Chapter 5: The Exam

It was finally the time of the exam. I had been waiting for long enough and now it was time to put my skills to the test. I was walking up to the exam doors, as everyone was about to take the written portion of the exam. My intelligence increased from all the puzzles and brain teasers I had done, and creative solutions posed no problem to me anymore.

As I walked I noticed that green haired kid again. Honestly, he looked like he had bulked up quite a bit, but after thinking back on it, why is he only bulking up now? I had been training since I was 4. Granted, I was training because I seek to be the strongest in this world, but still, if he wanted to be at least a semi decent hero, he would've started training at a younger age. Speaking of training, I still hadn't figured out what his quirk was. Maybe I'll try and figure it out after I finish the written exam?

I figured I'd talk to him anyway, no harm in trying to figure out what it is now. I went over to him, he was currently talking to a brown haired girl, but I honestly didn't care, the conversation they were having wasn't at the forefront of that kids mind. The blush and stammering was evidence of the fact he was thinking with what he had between his legs and not what he had between his ears.

'What a horndog'

"Hey, kid with the green hair." When I said that he flinched.

'What the heck. Was he abused as a child or what? No normal kid would have this kind of reaction to being called out except someone with serious confidence issues.'

"Y-yes?" He said, his response kind of weirding me out. As he turned to look at me. His head was kind of down and his eyes were looking up at me as if begging for spare change.

'He's like a lost puppy. What is wrong with this kid? Why would he be a hero if he's really just a bitch?'

"What's your quirk? I want to get an idea of the competition I'll be facing in this exam, and I figured I'd ask you."

"It's uh, it's super strength."

'Really? He didn't look very strong when he tried to save that kid.'

I voiced my opinion, my voice laced with doubt. "Is your quirk really super strength? You weren't very strong when you tried to save that blond haired kid. Does it have some kind of activation? Why didn't you use it then?"

The barrage of questions obviously caused some confusion and his answer was pretty garbled. He also backed away and started waving his hands around in the air. All in all, it was quite the sight to see. "N-n-n-no, I definitely had super strength. But honestly, if he saw me try and save Kachaan then that means that he probably knows that I don't have a quirk, and if he knows that then he'll probably wonder what I'm doing at the UA exam.

"Oi."

And if I show the new quirk that I have, he'll relate it to All Might's lack of presence in the hero World. Then he'll find out that All Might's quirk can be given away." He kept on muttering his worries right in front of me.

"Oi! Can you even hear me, stop muttering to yourself like you're going through an enlightenment on the applications of Calculus and and answer the damn question!"

'So he has All Might's quirk huh? Will that make him just as powerful? Interesting.'

Unknown to him, I could he every word he said with clarity. He just told me everything, but I decided to pretend I didn't hear every word he said. I wouldn't want to make him depressed.

"O-oh. I'm sorry. I was muttering wasn't I? That's a real problem I have. Sorry." He apologized.

'That was the most obvious and most trivial piece of information I had heard in both of my lives.'

"Well, it's time to go to the exam. I hope you do well."

We parted ways as I headed to one entrance to turn in my test ticket while he went to another one. I walked to my seat and sat down.

After I took the written test, much earlier than everyone else, might I add, I slept. I dreamt of my previous life's journey. As I made decisions, a black miasma continually increased. For every choice I made, I would become more corrupted. As I watched from above, the me from the past continued the path of greed. The fog sorrounding me until it collapsed under it's own weight, taking me with it to the infinite void.

I jolted awake in a cold sweat. What was that nightmare? Was that proof of hell? The void would suggest otherwise, considering what I saw when I was visiting Apep.

'Am I having an existential crisis right now? But I'm not even close to that age, what the hell?'

While immersed in my own thoughts, the announcer, a hero named Present Mike, began his speech on the practical exam.

Apparantly, there were 4 types of robots that would be present in the practical exam. There points ranged from zero to four, and the amount of robots you defeated would determine if you pass or not.

'I'm aiming to get the top score on this exam. My efforts will be for nothing if a bunch of kids that have only been training for 9 months can beat me. I've poured in my blood, sweat, and tears into becoming stronger, and if I'm at least better than these kids, than I won't ever be. As a celestial dragon, I always believed that things would come to me on a silver platter, but now that I'm in this new world, my strength will decide everything.'

My testing site was handed to me, and I was assigned to testing site A.

'Alright then, lets get this done.'

I was excited, I could finally test out what I had gained after all my hard work. I was ready.

I arrived at my testing site. There was already an entourage of other kids surrounding the entrance. I elected to stay in the back, because I didn't want to spend time around others. I guess you could say I'm a loner.

The gates opened, and everybody was standing around waiting for the signal, including me.

"What are you waiting for? The exam has started! Villains don't wait around, take the fight to them?"

"Shit!" My cussing was my way of venting out my anger. How could I be so stupid?

"Well, no point worrying about it now, better get started." I stomped the ground and blasted forward.

My suddenly acceleration knocked everyone in front of me away, and I hit quite a few on my path, but I didn't care, because all I needed was strength, nobody else mattered but me.

As I ran forward into the testing ground. I saw the first robot around the corner of a warehouse. I changed my angle towards it but I didn't bother throwing a punch. Dropping my shoulder lower to the ground, the wind started screaming in my ears, and I ran into the robot with my shoulder lowered and totaled it.

'That's one.'

In my vision a 3 pointer appeared to the right. Another kid also saw it and began to engage the earth bound computer with legs.

'Oí! That kids taking my shit! I am not letting that happen! I want that robot!'

With another burst of speed, I intervened in the battle between some purple haired midget and the robotic beast. I kicked him aside, but I kept it light, and proceeded to take on the robot.

It was similar to a human in the sense that it had two arms, but that was where the similarities ended. It was pitifully slow, to say the least, and as it swung it's right arm at me, I swayed to the side, and punched that same arm. Like the crunch of bones, the metal collapsed under my fist, and with 1 arm gone, I attacked it's right side. It fell under a myriad of blows.

"That's 1."

Pivoting on my right foot, I lashed out a kick to the scorpion like two pointer in the face. With a crack like a whip, my foot surpassed the sound barrier and smashed it's face in. The crunch of metal both heard, felt, and seen. This exam was cake so far, and I hadn't expected it to be so easy.

"Thats 2."

I continued on

Following the test, I began my journey home as there were no other exams to take, and waited for my results to come in.
