Personal Assistant

The car came to a stop in the middle of downtown and after teaching Emilio a valuable he has been avoiding me obviously upset, but I didn't care.

I still looked like a mess but I was fairly decent to not cause any trouble and suspicion.

The car door opened and as I was about to step out first Emilio bumped into me pushing me out of the way causing me to fall back into my seat and hitting my head against the back of the seat.

"Ow"

I heard him snicker and my blood boiled.

I exited the car and the driver closed the door behind me and I entered the 5 star café and was completely hypnotized by the aroma of freshly baked bread and expensive food.

Gosh do these people ever just eat like, I don't know maybe cereal.

I scanned the room to find Mr. Big head and he was already seated with the she devil.

I walked up to their table clearing my throat at the whore-I mean young lady eyed me up and down with disgust, "babe why did you bring the stray? I thought it was supposed to be our time together" she whined.

I swear she has one more time to insult me or I'm going shove her high heels up her stuck up ass.

"Yes my love let me deal with it." he answered glaring at me.

'My love'? 'It'?

I'm tripping right?

Standing, he faced me and addressed me in a formal tone no doubt because people were watching, "Ms. Rodriquez my fiancé and I are having breakfast together so would you please wait in the car?"

He forced a smile and I had to hold my laughter.

Wait stay in the car?

"No." I said firmly.

His forced smile faded and was replaced with confusion and anger.

I pulled a chair from another table to theirs and sat making myself comfortable. I didn't care that I was interrupting other customers. This food looks delicious.

I took a pancake and drenched it in syrup before taking a hug bite. Mmmmm

It was really delicious. The best I've had in, well forever, but this meal would have been bearable if it hadn't decided to talk, "Eww gross. You're such a pig. You should have left the secretary in the office babe. Where it belongs."

Ok that's it.

I dropped my fork and took a napkin and wiped my mouth clean as well as my hands for I was a lady indeed, " that is personal assistant for you Miss. Fiancé. Oh and me and Emilio have gotten very personal right Mr. Martinez."

I winked at him and he choked on his toast. She quickly turned to him worried trying to help and gave him water.

What a commotion. I swear rich people aren't as proper as they make themself seem.

Before either of the fiancés could say anything, I took a big gulp of her orange juice and left the table smirking.

You people have no idea who you are messing with.

I heard Mr. Martinez hurriedly got up from the table and I felt him gripped my arm and pulled me aside away from the whispering spectators, "what do you think you're doing?"

His eyes were ablaze signifying that he's mad and I smiled even wider, "well I'm going to wait in the car like you said sir."

He raised a brow at me as I was still smiling, "you think you're so smart huh?"

"Well yeah I did study hard to graduate college so yeah. I would say I'm pretty smart." I replied cheekily, and his grip on my arm became tighter and I whimpered out in pain, "Ow!"

He pulled me to look him dead in the eye as he spoke dangerously low threatening me, "Now Miss. Rodriquez I understand that you have worked very hard to get here and seeing as its your first day let me explain a few rules. You are never to speak when not asked to. You will sit at your desk unless you have been told other wise. You will show respect or I swear to God you will never be able to work in this field ever again. Disrespect me or fiancée again and I will end you. Do you understand?"

I nodded my head feverishly feeling panicked that he might just do as he said if I didn't answer.

"Now now baby girl you've always been talking out of turn and now is the time you choose to be quiet? Use your voice. Do you understand!?"

"Yes" I answered softly as I felt his grip tighten even more.

"Yes what?!" he gritted out face dangerously close to mine.

I looked him dead in the eyes as tears welled in mine and a single tear fell as I sternly answered, "Yes sir."

He stared at the tear as it rolled down my cheek and his grip softened. He no doubt left big angry bruise.

His eyes came back up to meet my hard ones and his softened, "you may go," he said softly turning around and left me to his fiancé.

I regained my composure and wiped my tears and left the café with my head held high. If only I didn't need this job I would have left immediately.

I returned to the car and tears began to roll down my cheek, for not only was my pride hurt but also were my feelings.

I looked at my arm where he had gripped me and to no surprise there was already a bruise.

This should count as harassment. I should sue him.

Wait, but if I do he can sue me for going through his files, spilling coffee on him, snooping through his house and I'm sure his lawyers will find more.

He would sue me for everything I had and I had very little.

I can't keep putting up with his behavior though. I've worked too hard to be treated like this.

What should I do?

I decided that sticking with this asshole is the best decision right now. I should at least stay for a year while I gather experience and look for a better work environment.

It will make my resumé look more impressive because working with Mr. Martinez is kind of a pretty big deal.

Okay.

I have decided. I will work with him for at least a year and I will be on my best behavior.

I will neither talk nor look at him, I decided as the doors opened and he entered.

I shifted and looked out the window avoiding him.

I heard him took a breath as if he was about to say something but I guess he decided no to.

I wouldn't have answered him anyway. He will learn to appreciate me and treat me like an equal human being.

I do not care how much money he has or that he is my employer, I will not let him walk all over me.

Marianna Catalina Rodriquez has been through too much in life to let this get to her.

Buckle up Emilio.

You are in for the ride of your life.
