pain of being shot and the feeling of being drained. It was way worse. She had to admit it, she was just a sheltered lady who did not know much hardship all that well.

The sounds of the lock being opened was heard from inside. Min yoo tilted her head to the door and watched as it opened. A middle aged woman in her 40s entered with a piece of bread in one hand. The woman looked at her coldly which sent shiver down Min yoo's spine. She unknowingly trembled and lowered her gaze to avoid eye contact. It all felt natural as though she was used to this, but why was she so affected by this feeling, she was not even the one who experience all of this. She could feel that she was scared of the woman in front of her.
The woman gazed at her sharply for a moment and said as she threw the bread on the ground," Still daring to look at me in the eye, how dare you? You are becoming more ungrateful day by day. Here I was, being merciful enough by bringing you some food. You wretched girl, you don't seem to have learned anything from yesterday's lesson. Then I will have to re-educate you on behalf of others."
She looked at Min yoo with a wicked smile and lifted her hands to slapped her across the face. Unable to react from the sudden attack, she took the hit more than three times on her face. She fell to the ground unable to continue standing due to the pressure behind the woman's slap. The woman kicked her small body with a lot of force that she began to cough a little blood and she badmouthed her with pure hatred and maliciousness. She crouched herself further in order to reduce the impact of the hits and endured the pain while wincing from time to time.
Everything that she was experiencing right now was confusing and a first to her. She was loved in her past life, although some people cursed at her sometimes, they never dared to lay their hands off her.
