CHAPTER 9: DRAGONS COMPETE.

Felix point of view

I am currently walking with Seth around the surroundings of my lab in Danville at around 11 am. I turn to seth and ask, "so what was the lead you said you had on the location of those gifted beings?" Seth pauses and speaks, "I have been speaking to one of my superiors at the police force, to arrange for some police officers that will patrol some areas in search of anything suspicious, he kind of owes me so he had no choice but to do it." I laugh knowing fully well what evil g is capable of. "I trust you, always making debtors to do your bidding. I learnt one or two from you." His smiles before replying, "at least, now you know I'm keeping to my side of the proposal."

"Yeah, yeah..."I said to him before we ascend back into the building.

THE GIFTED REALM

It's the hottest time in the day with the sun at its highest peak. The dragons are filled with much strength and power because of the energy they channel from the sun. The land of the dragon is bubbling with cheers from various gifted that have gathered there for the fun of watching the competitions. As usual, the five immortals are seated at a special part of the audience to assess the participants of the competition. The first part of the competition is 'who can make the largest fire?' There's a lot of heat at this period as about five dragons on flight, are rolling out a lot of flames into the sky. The audience are served glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice gotten from the human commercial market. There were also barbecued fish on sticks, but specially for the immortals. The next session section is a cooking competition where 5 dragons are asked to make pizza. The immortals enjoyed the most as they were the judges, but the audience still got to taste. One male dragon made a chicken suya pizza in which the chicken was bought from the human realm. Another made the common pepperoni, but it was more spicy than usual and extra crispy. Of course, one made the Margarita pizza. Trust that there was so much cheese; very stretchy delight for the judges. It got third position. The shawarma pizza go to second as the judges saw it as a level of creativity, merging shawarma into the pizza world. The first position went to the smoked BBQ sausage pizza. The smell of the sausage under the heat of the dragon's breath was the dragon's first point from the judges. The dragons used a metal box that had iron rods to place the pizza dough with toppings. They each had to supply specific amounts of flames and allow the magic of conduction to cook the pizza.

The winner got the privilege and contract of cooking pizza for the Christmas party coming up in the next four months. The other dragons also did obstacle courses, where the youngest dragon in the realm won, with a gold medal ( also gotten from the human realm). The dragon was mostly called 'Mighty' for his small stature but his might in games and competitions. Theux complemented his skill in the presence of the audience too. The event ended with flying competition, where the dragons were asked to fly into the volcano to get a specified rock and reach back down to the audience. The day was already exhausted and it was safe to say that this event was so far, the most enjoyed by The gifted.

BACK IN THE HUMAN REALM.

Lucy point of view

I am in my furry brown coat, at a part of the forest I am meant to be patrolling, waiting for Koven. He is meant to be out by now. The forest is dark and windy with distant walkie talkie voices, far from my area. At last, I see him coming out of the portal, I approach him and we hug tightly. Afterwards, we sit on a thick log while resting our backs on two trees and watching the stars. I see Koven bring out a piece of smoked BBQ sausage pizza, with what looks and smells like freshly squeezed orange juice. I take a bite from the pizza and it tastes so good as I can feel how nicely smoked the sausage is. The cheese is just awesome.

I am forced to ask, "you made this?" He laughs, "of course not?" Me? Cooking? Nah, there was a competition in the land of the dragons today. It was really cool; as the leader of my kind, I got a piece of the winning pizza. I decided to bring it with the juice that was distributed during the competitions. I'm so amazed by this, "this is so nice, it is really a winning pizza. So dragons can cook, they need to teach these humans the stuff. I'm really glad I got to taste from it."

I'm still munching the delicacy as I speak, "so how was your day?" He takes my palm and starts drawing circles on it with his  index finger, "it was good. The dragons needed some supplies for their competition so they asked me for help in getting them from this realm. Dragons can't transform to human form but they can camouflage their scales to the colour of the environment. As a result of that, I had to arrange for some werewolves to buy some of these stuffs, with their money of course. He ends his statement with a smile. "How come gifted have money but the used trade by barter system?" I asked wondering why. "

The gifted don't have money, it is the immortals. I don't know how they get it, probably from their constant contact with the human realm. But every land gets an amount allocated, to their leader on request. I can only guess Archimedian, their leader got it from the immortals." He explains to me. " That makes more sense." Suddenly, I remember the time when Karen caught me sneaking into the house. This remembrance causes me to giggle. Koven notices and asks, "what's funny?" I snap back into reality and realised I have to tell him, so my expression depresses a little. He places his hand to cup my chin, "what happened?" I take a deep breath and summon the courage, "the last time we saw, my best friend caught me sneaking back in and that was not the first time, so I had to tell her about us. I promise that she won't cause issues, I trust her.

He frowns, "I understand you had to tell her, she's your best friend. But don't you think it's better no one knows? It's saves them from troubles." He then brightens up with a slight smile, "don't worry it's fine, besides you already told her there's nothing we can do, but no telling anyone else, ok?"

I nod with my right hand like I'm about to pledge an allegiance. "She's the only one, no one else, I promise."

We hear noises approaching my area. Then koven rises, "I hear people coming, that's my cue, love youuu." He pecks my cheek and before I can reply, he zooms back into the portal with the speed of light. One of my colleagues approaches me with a torch and he asks, "who were you talking to you?" I answer with the most innocent look, "no one", and I leave that place with the thoughts of sleeping in my warm cosy room at home.
