Mother's daughter

"Marissa one, food zero." I said to myself as I saw her walking in the diner looking around for me, and when she finally saw me she broke into a smile and walked over to me and I sat there waiting on her with my arms folded.

"Hey Marianna. How-how have you been?"

"Good." I said nonchalantly and her bright smile slowly faded as she got the hint and cleared her throat taking her seat.

"Sorry I uhh took so long to arrive. This lunch hour traffic is no joke."

"Okay." I said still with the single word responses and she sighed.

"Look Marianna I know that you don't want to talk to me or don't want to be here, but could you at least pretend to care or at least show some respect and act civilized?" she scolded and I scoffed.

"Don't do that. You do not get to pull that card. I did not have anybody to teach me how to be civilized and respect my elders for I raised my self, so excuse me for my behavior."

"Marianna." she sighed and I folded my arms, "please."
