Salen

"Sorry, I was just lost in thoughts." She apologized. " I was just lost in thoughts. That's all.

"No need for that, we all have days like that." I smile at her, "to what do I owe this visit?" I raise a brow at her.

BB, being who she is, doesn't just make an appearance without a reason at all. She's one of those people who always needs a reason to visit a person.

"The boss asked you to come to his office." She answered," but seriously, what did you do to the boss? "

" Why? "

" I've never seen him act the way he does to you with others. He's much more composed and caring to others, but when you enter the equation, he seems to turn into an entirely different person. "

" I don't know. " I shrug, answering her question," who knows, he might be threatened by my handsome face. He's afraid I'll still the girls here with my killer smile. " I smirked at my words.

Only if that's the truth, at least I'll know the reason he hates me.

"But why should he care about you?" BB placed both hands under her jaw as if she was trying to think about the possibility of the words I spoke.

"I don't know." I shrug, "he might be insecure, that's the only explanation for how odd he's acting."

" That's true," BB nods.

By the way, she's acting, it isn't difficult to know she intends to make use of this as a starting topic for her daily gossiping session with the females in this company.

"I have something urgent to take care of." She bade me farewell as she ran out of my office, presumably on her way to spread the latest gossip.

Wait until Mar gets to hear of this.

I swear he's likely to shit paper.

I knock on his office door * I don't know what, but I want to try this.*

"Come in." He called from his office, obviously expecting either BB or one of the female workers who work for him.

"You called for me?" I raise a brow at him as I strode inside like a person with a critical purpose.

"Is this how to greet your boss?" He relaxed on his chair and darkly glared at me.

"Pray do tell, boss, how does one greet their boss?" I purse my lips.

" In a respectable manner."

" And I wasn't respectable just minutes ago?" I scoff at him.

" You…" A knock on the door prevented him from completing his sentence.

" Come in," Mar called out to whoever it is that happens to be at the other side of the door.

"Good day, Mr Mar." An unfamiliar male greets the moment he came inside.

Dressed in a blue suit that looks like it was tailor-made, especially for him, he seems like someone who escaped a runway.

His light-brown hair is slicked to the side, giving him both a rebellious and sweet look.

A combination I never would have thought capable of working hand in hand with each other had it not been for the fact I saw it in another's face.

"Good day." Mar greets.

The male gave me a very dark scorching look, scoffed, and sat on the chair I had every intention to sit on.

"I brought the file for the proposal…."

"I think I'll take my leave, sir. I have more than enough work to complete." I expertly lie through my teeth.

" We have our project to complete. You have no reason to return. You can sit there, and wait things out."

" Are you sure about that, Mr Mar? The work I have here isn't child's play. Should we start the compiling now, it'll take hours before we complete it."

" No need for that. You can drop the files on the table, I'll have my worker go through them for me." Mr Mar said in a dismissive tone.

" Why do you need your worker to do something like that for you?" He purred the question. "I can be of help to you in that department."

" You don't have to worry, Mr....." Mar paused as he thought of the name the male in front of him goes by.

" Salen. My name is Salen." The male offered without sparring a second at all.

It was as if he were already anticipating the question.

" Okay, Mr Salen…."

" You don't have to be so formal when referring to me. The Mr makes me sound old." He made it seem as if being old is a disease of some sort.

"Okay, Salen…."

" How could you pronounce my name so well?" he sighed, "had I not known better, I would have thought you were the one who gave me the name."

I scoff at his words.

Just how obvious can this male be?

It's as clear as the day that he's flirting with Mar, but Mar doesn't seem to be paying any attention to him.

"It's not too difficult to pronounce your name when you did so while telling that to me," Mar said in a dismissive tone.

" Even though. It's not everyone who knows how to pronounce the words."

" I guess I'm not everyone." Mar turned to me," are you ready to start?"

" I am when you are."

"What of the proposal? I thought we…." Salen's words were cut off by Mar.

" Don't bother about the files and your proposal, I'll have everything ready before your return."

I hope he's not planning on dumping the work on the proposals on my head.

"But…."

"You don't have to worry. It's in safe hands."

" Thank you."

Though his mouth said another thing, his eyes have an entirely different thing in them. He looks as if he's minutes from breaking down at the feet of the cold, aloof boss.

" You are welcome." Mar took the files the so-called Salen brought, and put them into the cupboard.

"Good day, Mr Mar."

"Good day Salty," Mar called out to him, but luckily no one aside from I heard what the boss said.
