Chapter 4

Before my appointment with Mrs. Folio I decided to pay a visit to the coffee shop. Usually, I'd just let Lenny grab me another coffee from the break room but that was when I didn't have a special someone I wanted to talk too, to look at, and to question how long would it take before I break her completely.

Just thinking about her makes me smile. God Alex, man the fuck up. I call my driver from my office and tell him to meet me outside the building in five, leaving me with enough time to tell Lenny and the rest of the employees what to do while I'm away.

Walking towards the lift, I start to let my conscious speak it's truth.

The reason why you're so fixated on this woman is because no one's ever talked to you like that before. Not even your own mother. And if I know anything about you, hell, I am you. Then I know you're not going to let her get away with it just like that. All you want is to take back your power and to make her feel powerless. Just like how she made you feel by getting the last word.

Damn, right. I'm going to make her wish she would have kept her mouth shut.

Angel face or not...

I take the elevator downstairs and head towards the car. " Where to, Sir?" " The coffee shop, Arthur."

Throughout the whole ride there I thought about that strange woman, claiming to be Mr. Dinfold's daughter. I know I made the right choice sending her away but something in my gut tells me that I might regret it. " Were here, Sir." " Thank you, Arthur. Wait here for me until I've finished my business with the owner." I hop out the car and straighten my suit, looking handsome as ever to which I haven't even held a mirror up to my face to realize that fact. I walk into the coffee shop and see my angelface taking orders from the strangers in line. There's about three people in line so I decided to wait as I did before and not skip the line like I usually do.

A few minutes pass by and here I am looking straight at my angel face while she's looking back at me. Our last talk must have made her very angry because once she saw me, she rolled her eyes and let out the most exaggerated huff. " I take it you're not happy to see me."

" Hi, welcome to Del's coffee shop may I take your order?" " Ignoring me, huh?"

" Sir, I suggest you leave if you don't want to order anything."

" Hey girl, I'm back and, wow. Who's this cutiepie?" Immediately, angel face stared down this other woman next to her as if she looked dumb as fuck. Holding back my laugh in three, two, one.

Got it.

" Alex, and you must be Maya. Freya has told me a lot about you." Though I'm holding my hand out to Maya I can't help but look at angelface. Her face and ears scream overheated and in desperate need for some cold water to splash on her face. At this point I'm honestly impressed with myself to hold back such a laugh, though I can't help but smirk at her. It was the only way to hold back my laugh to which she was not as happy as I was. Eventually, I gathered myself together and looked at Freya who shook my hand while wearing a huge smile on her face. " Maya Pane, sweetheart. And you must be Alex Ziles. I read a lot about you." She said, eyeing me up and down like I was some meat for her to bite into while twisting her crimson red hair.

Hmm, this just got interesting. Turning a little to my left I see my sweet angel face all shocked and annoyed with Maya.

If eyes could kill.

Then. The perfect plan came into my mind. " So Maya Pane, would you like to go out with me sometime?" Angel's head spinned so fast in my direction I thought her neck was going to snap. Is this jealousy or just because she thinks I'm a dick? I guess I'll find out now that I'll be closer to her thanks to her best friend.

I have every bit of confidence that Maya will say yes. I mean, come on. Anyone would have to be a fool to let me go after I asked them out first and not the other way around.

" I'd love too." Says Maya, making me wonder if that huge smile on her face was glued on or if she's just very excited.

Angel face stares at me like I've lost my mind but on the contrary, I've found a new thrill to finish. She's my ticket out of this ordinary life I have and if that means breaking a few hearts here and ther to get what I want, then so be it. " Hold on, I'll be right back. I just need to get my phone." All I do is smile and look at angel 's face while Maya runs into the back of the... Whatever's back there.

" You think you're so slick, huh?" Game on, angel face.

" Who me?"

" I am only going to say this once, so you better listen. If you break Maya's heart in any way possible. I will make you wish you stayed in your mom's womb for life." There's no joke on that one. She's holding her straight poker face and I can tell that Maya is very important to her, but that doesn't mean she's important to me.

" Of course, angel face." I say with a smile and a wave goodbye. She looked stunned by what I said but that doesn't mean her body wasn't. Her cheeks have changed color from white to bright pink which tells me that she does feel the same about me. Either that or she's not used to compliments. Still, I began to walk out the door, getting closer and closer towards my car until I heard a shout coming from behind me. " Wait!"
